That's right, but they don't seem to take that as very important, strangely. The Filipina had no job, no land, no nothing, no ties to Phil at all. We basically made the argument we'd never break the immigration rules because we may wish to marry and live in the UK, so we would never have any interest in breaking immigration rules. It worked. It shouldn't. But it did. I think because we were honest and followed that lawyer's advice.

It's a non story, the Supreme court ruled presidents have robust immunity, so Jack Smith had his papers graded and was told he failed, so he's doing a resit now, having exercised all the portions he thinks he got wrong the first time around. However, this case would drag to 2025 at least, by which time Trump will be in the White House and will dismiss the case, as he has a legal right then. And immunity for it, thanks to Jack Smith and the Supreme Court.

With UK immigration it's important to always be honest. I went to see a lawyer at a top UK law firm about bringing my Filipina into the UK, we had the option to rely on somewhat massaged employment documents, but the lawyer counselled against it. He said just tell the truth. Even though she had no job at all it was not a problem and that lawyer was right, though he said it could have gone either way. She got the visa and was able to come into the UK. Of course she turned out to be a cheating skank, so that could be a much bigger problem.

Lol, Russia's economy is not in "freefall". It's soaring. "An influential global body has forecast Russia's economy will grow faster than all of the world's advanced economies, including the US, this year. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects Russia to grow 3.2% this year, significantly more than the UK, France and Germany." https://www.bbc.com/news/business-68823399

Well, your first sentence was correct. But of course the hybrid has real practical benefits, it's not a "feel good" purchase. The benefits are of course reduced fuel costs and avoiding the range anxiety which BEV drivers would have, because you can fuel up a hybrid at any petrol station. You can't do the same with a BEV. A hybrid makes a lot of sense for a lot of people, as the sales figures show.
-
And from the same link: Even though hybrids thrive in city driving, it's not all bad news on the highway. In general, hybrid systems provide a fuel-economy boost in steady-state, high-speed driving as well.

This is the stuff I used. Works great.

Absolutely, when she debated Tulsi Gabbard she was taken to task for her poor prosecutorial record and she had no real answers. Even the news people were making fun of her.
-
Last I saw she was on the national stage endorsing Trump and helping him prepare for his debate against Harris. The beautiful and lovely Ms Gabbard has been extremely helpful in this campaign and we should probably prepare for her to get a significant post when Trump is back in the White House.
-
Well we will get the debate. On the same rules as before. Let the better man, or woman, take the glory.

The Shadow of Revenge: Putin's Inevitable Turn Toward Britain
Cameroni replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Looking at Ben Wallace, he's a career soldier, not a diplomat or scholar. And he's not the brightest tool in the box either: "In August 2019, Wallace was overheard discussing Johnson's controversial prorogation of parliament with Florence Parly, the French Armed Forces minister. He suggested that the reason for the prorogation for five weeks was to prevent MPs from blocking the government's Brexit plans, rather than the government's official position that it was to introduce a new legislative agenda. 10 Downing Street responded to his comments by admonishing him and stating that he had "misspoken"." Loose lips and giving away government policy, okay. What else? "On 23 February 2022, Wallace was filmed saying that the Scots Guards "kicked the backside" of Nicholas I of Russia during the Crimean War, and could do so again. Russia invaded Ukraine the following day." So a delusional national chauvinist to boot. Okay. Russia has invaded the Donbass. Where are the Scots Guards now, Mr Wallace? Okay, so he's a delusional chauvinist, but he's a smart guy, he wouldn't be easily fooled, right? "On 21 March 2022, clipped footage of Wallace in a prank call by Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus was released online. The duo (suspected by the British government to have links to Russian security services or of being Russian state actors) impersonated the Ukrainian prime minister Denys Shmyhal saying that Ukraine wished to promote its own nuclear deterrent to protect itself from Russia, a false claim made by the Russian government during the Russo-Ukrainian War and the invasion of Ukraine. Wallace was believed to be on a Microsoft Teams call with the duo for ten minutes." Ali G would have had a field day with Ben Wallace, lol. Okay Clearly Mr Ben Wallace is not the brightest man in the world, just a career soldier and nationalist. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Wallace_(politician) -
The Shadow of Revenge: Putin's Inevitable Turn Toward Britain

