  1. Somebody in a decorated uniform, did not get the brown enveloppe in time ? If they want to clean up the streets maybe they should first call their boys up north in Bangkok and check out Sukhumvit around Nana with all the African drug dealers who are openly selling their substance to the local or falang junkies, scattered all around.
  2. An acquaintance living in one of those well known pool villa developpments in Hua Hin had a defective roof just 2 or 3 years after the brand new villa was delivered. Keep in mind that despite all the swanky finishes in such villas in Thailand, the quality of construction and mainly the lack of checking and inspection of the final work in Thailand, will never meet the standards of the west.
  3. I used to give all my stuff to wash and iron obviously in Thailand. But should it be in Bangkok in any so called reputed area laundry or in Hua Hin...I regularly got my stuff come back from L or XL size and be returned in a XXS size. They just dont care and dump everything in very hot water. Better off getting your own washing maching and iron board and that's it.
  4. Getting the willy serviced on the side is tempting in Thailand if one has a G/F or wife who does not do the job anymore. But if in Thailand, why continue to be with a g/f or wife who does not do the job ? Far more simple to thank her and walk away. A good reminder that in Thailand never, never buy....always" rent".
  5. if the treaty has been signed, you'd be surprised how especially european banks give out all information. The only banks where things are a bit more safe are the banks of Switzerland. But even the Swiss banks need not to give out information if within the EU or the bully America.
  6. And just how will they check on every foreigners account and see how long the falang is staying ? Wil they take tax from every foreigners account no matter if staying 1 month or 180+ days ? and then it's upto the foreigner to proove he only stays few months ? If if goes that way, every farang retiree not staying for the required 180 days, will be shutting down their accounts.
  7. I find the places around the Hilton of Hua Hin and in fact most of Hua Hin to be overpriced with average attractions or quality. The girls either sulk on their phones or are the fine 50+ milf types. Restaurants also seem overpriced. Globally, IMHO, I feel all the entireservice sector (anything from soapys, to the attitude of those young shop assistants who dont seem to give a sh.... to electricians, plumbers, real estate developpers etc)...all these people seem to have got completely spoilt by the wealthy retirees who do are cutting their nose to spite their face in overpaying for everything without a minimum or bargaining or challenging the quality. That again in my own vision after many years of going to HH. No hard feelings.
  8. Sure. But first Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok Thailand needs to speed up the immigration process on Arrivals and Departures. The long queues at immigration and the tack of open passport check counters are a disgrace. Not to mention some of the hassles the immigration staff can make at the counters in asking for absurd extra documents.
  9. A bit like the ban on electronic cigarettes. Yet openly sold all over the pavements of Thailand. Corruption at it's finest maybe ?
  10. How much THB can one change at a time at a bank as a foreigner ?
  11. Why so much whinging against the poor girl ? She will surely be more open and apt to make life more simple for foreigners and hopefully abolish much of the absurd visa related red tape. and thus boost the thai economy obviously. Let's wait and see before placing any bets.
  12. As a principle I avoid Euros and mainly the US $ that are the most counterfeited currencies in the world. I far prefer the reliable Swiss Franc. Much better.
  13. Oh please...we all know when such "raids" are carried against foreign establishments, it's plainly that somebody in a brown uniform was not happy with the size of his brown enveloppe.
  14. Time to shut down all those bank accounts in Thailand and just have one account with no more then 10'000 and only use it to send money to pay for the community fees in the residential plot area. Done with all this racked in Thailand and harassment against foreigners.
  15. A reminder that in Thailand a foreigner will always be the golden goose for all the corrupt police or immigration staff who will jump at any chance to extort money. No point in living full time in such a 3rd world country. A few months here and there but not more.
  16. If Harris is elected, no dout the current tensions all over will end up in WW3.
  17. Which is why I never enter full time relation with a Thai girl. Always give her some bogus name and always do the serious stup in a seedy hotel and never back at your condo or villa.
  18. Immigration never asked for cash. But on the fast track lane I did fall on a grouch who perhaps was upset that I disturbed his nap and he tried to make a fuss and ask me for my boarding pass. When it was showed, he grumpily stamped me in. A real çç%%hole. The fast track at Suvarnabhumi seems to have some changes going on. For those who pay online for the track, they no longer pick you up at the gate. One needs to walk for a while to a remote area where there is a large empty hall and one immigration counter.
  19. I also am a Chanel Fan but the problem is that in the Thai climate my Allure of Chanel or my Eau Sauvage from Dior just do not do the job. After an hour outside, it's just as if I did not spray myself. But when in Europe, they do last. Perhaps the more stronger fragances from YSL like the Kouros or perhaps the Habit Rouge from Guerlin that are stonger, may last in the Thai climate
  20. of course there are...but it's not written on the door of the car "i am an honest driver who will not cheat and only charge by the meter"... ?
  21. Thailand is blind and forgets that some of the worst mafias and criminal gangs are from China, East Europe (Russia, Poland Ukraine etc), Japan and south Korea. Time to open their eyes but as they will never learn.....
  22. This time cannot blame a foreigner or a Kuwati 😂
  23. Even places like Spain with top level services are getting cheaper then Thailand for booze, food and the fine ladies. Portugal has great tax free incentives for foreigners, great climate and cost of living is nothing, Think also of Malta and other places in the mediterranneean that are cheap with great infrastructures.
  24. With all the current tax rules, the general xenophobia against all foreigners in Thailand, the open cheating and scamming against foreigners, the hars immigration rules or reportings with their TM's.....it should not be very difficult for other Asian countries to get the golden goose. Thailand forgets that the biggest spenders are the over 50 who own property on free or leasehold. House owners are those who spend the most usually for this or that. In fact a sensible move would be to grant all eligible passport holders of visa waiver a 4 month stay if they are over 50. The young 3 week or 30 day tourists usually don't spend all that much and nowhere in the world does anybody take full 30 days holiday., Give 4 month stay to all eligible visa waiver passport holders over 50. Money will flow...and stop all the tax and TM reportings. If not, all the other countries in Asia and even India now are getting flocks of western retirees who are treated with more respect in those countries.
  25. Probably an argument on the rate for the quickie back at the hotel ? Amazing the nomber of young virile looking guys, no matter from which country, all body built, tatooed, who in secret enjoy the services of ladyboys..😂
