Thailand’s Losing Its Edge — Is Vietnam the Next Real Deal?
Sigmund replied to Scouse123's topic in General Topics
Sure Vietnam or any other place in Asia like Malaysia or the Philippines or even Japan where things are far cheaper then what we think. Foreigners are fed up with the almost institutionnalised cheating and overcharging all over. The total lack of respect from some of the locals and all the absurd immigration rules against foreigners who bring in money or who have invested in homes here. Vietnam the ladies are divine, prices around half of what is being overcharged in Thailand, great healtcare facilities, great food, people are still friendly with all foreigners....and their beaches are pristine, magical and far cleaner then most beaches in Thailand. -
Nobody anywhere in the west wants to bear anymore the brainwashing attempts of the regular mainstream medias who are totally leftist biased wokes. Simple as that. People now can think for themselves and want purely factual news reports and not of the hateful opinions and brainwashing conveyed by western medias.

Trump Leaves G7 to Handle Middle East, Orders Evac
Sigmund replied to Yagoda's topic in Political Soapbox
Trump was right when one saw some of the clowns around that table all thinking they were smarter then the other leaders present. European Union and it's disastrous governance is leading western europe to it's doom and their citizens with it. Not at all a pro Trump or one of his fans. But by far what he is (trying) to do to clean up the crime infested metros of the USA, should serve as a role model for many european "leaders". But as long as western nations will be under the dictatorship of the European Union parliament and their absurd rules and bureaucracy, no hope for things to improve in western Europe. And besides, what was that lady who runs the european union doing at the table ? European Union is not a nation to itself so she really had nothing to do at a world leader summit meating. -
Travelling during Iran Israel crisis to and from Europe.

Not the first war in the region. Flights have always found alternative routes. I would be more scared now to sit in a Boeing. -
European or American drinking habbits amongst teens are not the same. In the US they will get high with a bucket full of Coors or Bud's. In Europe, teens will go for the shots, vodka with mixer etc. as the rules and society in Europe if far more tolerant then some of the extremist laws in the USA. Sorry, no offence please.

Entertainment Global Casino Giants Eye Bangkok for Billion-Dollar Resorts
Sigmund replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The big foreigner money spenders in Casinos will more be in Monaco, Las Vegas or even Macao. I don't really see that segment of foreigners wanting to come to Thailand just to get cheated all over. -
Putin Humiliates Trump With Massive Strike That Kills an American
Sigmund replied to BLMFem's topic in Political Soapbox
Russia, russia... russia. Oh man really... But nothing for the heinous crimes going on for a moment by the other fellow, all over Gaza and across the region. All this with American support that has been going on since the past decades. -
A bank's reputation could be good, but depending on which branch or city you go to, the service could be horrible. Best to check out also which branch suits you, once you made up your mind on which bank to cater. I have seen rude and inefficient staff in highly reputable banks in some branches and some really great bank clerks (and real hotties) in another branch. So just going by the name of the bank isn't always the wisest way to go.

The ladies are smart because if they don't take over the monthly wage comming in, strong chances that the Thai husband will squander it all on booze and hookers. With a falang man , it goes the other way round. The falang had better hold on to his cash and bank details and avoid having to maintain the entire family of the Thai lady. There are always the aged parents. But the most trouble comes from the worthless brother or cousin loafer who always will be out to get his cut of the falang money.

Report Dutch Embassy Sale Sparks Debate in Bangkok
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Well all these European countries that have merciless tax rates do need the billions after all to fund Ukraine or the other broke nations within the European Union. No wonder more and more countries are fed up with the dogmatic rules of Bruxelles and wish to get out of the current functioning of the European Union. The point is not if or if not, the European Union will break up. The point is, when, will it happen. -
Tourism Thailand Boosts Tourism with Strategic Focus on Quality Markets
Sigmund replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
For quality foreigner spenders, look into the house owner segments. All those who own property in Thailand, no matter from which country, will usually be decent people,. and spend a lot. A solution could be to hand out a hassle free 5 month e-visa to any over 50 years who owns property. Plainly on showing either the leasehold contract, copy of blue book or sale contract if condo. And that's it. No more paper work, The house owners spend far more, then the hoards of drunks that come in from all over plainly here for the girls and booze.- 70 replies

Now, which Asian country has the tastiest rice, mates?
Sigmund replied to Lewie London's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Tastiest or healthiest ? Because white basmati rice tastes divine but blows the belly. Brown rice is not all that tasty but far more healthy. -
Israel’s Strikes Leave Iran Reeling Amid Escalating Conflict
Sigmund replied to Social Media's topic in World News
You watch a european or US TV news channel and one would wrongfully see and think Iran is destroyed, You watch Al jazeera and you would see all the damage inflicted to Israel and many areas totally distroyed. As long as america continues to support Israel and refuse an independant palestinian state, there will always be wars and trouble all over. But why stop it ? It generates trillions in arms sales globally. So who wants peace ? Not america or Europe for sure... -
Plumetts yes, but nobody is talking of the millions many are spending to buy top stocks at bargain prices. Many will come out very rich from this. Trump and his team are pro's in business and they surely know more on how to play on the stock market then the handful of democrat liberal leftist wokes who are spending their days moaning against Trump. I don't specially like the man, but he knows how to make money.

They do have a problem in Thailand to hand out change. Some banks make a real fuss and behave as if it was comming out of their pocket, Very often was rudely refused to get smaller 100 bhat notes for the 1000 bhats in Hua Hin, in a certain green logo bank branch in Market Village. Always the same fellow at the counter, who was very rude and seemed to have an issue with the rich foreigners comming over to change 30k in 1000's for smaller notes.

will you boycott tesla because you hate trump?
Sigmund replied to save the frogs's topic in Political Soapbox
I boycott Tesla because IMHO, it's not yet the right moment to switch to electric. Nothing to do with Musk, even though I can consider him to be sometimes a jerk but a smart one who is also right sometimes. If the wokes and other liberal democrats want to play that game, why not introspect into other major US brands that were helping the despicable nazi germany, supplying the Nazis during ww2 and so on ? Many popular US brands by the way and many well known european brands also. A global soft drinks name comes to mind, a well known german car brand also and so do some high street fashion names too.... But strangely, it only against Trump or Musk these days, thanks to all the wokes and other communities LGBTQ+ who obviously do not approuve of Trump's statements. If I was a queer LGBTQ+ woke type, perhaps I would also not be so pleased with the current situation. But that's another story. -

Trump Starts Global Tariff Wall, Thailand Hit with 36% Tax
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What about all the absurd high import duty rates in Thailand ? So it's plainly tit-for-tat. As usual, it will always be the common people who may feel the pinch at first. But the big risk for the world is that all the foolish brands will start to shut down their production lines in Asia or Europe and move in the US thinking it's the only market in the world. Europe and Asia a paying the price for their foolishness and for depending so much on America all these decades. But there is always China who is smart and will be the next global player.