We have to look at the facts. Has Putin ever said he wants to annex all of the UKraine? No. He has said however that he wants the Donbass. What is happening? The main fighting is in the Donbass. Why can't we just look at what's on record, what Putin said, and what is happening on the ground? Surley that will gives us a better indication than speculating or some article which just happens to spew exactly the same propaganda lies as NATO does on its website, when they took Putin's view on history and misconstrued it as a master plan to occupy all of Eastern Europe and to resconstitute Imperial Russia. Someone is lying to us here, but it's not Putin. -
Well, if Harris has this humongous and unassailable lead in the polls, as some people here believe, why would she risk a debate with the man who slayed the current president in a debate? She could then skip the debate altogether. However, clearly Harris does not have the unassailable lead some believe, instead she knows she needs the chance to do well in a debate, even if it is not on her terms. Nah, Trump never intended not to debate, he only wanted the old rules retained which worked so well against Biden.
-
And what do you have to be not to realise the link was from the Washington Post, not Trump's media co?
-
Which is quite interesting, isn't it, so Harris does not think she is doing so well that she can skip the debate. IMHO Trump never intended to pull out of the debate. He just threatened it so Harris don't get their demand to change the rules. Classic art of negotiation, walk away if you don't get what you want. It worked, as usual. Of course Trump was in no way desperate to avoid the debate, he had a reason to walk away here with Harris' last minute rule changers, but he will debate on the agreed date. Just on the terms he wanted, which was the old rules. See this is the kind of guy you want in charge of negotiations. not a woman who has zero economic acumen and no skill for negotiation

The Shadow of Revenge: Putin's Inevitable Turn Toward Britain
Cameroni replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Britain's relations with Russia were going rather well in modern times, twenty years ago Britain of course profited with millions from the influx of Russian oligarchs into London. That did lead to some friction with Russia, as some criminals like Berezovsky and others used the London base to agitate against Russia, some were wanted for tax crimes in Russia. However, it did not terribly disrupt relations with the UK, in 2013 Cameron flew to visit Putin and was full of praise. However, it was again the poison chalice Ukraine that completely ruined relations with Britain. When NATO announced in 2008 that Ukraine would become a member it was clear to Russia that a policy of enrcirclement and weakening Russia would follow and all the promises to include Russia in a post 1990 security framework were just empty lies. So Russia invaded Crimea in 2014 after extremely pro Western forces came to the forefront in Ukraine, which demanded nuclear weapons for some time. A pro-American Ukraine with nuclear weapons was intolerable to Russia. Following the Crimea invasion relations with the UK really deteriorated. Anyway, as many posters here have correctly pointed out, the author of the regurgitated article here is just again trying to construct the same propaganda lie which NATO has published on its website that Putin is a mad dictator intent on reconstituting Imperial Russia. Nothing could be further from the truth. As has been pointed out already, Russia can't even occupy all of Ukraine, its neighbour, least of all invade or occupy the UK. So your crumpets are more than safe. -
So Trump did not pull out. He agreed to debate on the agreed date. However, ABC and the Dems have given up the shameless demand that the rules be changed to favour Harris. I suppose this was master class in the art of negotiation for Harrisworld and ABC. “I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a Debate with Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform, confirming the debate will be Sept. 10 in Philadelphia. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/08/27/trump-harris-debate-sept-10/

I already did. Many hybrid systems will run the gas engine at a higher speed than needed, but one that's efficient, and use the extra power to run a motor-generator that can then feed power to the battery or directly to a traction motor. Yes, in the city the hybrid saves even more fuel, but the hybrid is more economical on long distances too: Take the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid as an example; it uses the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as the nonhybrid Civic but swaps in a hybrid transmission packing a pair of electric motors. The nonhybrid model's best fuel-economy ratings are 32 mpg in the city and 41 on the highway. Adding the hybrid gear raises both figures, which come in at 50 mpg in the city and 47 on the highway. So while the city number gets a bigger boost and surpasses the highway figure thanks to the hybrid system, the hybrid has a fuel-economy benefit regardless of where and how it's driven. https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a61730444/are-hybrids-good-for-long-distance-driving/
