Pension Tax Filing Report - Rejected
Sigmund replied to patrickl's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
No matter what the lazy officer at the counter says, if the pension is paid abroad and is taxable...the Tax Man will catch up sooner and later and the arrears could end up in a huge amount. Better put the money aside as to not get into a financial distress when the tax man catches up. Better, if you can, either stay less then 180 days...or sell if you can and move to another country in Asia or even places in Europe like Malta, Portugal or Spain that have very low cost of living and far more decent treatment of foreigners. -
Thailand's Coastline Threatened by Melting Iceberg, Expert Warns
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No secret that places like Bangkok will be partially flodded by the rising sea levels. Say around 30 years ? later ? less ? Time to sell that condo in Bangkok and move to another Asian country. -
Looks that the Thai cops in Bangkok or Hua Hin are arresting foreigners as far as possible to get some extra bonus money. They should rather be enforcing the law on the dangerous Thai drivers on the roads.

Hello. Enough with all the negativity!
Sigmund replied to Don Giovanni's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
A good finish with a hottie in the local "health parlour" and all is set for a great day....until you test positive for some nasty StD or skin infection....not being negative, it's just being realistic. -
His story could be total BS or not. That's not the point. Foreigners and westerners need to be aware on comming to Thailand that they are only tolerated and never will get any form of genuine justice, if there is an issue with the highly corrupt Police or Judiciairy. Better even, is to avoid Thailand and turn to other more friendly nations in Asia.

Ugandan Nationals Deported for Illegal Activities in Phuket
Sigmund replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
The worst image for tourism in Thailand is not from the Africans. The worst image of Thailand is given by all the thais cheating foreigners from anything to a crooked taxi driver on arrival, a dishonest restaurant owner who inflates the bill or gives ridiculously small portions of food or the worst are the building contractors who cheat foreigners during upgrade work in their condos or villas by overcharging, cheating on poor grade materials used, poorly done work or unfinished work. With of course the usual excuses during the process with likes involving a sudden "break down" of the car (with absurd photos to proove), to the sick family member, or the last minute absence of their employees. Far to many construction service contractors are cheating foreigners openly in places like Hua Hin and this is the worst image that is given to Thailand.- 20 replies

This for instance could explain the long stay visas much better then me. https://m.iglu.net/best-visas-for-vietnam/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=best_visa_for_VN&gad_source=1 India in the areas like Goa does have some very nice beaches with reasonable cost of living and very simple to get a visa valid for 1 year online. Check out the sites of Kerala or Tamil Nadu tourism. It's like Phuket without all the posing and inflated rates.

Thailand Cuts Visa-Free Stay to 30 Days to Combat Abuse
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Better to consider other countries for that long holiday break if it is to last more then 30 days. Many many other more hospitable countries in the region. -
Boycott of US goods spreading worldwide poor donald
Sigmund replied to 3NUMBAS's topic in Political Soapbox
Totally absurd to say this is "American" when it's Made in Asia or India. I boycott by the price and what costs higher for a smilar item...I really don't give a sh..... from where it comes. Only a fool would say a top US brand say like Apple is fully Made in the USA. Even Germa cars today are half Asian and built in East European countries of the former USSR, if one was to look deeper Nothing is build is the original country of design and conception. -

Iranian tourist goes crazy! Uses syringe to stab hotel staff in Phuket
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Nothing to do with foreigners or tourists. It's all about the drugs of which some are freely available and consumed and others not. Fight rather against drug trafficking....not against foreigners who make this country live with their money. -
Thaksin Dismisses US Sanctions Over Uyghur Deportations
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News

Mosquito Bite Triggers Chronic Illness in British Man Post-Holiday
Sigmund replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
This news needs to be viral spread all over western media as to inform tourists of the dangers of Thailand. The Thai authorities will of course do nothing much to exterminate mosquitos through public fumigation or similar. Such treatments are regularly done in various hot climate areas in South of Europe, with trucks moving and spreading the product that kills mosquitos. And even when the treatment is done in Thailand, as in some villa developpments, they spray a deadly smoke mixed with DDT (that is a deadly agricultural insecticide that is cancer causing to humains) and that is banned in Europe for 40 years -

Oscar Wilde would have said, if thou as a man is miserable, thou should look up to change your wife. -
Why should Trump allow Europe to impose around 20 to 21% VAT and plus other customs duties when the USA was imposing far less ?

Russia Rejects Trump's Temporary Ukraine Ceasefire Offer
Sigmund replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The war started with Ukraine as a proxy, for a fight between the USA-EU and Russia. It's not going to shift into a fight between the US and the EU, with Ukraine of course in the middle serving as Canon meat. Sad for all the innocent who will die on all sides. -
Could Trump's plan fail in a spectacular fashion?
Sigmund replied to spidermike007's topic in Political Soapbox
Yes, throwing out the illegals will leave a few businesses in trouble, mainly for the menial jobs. But it won't last, because soon (and already) robotics with Ai will do these jobs and much more. Thus, uniqualified labour demand will strongly dwindle and vanish on the short term. -
Bring it in cash if you can but of course declare it on departure and arrival as usually most countries require this if it's above 10 or 25k. Have all the necessary bank slips or statements to prove origin of funds and it's withdrawl. Check before with local customs and homeland customs and have email print outs of their response. And all should be fine and you'll get a far better mileage on your bucks in converting it yourself at any exchange booth in Thailand.

The Lefts Response to America & Trump:Tesla Terrorism and ….
Sigmund replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
If one was to make a poll now all over Europe, you would be surprised (or shocked) on the amount of european voters who dream to have Mr Trump run their country or the European Union.
