The eternal battle: how much does it cost to live in Thailand.
Sigmund replied to NorthernRyland's topic in General Topics
If you plan to go to Hua Hin I wont mention a figure....I'd say as a friend, better to forget it and go some place up north in Udon Thani where prices are far cheaper, people more humain and friendly and the girls are hotter and cheaper to maintain. -
The best political allies of Trump were Biden and Obama. Due to all their absurd policies (biden-obama etc)...people just got fed up. Thus even those who despise Trump, (like me), turne to vote for him ultimately. And it's like that in many countries. People are just fed up the with pro migrant, pro climate, pro ukraine issues and spending. So what do they do ? They vote far right. When you see people of foreign descent in europe, from the middle east or Africa who are settled and well integrated in Europe...when you see the mexicans or other nationalities, who are well integrated in the USA........when you also see them voting for the far right or for Trump as they are also fed up...it's maybe time to think differently, instead of wasting time giving out against Trump or what ever...

The ray ban Meta is to hit the market by end 2025. Full internet and AI, but my interest is for the instant translation when interacting with a foreigner. Will be very useful in Thailand mainly in those moments when you have a builder or contractor or a worker who suddenly will splurt out the usual "huuh ?", pretend not to suddenly understand english any more when challenged....you just take out your glasses and can have a conversation in their native language. Far more practical then google translate that often does not properly use the right lexical or syntax. Thank you.

Thai PM Considers Easing Alcohol Sales Rules to Boost Tourism
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Totally absurd. Encouraging booze sale will only create more tensions, trouble and will make the quality tourists with money, go some place else. Nobody wants to have to deal with drunks all around when in a foreign country. The falangs who drink like camels are not those who spend the most. It's the house owners, condo owners who are the biggest spenders. Not the junkie tourists comming over to smoke pot and get drunk on cheap beer. -
Thai Baht Set to Weaken as US Tariff Tensions Escalate
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In the year 2025, the proper rate of the Thai Bhat must be revised. Any foreigner who gives 1 Euro in Thailand must get no less the 40 THB. Currently the THB is overrated. Maybe just to allow all the hi-so's to quickly take their bhat out of Thailand and get more foreign exchange to be put in the foreign bank account some place in Asia or in Switzerland. -

Nightmare at the Prachuap tax office
Sigmund replied to thesetat's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Very true for the automatic gates. But one needs to argue a bit with the usher pushing people towards the automated gates on departure from BKK airport. This is going to be another fine mess as immigration will obviously see a new opening to make fuss and harass the foreigner a bit more in Thailand due to the lack of a departure stamp. India also has great visa incentives for upto 5 years and none of the absurd requirements that Thailand imposes for long stay visas. The price of the long stay indian visa is also far less and one can see that India is now much more advanced and developped in many cases, compared to Thailand. -
1. close the bank account 2. only bring in cash 3. become a winterbird and dont' stay more then 180 days 4. start looking around in other more foreigner friendly countries in Asia or India

Biden was 10 times worse and has left a disastrous heritage of wars and belligerence all over. No to mention the hateful sanctions against Russia that have plunged the prosperity in mainland Europe. Fyi, europeans in majority support Trump and were just fed up with the tricks and politics of Biden.

Pattaya Prepares for Silent Night: Alcohol Ban Hits Tourists
Sigmund replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Will the illegal or legal drugs also be banned ? As they cause as much havoc as to the drunks all over.. -
With the new tax laws pending ? No way I'm ever going to even have my name on any such long term visa. How to prouve you did not stay more then 180 days ? As even the airport departure stamp now does not exist if they push you through the automated gates on departure like it happened few weeks ago ? Sure it's stored in some database etc etc etc etc...but catch any tax official being that efficient to sort out a mess with a falang in Thailand...Sorry, no way.

