I have no idea. Why wouldn't they stay in Israel according to the 1948 border plan? If they are found to be living in someone else's home, or on someone else's land, then they can find another plot of land to build a new home in Israel. Fair point, certainly their kids will be alive - assuming they haven't died. What about the ones in the last 56 years who were expelled from areas Israel took over in 1967?
-
Great grandchildren? 75 years.. many of the original owners are still alive! What about the millions of Israelis born in other countries? Could they not go back to European countries and America? Same could be said of Israeli citizens. Never going to happen. Both Palestinians and Israelis deserve a place to call home.
-
Your first point is ignoring historical facts. Jews were kicked out of Muslim countries for a reason, Israel kicking out 750,000 Palestinians from their homes and lands. They would still be living happily in their home countries if Israel had not done what it did. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_exodus_from_the_Muslim_world#:~:text=In the 20th century%2C approximately, countries throughout Africa and Asia. Jordan is not Palestine. This is just a false, ugly thing to say. Yes, the UN partition was never agreed upon - thank you for admitting that Israel declaring independence and seizing land in 1967 was illegal - it has been illegal to seize land by force since 1945. But we never talk about this fact, and who would? It would mean that parts of the state of Israel is illegitimate under international law. A very inconvenient truth. The seeds of today's strife were not born because Arab countries rightfully got involved in protecting the indigenous population's property and land rights. Today's strife occurred because the political Zionist movement encouraged citizens from other countries to move to the area - colonial settler-ism. Even the British balked at the sheer amount of people emigrating to the area, and knew it would cause, and was causing problems. They tried to put limits on how many could come, and the Jewish settlers declared war on the British - blowing up hotels and killing the British using terrorist tactics. Most Israelis living in Israel are settlers, or descendants of settlers to the area. This is not to say that all of them are colonialists. There is a certain percentage of Israelis who have always lived in the area, peacefully with Arabs and later on, Christians. Brainwashing is what it's called on the Israeli side. History lessons is what it might be called on the other side. Could you imagine if we were not allowed to teach kids about the holocaust because it might incite hatred towards Germans? No, that would be a ridiculous thing to say. Why should the Palestinians not be able to talk about their history without it being called brainwashing techniques to hate Jewish people? The fact that Israel was created in Palestinian lands, and that they were removed and murdered in 1948 is just truth. Another inconvenient truth, but it is true. Resisting occupation has been tried peacefully. The Great March of Return was a hugely peaceful protest whereby not a single Israeli was hurt or killed. Tens of thousands of Palestinians were left with horrible, life changing amputations due to Israeli snipers shooting them. Hundreds were killed, including an internationally renowned journalist. So these guys get shot at and killed if they peacefully protest, arrested without charges in the west bank, shot at and killed living in Gaza and West bank, what the hell are they supposed to do? Let this situation continue forever while Israel slowly but surely takes all of the West Bank? The fact is, there is NO evidence of any rapes during the attack.

India and Pakistan are countries - they have respective homelands to call home. Palestinians do not. This is why they have special refugee status. Israel hates this, and it thinks that this status is dangerous to its existence. These are where the 'fosters hatred & brainwashing' allegations come from. Israel believes that encouraging Palestinians to think of themselves as refugees, because they do not have a homeland, breeds hatred for Israelis. However, this is just factually correct, and under UN resolutions issued to Israel years ago, they are entitled to return to their homes, and are considered refugees. More proof that Israel ignores international law and tries to twist and lie facts to its own agenda. Note that textbooks used in schools are not actually made by UNRWA. The textbooks come from the PA - the government. UNRWA has issued other teaching materials after noting that there is evidence of antisemitism in PA written text books. Whilst I am aware that schools are named after martyrs, and that teachers often talk about their own experiences and trauma of losing their homes etc due to Israels founding, this does not mean it is incitement to hatred. It is Palestinian history, and they are entitled to tell their stories. They are entitled to resist occupation, which all international courts have said is what Gaza and the West Bank are. Occupied territory. Furthermore, they aren't teaching anything in schools at the moment, because the majority of them have been blown up. So there is no need to de fund UNRWA on this basis. By the way, lets not talk about Israel doing the same thing, right? https://www.thenationalnews.com/world/mena/israeli-textbooks-foster-hate-says-author-1.405887 There is no proof that medical centers and refugee camps are being used as terrorist sites. None at all. I mean, how stupid does Israel think the world is? They claim there are 30,000 Hamas members, but they have destroyed 62% of all buildings in Gaza. It is impossible for a small group like this to literally be everywhere. I applaud your post for actually acknowledging what this is all really about though. Israel wants UNRWA gone, and wants it gone for disingenuous reasons.

