I don't really know, maybe diff rules because they make money from that (you know creating money from nothing) or maybe perceived wealth customers get different treatment. Maybe there is not all this crs and fatca reporting to do on foreign nationals. Also seems in 2018 the former Standard Chartered loan business was transferred from Tisco to Citibank. 2018 TISCO Bank Public Company Limited and All-Way Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of TISCO Group, reached an agreement to transfer personal loan and credit card business transferred from Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) Public Company Limited to Citibank N.A. Bangkok Branch (Citibank) as of March 30, 2018.

This bank took over the Standard Chartered business in 2016 in Thailand. 2016 TISCO Bank Public Company Limited and All-Ways Co., Ltd subsidiaries of TISCO Group, have signed a business purchase agreement with Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) Public Company Limited and transferred retail customers business covering mortgage loans, personal loans, and retail business loans. Wealth Management, Brokerage, Insurance (Bancassurance), Retail Deposits, as well as 4 Bank Branches. Looking at their products savings and current accounts they make it quite clear on all their product sheets that they only service Thai nationals and on many savings accounts state and clarify it further it is not for persons of other nationalities. For eg from their website for premium savings "Main conditions Opening accounts only for natural persons of Thai nationality or foundations (not accepting opening accounts for natural persons of other nationalities) Only one special savings account can be opened."

Never read a bad John Sanford novel. Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers series are all great. Have found Author Chris Carter books quite good, A detective after serial killers. Stories are a little gory but keep one entertained. http://chriscarterbooks.com/home.htm

Shrinkflation - Inflation Using The Art of Marketing Lies
freeworld replied to connda's topic in General Topics
What do the pooches think about getting 20g less in their sausages? But yes, shrinkflation is deceptive, when they do something like this there should be laws to advertise to the consumer that the product is less at the same cost. I think in France they have started something like this. -

Seems this owner has not followed any procedure and is in violation of the law. Some quick tips: – Water supply can usually be stopped by the Building’s Management upon request. – Remove access and cut utilities as a last resort, usually it is best to use the threat as a deterrent to further escalation. It is important for the landlord to ensure there is proof that efforts were made to contact the tenant and seek resolution, throughout the eviction process. Lodge a complaint with the police and consumer affairs, maybe see a lawyer if that is how you want to go. If you are up to date with deposit, rental payments and have a valid contract outlining the terms and condition in the contract. The landlord can then request that police remove the tenant from the premises. They can also terminate electrical and water services to the property. It is important to note that the landlord cannot enter the property, remove the tenant’s belongings or change the locks on the door, unless it is allowed within the lease agreement, or with a court order. The legal process for evicting tenants is painstaking and can take many months Key points Rental agreements in Thailand is a legal contract between a landlord and a tenant to use a property for a specific period. The rental agreement outlines the terms and conditions of the rental What should foreigners be aware of regarding renting a property in Thailand? Foreigners who are renting a property in Thailand should be aware of the following legal requirements and considerations: Lease agreement: It is important to have a written lease agreement. The lease agreement should clearly state the rental terms, including the lease length, the rental amount, the payment schedule, and any deposit required. Security deposit: Landlords may require a security deposit before allowing tenants to move in. This deposit can be up to three months’ rent and should be returned to the tenant at the end of the lease if there are no damages to the property. Please note that if the landlord owns and rents out more than one property, they can only ask for one month’s deposit. Rental payments: Rent is usually paid monthly, and it is important to understand when and how the rent will be paid clearly. Landlord and tenant rights: Under Thai law, landlords and tenants have certain rights and responsibilities. Understanding these rights and responsibilities is essential to avoid legal disputes. Termination of lease: The lease agreement should specify the conditions under which the lease can be terminated, including any notice periods and penalties for breaking the lease. Property condition: Tenants should inspect the property before moving in and document any damages or issues. This can help avoid disputes at the end of the lease. Rental agents: Rental agents can help foreigners find accommodation, but it is important to use a reputable licensed agent with a good reputation.

A large company like Disney and they are fighting to not pay out or trying to reduce settlement of US50k. Lets hope the legal system works the right way for this one. Disney Net income US$2.354 billion (FY23) CEO Bob Chapek's compensation package for the company’s fiscal 2021 hit about $32.5 million. That's more than double the $14.2 million he took home a year ago, according to Variety. -
Discovery of a Subsurface Reservoir of Liquid Water on Mars

Good news just in time for Musks targets of sending humans to Mars. "In 2016, the SpaceX founder unveiled his grand ambition to set up a city on Mars. At that time, Musk hoped to see a crewed mission to our planetary neighbor happen as soon as 2024. Since then, the company has made a lot of progress in building its Mars rocket, but not quite fast enough to meet that initial timeline. On Wednesday, Musk revealed on Twitter that he now sees 2029 as the earliest date humans might first step on Mars. That would be 60 years since the first moon landing in 1969." -
