  1. Between this and my personal pet peeve "property taxes", Thailand is heading down a pretty horrible rabbit hole. Property taxes being the worst, as it allows governments to force people off their own property, usually handing it over to the Elite.
  2. Bankers finding new ways of controlling/restricting your access to "your" money? Who would have thought.
  3. He should suffer the same punishment, light him up 🔥
  4. They would do better to monitor peoples bank accounts then, because when someone says they make less than 150,000 baht, but have millions flowing through their account(s) and drive around in a brand new BMW, there might be an issue. There are tons of these people out there playing the system.
  5. It's attached to our TRUE internet and cable account, which like all the bills here in Thailand, is in her name. Plus, she tried asking them about it, and they said no need to change anything, as the account was setup long before the changes.
  6. Makes a $25 Lobster Roll back in Maine look like a bargain .....LOL
  7. My phone SIM is still registered in my wifes name, the SIM card never got shutdown, and my bank account and app still work. They must be hoping I'll come in to replace my 8 year old SIM card, just so they can say "we gotcha!"......LOL
  8. Wait until you get to see these same incidents carried out by the locals, but they're Thai, so it's OK.
  9. That's why they came here, they enjoy the lawless society.
  10. Completely giving it up myself, going back to my roots, eating as healthy as possible and working out regularly, I don't like what 9 years of living here did to me.....and at 56, this might be my last chance to reverse things, at least before old age sucks the life out of me 🤪
  11. Last thing a farang wants to do while driving in Thailand, is to drive recklessly like other Thai's do, don't add another dynamic to the already dangerous and unsafe roads. Take the high road, defensive driving is the only way to survive driving here, too many offensive drivers here already. Welcome to consequences, was it worth it?
  12. Maybe they should create recreational flying fields for drone users, drone cafe's ($$$), bring the kids ....LOL
  13. Just jail him here, then send the bill to Australia for incarcerating him, got to be way cheaper to jail him here than in the land down under.
  14. Since Thailand refuses to do anything to enforce road rules/laws, and has blatantly ignored and lied to the WHO about fixing it, they should be banned from the IDP system, and they should not be allowed to drive in any other country unless licensed in that country. Force their hand, and make them lose 'face' in the international community, then maybe they'll get the message.
  15. G'Day Sir, welcome to the Bangkok Hilton.
  16. Thailand and it's culture are Hell, not family.
  17. I prefer complete lockdowns of borders, and huge fines, deportation and/or imprisonment to those who choose to continue to break immigration laws.
  18. Biggest threats to safety in Thailand are Motorcyclist and Pickup drivers, at least this time they kept the carnage to themselves.
  19. I agree with everything you said, except that I consider Thailand to be Hell.
  20. It's not the roundabouts, it's the Thai drivers refusal to use them properly or safely, basically breaking all the rules to benefit themselves, the me-first rule is the only rule they follow.
  21. Was it ever legalized? It was decriminalized, which to some meant they could open up shop and sell at will to anyone.
  22. Roundabouts should be removed in Thailand, I have yet to see a single Thai use them properly, all they do is increase the danger level here. They are a great idea, but only if you have well-trained drivers and a police force that keeps bad drivers in check with enforcement, both or which are lacking/absent in Thailand.
  23. Everyday occurrence here in Thailand, especially among motorcyclists.
  24. Motorcycles not only break road rules and laws, they also believe they can do so without consequences, well......welcome to consequences.
