    We have a canal road (two lanes separated by a yellow center line) near my house where all motorcycles have decided to drive down the center yellow line to pass, dodging each other from both directions, it boggles the mind how this is allowed. But then I remember the RTP is useless, and self serving. To drive between two tight opposing lanes traveling at 60 kph in both directions, and dodging other motorcycles coming at them, is suicidal!

    Not into oncoming traffic, especially when that oncoming traffic is a tanker truck.

    Being that this is a country without a functions police force, everyone residing here is an open target. This is also a country with a violent and unchecked Muslim population living in the South. I would think it would very prudent to warn their citizens of the dangers of visiting Thailand.

    I'll have to register both numbers, as it got confusing back in the states too. That's how we found it, the vet got different numbers on a few different visits while scanning.

    Wondering if my dogs microchip from USA would be sufficient, actually not sure how long they last, its been in there for almost 13 years. He was a rescue dog, so actually he has two chips already.

    Yes, I am sure everyone is relieved to hear that authorities feel everything is safe, makes me seriously question who these people are and maybe a deep dive into their finances should be carried out next.

    I go a step further than the other poster, I ignore all calls, and use the fact that I am driving (or not) as an excuse 😉

    This whole project needs to be shutdown, investigated and safety checked, and probably hand this over to another contractor to handle if they find that is safe to proceed. Then sue the company handling this so far, enough is enough, this project has been a complete disaster.

    Watched a guy yesterday on a Big Bike with a smartphone between his ear and his should driving down the road, NUTS! But the worst I've ever seen was a man with no helmet and holding a small brown bottle of something and a cigarette in his left hand, in the other he was working the throttle while holding his smartphone. I just assume all Thai's have a death wish, I just don't want to be their executioner.

    If you look at the motorcycle that was heading the right direction, the truck is travelling almost the same speed when going through the frame out of control. There doesn't seem to be any significant speed difference between them, the impact would've probably have been pretty negligible, more of a bump. Either way, driving the wrong direction was a really bad idea. They should play this over and over again on the TV news as a deterrent.

    Not necessarily, he would be driving away from the impact at speed, thus the impact would likely have been less, I'd rather get bumped from behind then hit head-on at combined speeds.

    Here in Thailand, that might be a bonus for some riders, I see smoking riders all the time.

    Maybe Thailand should make pepper spray legal, then the worst thing that happens is someone gets a face full of humbling.

    I was driving a Suzuki SV650X, but my aging back didn't agree with the riding position (clip-ons), and I got sick of the horrendous turning circle. If I had it to do over again, I would've bought the KTM 890 Duke, would have been better for me, and maybe I would still be riding.

    My back won't let me enjoy most sport bikes anymore, and for Thailand, if I wanted a go-fast bike in town I would more than likely go for something like a KTM Duke R, a Ducati Hypermotard, or maybe a little more sedate Ducati Monster. But my wife made me stop riding, so all of them are out for the foreseeable future 😉
