  1. What processor do you have installed, how much ram and what type of harddisk? These days it should not take more than 60 secs to boot a pc.
  2. Was not long ago one hardly heard anything about tax and people just went on with their lives. Nowadays with the internet, it seems to infest every discussion daily.
  3. This is a very old issue from 2019. Here is some refs: Sherrings https://sherrings.com/bank-deposits-transfers-tax-reporting-thailand.html Mazars On 20 March 2019, the Government published the Act to Amend the Revenue Code (No. 48), 2562 B.E., in the Government Gazette. This Act became effective on 21 March 2019. https://www.mazars.co.th/insights/doing-business-in-thailand/tax/deposit-and-transfer-transactions-reporting
  4. Tax is complicated everywhere. If money was taxed in another country then they usually ask to prove it for eg a tax certificate obtained from the tax dept where the tax was paid, this could be used to offset against that income being taxed again and if the tax assessed and paid in the other country was less than the national tax laws in the residence country, then additional tax may be assessed. Anyway the DTA on the Thai RD website seems to be a very old one...from 1974/75??? there are newer ones available on the French tax website.
  5. Its all a lot more complicated than just reading the DTA on its surface, but basically certain types of income are only taxable in one state. All DTAs are based on the UN or OECD standard model of format and they all follow that type of wording "may be taxed" with conditions where and when it is applicable in the other state but one needs to read deeper into the DTA to read exactly when and why it can or cannot be taxed in one state or other contracting state. Thailand tax department can't just deviate from the law and treaty, its also a little doubtful by the expertise if one has to refer to another tax official to clarify something. For example here is a comparison between the model OECD convention (in English, French is also available online) and between France and another country, they all follow similar wording and in French article 10 reads maybe taxed. French DTA for Dividends OECD model convention
  6. Of course it does. For eg. A part of the conclusions in a a springer link document on this. "Considering the pipe’s total volume of about 1.5 m, the result suggests that, neglecting leaks and other possible air outflows in similar conditions, about 40% of the air contained in the system could be billed by water meters connected to user connections"
  7. Today installed for the first time to try. Not really out of the box for finding codecs to install to play vids and streaming.
  8. Don't think so. Govt locking people up and then treating them inhumanely is not how its supposed to work. Of course she should be punished but for them to allow and treat prisoners as objects is not OK.
  9. Do as the Thais do, whisky soda and ice or singha beer with ice....delicious with Thai food.
  10. Nope. Not everyone is a criminal in Albania and it was for work. One needs a residence permit and a work permit to be able to work there.
  11. When I needed one to obtain residence in Albania, the Albanian govt wanted a police clearance check from the country matching the nationality of the passport.
  12. Well maybe because of ETIAS in Europe, all travellers to Europe will in future need a pre travel authorisation and make a payment https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias/what-you-need-apply_en Information When filling out the application, you will be asked to provide the following information: Personal information including your name(s), surname, date and place of birth, nationality, home address, parents’ first names, email address and phone number; Travel document details; Details about your level of education and current occupation; Details about your intended travel and stay in any of the countries requiring ETIAS; Details about any criminal convictions, any past travels to war or conflict zones, and whether you have recently been subject of a decision requiring you to leave the territory of any country. You will need to declare that the data you submit and the statements you make are correct. You will also need to confirm that you understand the entry conditions to the territories of the European countries requiring ETIAS and that you may be requested to provide the relevant supporting documents each time you cross the external border.
  13. And if the applicant is given the all clear and then comes to Thailand and commits crime? Would that help? Banks should be regulated to do more rigorous KYC checks on who they do business with and the nature and legality of the business trading and any suspicious activity should be reported. The fact that even tourists and non real resident can open bank accounts in Thailand should be dealt with. Check the offshore leaks database, one will find many addresses linked to Thailand. https://offshoreleaks.icij.org/
  14. nah, not about wonder where money went, its mainly a design and maintenance issue. See in Thonglor as well a part of the retaining wall of the canal has collapsed, the pressure behind the piled precast sheet retaining wall has caused overturning movement and the precast sheets have fallen out, about a 40m section of the embankment has collapsed.
  15. This could all be solved with legislating for only knife less knives. for eg Knife less knive
  16. You need to find out why you don't have water in your pipeline upstream of your meter and then deal with that.
  17. How's that freedom govt keeps harping on about.
  18. Can refer the matter to the following office of consumer protection. They will get right on the matter. https://www.ocpb.go.th/ewtadmin/ewt/ocpb_en/main.php
