At the end of the day nobody seems to have a concise and reliable answer to all the doubts of taxing the retirees in Thailand and their pensions. Many retirees in Thailand could start selling their property and perhaps are looking to relocate in other countries in the region that are more foreigner and tax friendly.

Why remain in such a country with so much racism agains foreigners or farangs ? Other countries in Asia are far more welcoming, cheaper cost of living and less harassment from immigration.

As for most issues in Thailand, name and shame the faulty unit's brand and the lousy installer who cannot do the job. Use of course a bogus FB account from a public wifi.

Twice I started to chat a young fine lady in at Bluport mall Hua Hin. Both times they ended up after hanky panky to ask for money. One was direct and honest that she was a freelance apparently and the other was starting to hint for being taken back to the Mall for a shopping spree at my expense. Far more straight forward to entertain at a the local "massage" parlours. Will cost you much less for the same top notch quality females.

What about the tuk tuk drivers who cheat ? The tailors who cheat with bad cloth or bad worksmanship ? The farang real estate developpers who sell crap to foreigners with big technical defects hidden below the ground or behind the walls ? Any justice for the foreign victims who pay and are not liable to proper justice ? Of course not. So who cares for a tag on the road ultimately as long as it's not in front of my condo of course !!!!

For us all that matter is that he gives strict instructions to the embassies abroad to make retirement pensionner visa issues more simple and faster processing for the quality retirees with big spending power from western european countries or America. Stop asking for all those translations and notorised documents. Hire locally people who can at least the local forms and thus stop asking for absurd translations that need to be sent all over the place for a 30 bucks stamp on each passage.

No matter on what type of visa in Thailand, you stay less then 180 days of the fiscal tax year, no issues or no need to file any tax rubbis. This at least is clearly established. Or am I also wrong here ?

Have tourists or expats not learnt yet that the Thai tuk tuk, the official taxi, or the jet ski rentals in Phuket, the Indian tailors on Sukhumvit or the falang real estate developpments in Hua Hin or Phuket are in majority a scam reservoir that one should flee like the plague....not all but many. Take the tailors for instance, either you will be cheated in the quality of cloth that won't be the same as the cloth exposed or if the same, the tailoring will be real crappy and stiched by a cheap startup tailor contractor. It was great before COVID but since , they are all trying to make their money back. Fools continue to pay, fine. Real estate is another playground for the cheats. Beware of those tempting homes, mainly the pool villa leaseholds in Hua Hin, Phuket or some Koh's, that have plumbing or electrical defects that are not visible by the eye at first. There is absolutely small chance to obtain justice as a foreigner so just avoid buying or some occasions even renting in certain developpments. At one's own risk after all...

Qatar Airways prices have increased and that is a sufficient reason to try another carrier.