Bored of Bangkok... Any advice to an alternative place to live?
Sigmund replied to kingofallasians's topic in Bangkok
Flee Hua Hin unless you want to be ripped off on a daily basis by any form of service staff comming over to your place for work, garden, maintenance etc. Restaurants are overpriced and when they are some what reasonable, the portions are ridiculous. And No, I'm not the big belly german who need 3 kilos of food at 06:30 pm for his dinner. 🤣 You can feel a sort of bitterness and xenophobia all over against foreigners in Hua Hin. Be it the bank, a restaurant service and so on. Never felt this in Bangkok or in Pattaya area when you are polite with people and behave with respect. But here in Hua Hin the more you respect a worker comming to your place, the more he or she will try to cheat you., Not to mention those who will try to steal anyhting when working in your house, on the first occasion. As a falang, I definately do not feel comfortable anymore in Hua Hin. -
It's not only the tax. The immigration hassles and visa hassles are getting a bit to much with time. No to forget all the cheating and lies all over, starting from the developpment managers of the houses, the contractors comming to give quotes, the cheating in using poor grade materials on repair works, poor construction in many aspects that cannot be seen etc etc....if you can, sell, and try another country, Or at least try another Thai city because in Hua Hin the cheating and lies are becomming unbearable and the overcharged prices are soaring. Getting cheated on cheaper prices is already annoying...but not when those crooks are charging almost similar prices to some european cities with bad work or service. Yes,,.,I can see those rushing and saying "ohh rubbish-rubbish-never happend to me" bla bla...sure I believe it. When the thai wife or gf is around, chances are that all goes fine. But we are not all mongrels here and some of us here still are able to have a partner from the west. And I'm not the only one believe me who is fed up of this. Add the tax hassles to come and it's all set to chase away all those pesky foreigners from Thailand....but they will leave with their money.

Israeli fans violently attacked after Amsterdam soccer match
Sigmund replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Of course, the racist slogans, tearing down of a Palestinian flang, loud provocative slogans and insults against muslims and the cheering of the war crimes, by the israeli fans on their arrival in Amstardam, that is also off topic obviously ? -
Israeli fans violently attacked after Amsterdam soccer match
Sigmund replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Funny no media is talking about all the provocation and racist chants of the israeli fans who were loudly insulting muslims, cheering the war crimes in Gaza on their arrival in Amsterdam. They even tore down a Palestinian flag that was jung on private space. After loosing the match, the trouble started. The israeli team is know as a radicalised far right violent group in Israel. It is surprising to see all the fuss Israel is making and the insulting words many TV anchors are using in Tel Aviv against Europe. There are 2 sides on this story, but the many medias seem controled by pro jewish tendencies or funds and are not reporting fully the incident and how it all started. No form of violence is acceptable should it be against muslims, jews, christians or what so ever. Should it be in Amsterdam or in Gaza. The press must be fair and also tell the truth on the full story and how the Israeli fans where behaving. In fact it's Israel who should be saying sorry for the rowdy behaviour of it's people who provoked and started the trouble. -
Every day that goes, I regret having bought on leasehold that property in Hua Hin in that falang foreigner managed developpment. You get cheated right with the overcharging on the utilities bills (monthly accounting water electicity). As a foreigenr, you will get overcharged for the garden service. The pool service. And when you arrive, the entire staff like a bunch of cockroaches hover around you and try to invent some plumbing issue or electrical issue to send you maintenance and again charge you. Never make such a mistake like me on buying such house in Hua HIn as a foreigner in such developpements. Just like with your ladies, only rent when in Thailand. Never buy and beware of these swanky pool villa developpments who are just out there to cheat foreigners with cheap quality houses that look flashy from outside and they even refuse to admit that their work was badly finished.

How about looking into the trillions of dollars Biden has given to Ukraine an considering the economic interests and investments of the Biden clan in Ukraine...some other investigations would be more necessary then bothering if Trump paid off a hooker or not (with his money and not us taxpayer money).

Filipina's Viral Video Criticising Thai Women Sparks Backlash
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The girls from Cambodia are the best. Sweet character, docile, very hot bodies, speak english for most, not all that gold diggers, are not the flashy types wanting to throw money around, great cooks and will remain faithfull to their man and many many other more intimate talents that you can guess..😜 -
People were just fed up with the economic chaos under Biden and his cronies. Mainly the support of trillions of dollars to Ukraine and the Russian santions that cost trillions to US tax payers and plunged the entire world in economic chaos. Stop those absurd sanctions against Russia, Stop the war in Ukraine and force that billionnaire in Kiev to negotiate a peace treaty no matter at what cost. The interest of just one small country cannot be above the global interests to stop at least one of the current wars going on.

GO TRUMP GO - Saving the World from the Woke
Sigmund replied to TroubleandGrumpy's topic in Political Soapbox
Trump won also due to the absurd Biden sanctions against Russia that have plunged the entire world in economic chaos and loss of spending power. It all hit back at some point on the US economy. If Trump amends and cancels the Russian sanctions, for sure he will win the confidence vote in 2 years. If not, no chance.