12 bad apples, out of 13,000. Sort it out guys. You don't leave 2 million people starving and dying of disease because 12 idiots might have done something. You don't do it if 12 idiots did do something. It is an infinitesimally small number. The NHS hasn't been dismantled after nurses and doctors have been caught killing patients. The police haven't been de funded despite several officers getting thrown in jail for rape and murder. Why isn't AN sharing stories about Israel openly calling for the destruction of UNRWA? Certainly puts all of this into context. But no, they would rather feed you more biased - unconfirmed drivel. Why are they not sharing stories about the rallies held over this weekend to re-colonize Gaza with 1/3 of the cabinet in attendance - in direct contravention of ICJ orders to incite genocide? Why isn't AN sharing stories about Israeli citizens blocking aid to Gaza for the last few days - in direct contravention of ICJ orders to increase aid into Gaza? Why don't we have some parity AN? Fairness. Blinken & Biden are so far up Israel's genocidal backside that one cannot tell where one starts and the other ends. This is not a news story, it is a hit piece. Never forget guys: Israel is a pariah state. It is a state that has been found to be plausibly committing genocide. Why on earth would we listen to anything they say? They have been caught so many times bending the truth & flat out lying.

Because Israel has consistently ignored international law, and couldn't care less. Its supporters, therefore, couldn't care less either. I think a solution is on the horizon. There are finally serious talks about a Palestinian state being recognized by the UN and internationally, without the approval of Israel. This is what must happen. A solution must be imposed on Israel, as it has not allowed the conditions for a two state solution to come to fruition, and has treated the Palestinians and their land with the utmost contempt over decades. Even the UK is considering it. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-68137220 In my opinion, and under international law, it should be on the established borders in 1948. A country cannot seize land by force under international law since 1945, and Israel did precisely that in 1967 when it started the Six Day War.

1) I don't know. I don't have a direct line. Perhaps because if they release all of the hostages, they won't have anything left to bargain with? 2) Palestine? Huh? There isn't a country/land mass called Mandate for Palestine any more, it was replaced by Israel in 1948. 3) Hamas started this particular conflict, but there has been a never ending conflict and resistance to occupation for the last 56 years. 4) Your comment has nothing to do with UNRWA smears by Israel: A country that has been found to plausibly be committing genocide.

Absolutely spot on. Israelis are actually blocking the trucks from entering into Gaza, just days after the ICJ ruled that this 'plausibly genocidal government' must allow more aid to enter. https://edition.cnn.com/middleeast/live-news/israel-hamas-war-gaza-news-01-28-24/h_9e104d9e69e048c2d8a22eb13b0771ce This is all about Israel wanting to destroy the UNRWA to take away the special refugee status that they have. As one Knesset member said on the 4th January 2023 "We know how to destroy terrorists, but destroying an idea is harder. We must take the chance to destroy UNRWA while we can."
-
More smears against an organization that Israel wants to be dismantled. Bear in mind that this country, Israel, has repeatedly wanted UNRWA disbanded. It literally calls for them to be destroyed in the Knesset. Bear in mind that we are receiving 'intelligence dossiers' that in previous instances have been proven to be completely made up from Israel. Bear in mind that we are talking about a country that has been found to be plausibly committing genocide by the international court of justice. Bear in mind we are talking about a country that frequently uses the holocaust to sway public opinion, including wearing yellow stars of David to the UN. They have repeatedly tried to discredit these organizations over decades. This story has a misleading headline, if you read further into the article, it claims the following: These 'ties' talk about family members being part of these militant groups. Not being involved themselves, but having family members who are. For those who might not be aware, Gazans have very large families. It is entirely possible and plausible that 10% do have family members who are members these groups. Palestinians are entitled to be members of these groups anyway, they are legally allowed to resist their occupiers. We have not talked about Israeli ministers attending a huge rally 2 days ago calling for the re-colonization of the Gaza strip. Not a single article on AN. Why is this? There is no evidence from a credible third party, and the intelligence Israel has gained has been through torture (they say 'interrogation') of Palestinians. We didn't listen to Russia when it put out propaganda about Ukraine being full of Nazi's - we understood that this was propaganda. However, when Israel puts out its propaganda against an organization that helps refugees who were expelled from their homes during Israel's founding (UNRWA was founded to help these people in 1949, and is still doing this work) we automatically believe them. They fired the workers involved and set up an independent investigation. What is the purpose of this move? Does it not make those countries complicit in the genocidal acts they have been accused from? These countries are calling for aid to enter Gaza, but at the same time they are de funding the only organization with the ability to do this! Double standards. No fair trial, no parity, no proportionality. The Roman Catholic church has been caught abusing hundreds of thousands of children, but people don't stop funding it. The NHS has had several doctors and nurses who have killed or abused patients. We don't stop funding them. American police gun down blacks at an alarming rate. We haven't de funded the police - despite calls for it. Israel has been accused of war crimes. It is currently a state that has been found to be plausibly committing genocide. Why should the world continue to listen to this colonial settler state who ignores all UN resolutions and international law? They have NO standing left at all, and they should be brought to heel.
-
So instead of talking about Israel's war crimes, losing the ICJ genocide case and the deaths of over 26,000 Palestinians, we are going to rehash what we already knew: something that happened 114 days ago. 792 civilian deaths in Israel on October the 7th was dreadful. However, there are over 18,000 civilian deaths on the Palestinian side.
-
The only reason we are talking about this, is to avoid talking about Israel & the ICJ hearing they lost. This is revenge for losing the ICJ case, pure and simple. Easy way to get Israel out of the headlines, and put the pressure on UNRWA. Gives them a nice easy way to say they are all terrorists, and can bomb all their facilities and kill even more UN staff. Over 100 have died already, more than in any other conflict on this planet. Propaganda 101. This is the largest employer in Gaza. 12 employees have been accused. Twelve! Out of 13,000 that work in Gaza - 0.009%. That's like shutting down the NHS because 12 doctors were caught sexually abusing their patients. To make matters worse, this is the only agency that gives aid to the people, right when they need it the most. Over 80% of the worlds hungriest people are in Gaza. They need aid, medical supplies, water, food, medicine, shelter... because Israel has destroyed everything they have! The double standards here are incredible. UNRWA has their funding completely cut off from 9 countries because of 0.009% of workers who have not been proven to be involved, only accused. Israel is accused of war crimes, apartheid, genocide and has broken international law over decades. They have literally lost a case in the ICJ and were found to be plausibly committing genocidal acts. They have videos from CNN & iTV where we can literally watch their war crimes, shooting unarmed men holding white flags. The entire legal world, and all countries agree that they are occupying territory in the west bank, and this breaks international law. Israel ignores it. No funding is cut, weapons and hundreds of millions are being sent to them. Is it not easy to see why people look at this situation and get so angry with their respective governments and bias? The western world lets Israel get away with literal murder and theft, no accountability at all. In fact, they are given more and more to keep on going. Enough is enough.

