    It will be interesting to see what Immigration will make of this regarding yearly stays. Currently a foreign man married to a Thai lady needs 400,000in the bank. A foreign lady married to a Thai man needs nothing, zilch, bugger all. How about a foreign man married to a Thai man? Or a foreign lady married to a Thai lady?

    Yes. Extend at Immigration by 30 days each entry.

    It is not a one year Visa. It is a 12 month extension of stay. You can apply anytime up to the expiry date of your current stay. Your passport will be stamped with the day you have to return. Usually 30 days.

    If you change your mind and decide to stick with marriage extension make sure the bank balance is below 800,000 or they will try to talk you into retirement.

    Just top it up to 800.000 Baht at least 2 months before application and change your reason for extension.

    Surely not. I have been doing marriage extensions for years without any problems. usually in and out of Immigration within an hour.

    Marriage would be far better option for you. Less financial requirements. You can use your cash in the bank unlike Retirement option. Easy paperwork requirement in spite of what some on here would have you believe. Only slightly more than retirement. You can also get a Work Permit with marriage unlike retirement.

    Maybe you live near the beginning of their round. I must live near the end. I just wish they would be honest and not blame the customer. As long as they don't expect a tip when they do eventually decide to turn up.

    I have lost count of the times that we sit in all day waiting for a Lazada delivery. Only to be informed on the tracker that they can't deliver because of the recipient asking for the delivery to be rescheduled. Why can't they just be honest and say that the driver was too lazy or ran out of time or could not find the house etc. They all do it. Useless the lot of them.
