  1. Just add 4gb more ram for total of 8gb and replace hdd with an ssd 256gb or 500gb. Quite cheap now Can install win 10.
  2. Yes that is feasible its what tax department relies on as well. They want copies of all the pages and stamps and a summary list of dates and days showing that one is resident in Thailand 180 days and more.
  3. Well, TI's computer can easily establish who was tax resident or not for any given year. So you wouldn't be asked anything. Haha immigration. My last entry to Thailand in Oct 2023 and I made an address report within 24 hrs. A month later did my annual extension and produced a copy of my address report of which the immigration officer looked in her pc and printed something out after viewing my physical paper (so they had the entry stamp and a copy of my address report) A few months later I went to CW to do a 90 day report and they were asking me to fill update my address report when I last entered the country in Oct 2023. So I had to go home to fetch the physical paper that reported my adress (nothing on their computers) and that was not acceptable. They wanted me to fill in again the paper with all the supporting backup. I told them its all on their computers and they said we dont have access to that. So in the end I produced the address report in October 2023 and had to submit a new form again doing the same adress report for oct 2023 after entry with supporting docs.
  4. But that is tax dept responsibility and its theorising. Immigration already has its rules. In many countries to deal with tax departments they want tax number, ID and bank account and proof of address in country (utility bill or some govt letter) For eg I dont stay 180 days a year in Thailand but I get annual extensions during the time I am here to facilitate ease of visiting my wife. Therefore I am not tax resident and do not need a tin. Why would immigration require something from tax department?
  5. Which law or rule is that? You are only tax resident in a tax year when you are resident 180 days or more. Today is day number 2.
  6. Good grief, taxation has nothing to do with immigration department. Immigration already has their financial requirements.
  7. Why must it be done. Where in the world do countries tax money just transferred? What about investors and companies, must govt tax their transfers? The world over interest in come is taxable subject to an exempt part, that rule already exists for many years, the interest income is generated on a sum of money in a bank account and on the statement it is seen and interest income. Just transfers of money into a bank account is not pure income, the bank knows nothing about that money how and where it was earned. The origin of that money and how it was generated with documentary evidence that is the income and is dealt with by the tax payer and the tax office, it is then declared/reported as assessable income by filling in a tax return as it is done everywhere.
  8. Read them on the rd web site, the tax code and refer to accountancy companies and their websites, go to rd and ask them for help.
  9. Nope, Thailand is a democratic free capitalist country with close ties to the west.
  10. It was Chinese and then Indians and then middle eastern now USA and Canada. Lets simplify and say Thailand wants more visistors from the every country in the world.
  11. The key word is earned. Just making a transfer does not automatically assume that it is earned income.
  12. I agree spitting on someone is quite offensive but there are alternatives to deal with it. Not spitting but one time in CW when I was making a 90 day report they have that market in the big open area. I was perusing one of the stalls and suddenly someone was pushing and prodding me with their hands and fingers. I was immediately angry but when looked up saw he was a person with disadvantages. I smiled, he smiled back and then I walked off without incident.
  13. This is the problem with some, the seething feeling to enact revenge. Fortunately there are laws and the poluce to deal with the offender and the revenger when it gets out of control.
  14. Well one would have assumed the buyer (company) importer of such important equipment would have done their due diligence before importing the crane/s to make sure that all mechanical electrical and hydraulic etc equipment was fit for use before importing it and compatible with the local conditions and meet factory regulations and standards. Usually for such important equipment the buyer/importer does a factory inspection before the machinery being exported.
  15. Violence is not the answer. One should calm down and negotiate/talk with the offender that what they have done is disgusting. Tell them they are in serious trouble because the police are going to be called and that they could lose their priveleges to be in Thailand.
  16. I would have thought there was an appointed competent person to inspect and certify the crane for use such as an independent qualified professional engineer or an endorsed qualified 3rd party inspector?