There isn't any evidence to suggest otherwise, so yes, it makes complete sense. Do I really have to screenshot your words again to show your lies, like I did on the other thread you badgered me on? Nah, I can't be bothered. This will be my last response to you. On the ignore list you go. Yes, it clearly is open and transparent. Evidence below: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-68119268

If they are dismantled and replaced, would a new organization not have the same issues? I imagine it is impossible to completely avoid hiring a few Hamas supporters/militants etc. 0009% is quite a good number in my opinion, and unless further information is forthcoming, we should assume the rest are OK. If further evidence comes out that says a large proportion of UNRWA workers are Hamas members, then of course they should be disbanded, but this is highly unlikely. The UNRWA publishes a list of names with Israeli ID numbers to all governments and parties who provide funding, and Israel. This is how Israel knew who they were and where they worked. Everything is open and transparent.
-
At long, long last. You have admitted it is only 12 out of 13,000. Your tune has changed. Now you claim to advocate for investigations, whereas previously you were asserting it was widespread and rampant in the UNRWA and they should be disbanded. Who is making pathetic excuses? You have just agreed with everything I have said in all of my posts.
-
Again, I refer you back to the post where I originally stated 'they had done this". I did not claim they were just sympathizers. That came later in response to a different comment. Will you please stop badgering me about nonsense drivel. If you had read the posts correctly, we would not be talking about this. Why not respond to any of the other points raised in the discussion? You have such a narrow focus on one specific thing that has no relevance, and it is something you are incorrect about.

Countless times over decades. However, lets stick to the most recent conflict. This is an article from October 10th 2023 outlining Israeli propaganda and fake videos. https://www.nytimes.com/article/israel-attacks-video-disinformation.html It doesn't even include the 40 beheaded babies - or babies being put in ovens, or babies hanging on a washing line, a pregnant woman with her baby cut out... there are endless lies that have been debunked in Israeli media. That all came a little later than 3 days after the main event.

And this was a general comment in response to Morch - who stated that the UNRWA should be dissolved and a new one started. We were talking about future operations, not the present day. Please stop taking my posts out of context, read what they are in response to. Note the future auxiliary verb 'will'. This indicates a future state, not the current one. I suggested that the UNRWA had done a good job of keeping Hamas sympathizers out of the organization - 0.0007% were accused - because Israel has claimed only 12 individuals have done something during Oct 7. We do not know what they accused of, so It would be wrong to imply they were busy killing babies or whatever other nonsense Israel supporters spout.
