    A Visa on arrival gives a stay of 15 days and costs 2,000 Baht if he if qualified , which I doubt. I think that you are thinking about something else.

    If you arrive with a Visa Exempt Entry you can apply for the Non Imm O Visa if you have at least 15 days left on your permision to stay. After around 2 months you can then apply for the 12 month extension for retirement. The op already has a bank account with the required balance so this is in answer to him.

    That would depend on the carrier but I don't see why not. Most even deliver on Sundays.

    You can enter Thailand with a Tourist Visa or a Visa exempt entry. Apply for a Non Imm O Visa then the 12 momth extension of stay. However if you can arrive with a Non Imm O visa it would be easier. A Non Imm O Visa would give a stay of 90 days that can be extended by 12 months.
