lordgrinz replied to Georgealbert's topic in Thailand News
Drug dealers belong in jail, and off the streets, we need to start chaingangs again too, no more pampering criminals while in jail. -

Hopefully we can increase those numbers. -
Crime British Woman Sentenced in Germany Over Thai Drug Smuggling Case
lordgrinz replied to Georgealbert's topic in Thailand News
Obviously the punishments are light, thus the risk-vs-reward is in their favor. Don't expect this to stop anytime soon, unless they change the law to reflect the amount of drugs being smuggled. They need to call Thailand and have them warn countries with better laws to stop them half way back. -
Accident 1 Dead, 2 Seriously Injured After Pickup Cuts in Front of Lorry

Sounds like someone pulled out onto the road before it was clear to do so. -
Accident British Expat Loses Both Legs in Bangkok Hit-and-Run Tragedy

To do what? The motorcycle is completely at fault for this accident, nothing the police do will change that, he caused his own predicament. -
Crime Singapore Tourist Arrested for Flying Drone on Walking Street
lordgrinz replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
That's because it (flying an unregistered/uninsured drone) was done during a restricted event, where only police and security were authorized to fly them. So basically the same issue here, people flying illegal and unregistered/uninsured drones during a National Emergence declaration. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse, and some countries take it seriously. -
Report Pattaya Cracks Down on Rogue Beach Operators and Vendors
lordgrinz replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
When I go to the beach, I don't want to see or hear another soul, crowded beaches with vendors and hawkers? Wouldn't even go there, completely off the list. -

Military Submarine Replica Goes on Display in Sattahip
lordgrinz replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
The new Chinese sub should make for a nice tourist attraction along side the defunct aircraft carrier, that's if they don't sink it before leaving the harbor. -
Traffic Confusing Bangkok Traffic Sign Sparks Online Debate
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
We have multiple roads with signs similar to this near me, tons of people turning right from a straight lane only, and people going straight from a turn only lane. It's so common that I wonder if Thai's have trouble thinking with more than one brain cell. -

Crime Singapore Tourist Arrested for Flying Drone on Walking Street

Spain is fining a tourist $231,000 for flying a drone illegally, what fine he gets here in Thailand will seem like a discount to that amount. -
Accident British Expat Loses Both Legs in Bangkok Hit-and-Run Tragedy
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
From the film it looks like he swerves to avoid the bike hitting the dashcam car, I assume the rider is further back on the ground, he may have never seen him down under the high dashboard, assuming that he thought he missed crashing into another crash scene. He is at most guilty of leaving the scene of an accident, if they can prove he ever thought he got in an accident to begin with, the bike never got hit by the lorry. Either way the biker caused this accident, and is responsible for his own predicament. I'm impressed at the swerving maneuver of the lorry, he probably saved him from getting killed. -
Accident British Expat Loses Both Legs in Bangkok Hit-and-Run Tragedy
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Again, you don't seem to understand what you are watching, try again.....pay very close attention, because you are so wrong it's almost pathetic. Hint: The rearview camera view is flipped. The motorcycle can't pass on the driver's side where "parked" cars are located. -
Accident British Expat Loses Both Legs in Bangkok Hit-and-Run Tragedy
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Wrong wrong wrong ......he is overtaking on the passenger side!!!! It's a rearview camera view! The truck is in the middle lane when the bike encounters the parked cars and then swerves across the solid line into the middle lane, locks up his brakes and literally crashes into the dashcam car. There are 2 solid lines as they approach the zebra crossing, thus NO lane changes allowed! -

lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Finally, video! ... he's undertaking the truck, then locks up his brakes and drops the bike sliding into a protected lane (solid line) right into the rear of the dashcam car, then gets run over by the truck as it swerves to miss him. This is all on the motorcycle rider, lack of driving skills, and refusal to slow down, possibly trying to change lanes illegally by undertaking because of the parked cars in his own lane. -

Just a side note, don't ever lay your bike down, it won't stop any faster by doing so. -

Definitely changes the one-sided narrative of the family, if he's sliding into view, then the accident happened when he dropped the bike. -

Based on the new information that he dropped the bike and slid under a 20 wheeled lorry, who probably never even knew anything happened, I'm not sure the lorry driver is guilty of anything.- 147 replies

Gave it up, mainly because of the other dangerous motorcycles out there, I never felt much of an issue with cars around me, but the motorcycle riders are nuts here.
