A neighbour from France last month was complaining that the sinkflation was becomming a racket in France, and Paris was becomming a highly dangerous place, with shootings and stabbings daily - mainly due to cannabis drug feuds or abuse. Pity as Paris is beautiful but definately a city to avoid for the moment.

And if all the immigration harassment continues, it's not only the bond investors who will leave but also the foreign retiree home owners who bring in lots of money in Thailand.

The golden rule to remember in Thailand is that the clerk or officer behind his counter is God in person when dealing with a pesky foreigner. So "God" makes his own rules that the pesky falang is required to obey by the thumb. Even if the law says the opposite. Welcome to Thailand.

Those remarkable champs in the immigration booths just love to see how they can make a fuss against foreigners. If a foreigner has a been granted a visa valid for x years, the immigration fellow just needs to stamp the entry date and that's it. But we all know depending on which chap or lady one can fall upon they will try to fuss on your health insurance, how much cash you got etc...fully knowing that a retiree can spend in a day, what those lovely people earn in a month maybe. And then they whine why foreigners do not want to come to Thailand.

Very true and amongst the most wealthy are the retirees from Switzerland, like them or not !!

The plan seems to work, .Give those wealthy global pensioneers a ltr and once they are settled, put a hefty tax on their foreign pensions.

Many suggest solar as the solution agains the electric price scamming all over. Very true. But the maintenance of solar pannels that need regular cleaning seems to be overlooked,. Not to mention to find a reliable company to do the setup and that is a job in itself in the Land of Scams. Not to forget the legal paperwork that needs to be submitted and any eventual insurance issues ? Thai Home insurance firms that are far from being customer friendly, even through a broker, often are rather cold on solar pannels with regard to fire issues.

Most of the official thai taxi drivers or tuk tuk drivers are just a bunch of cheats and we all know how they refuse to turn the meter ON and other of their tricks. But that is no reason for farangs to misbehave and be abusive. Many westerners in Thailand have an attitude and think themselves to be in conquered colonised territory. Such people should be plainly deported on the spot and banned from the kingdom on periods of time that depend on the level of their offense.

One calls to ban others call to developp. All depends maybe on which side has invested or interests in the issue ? 😉

Usually it's for the girl's family to pay dowry to the golden goose falang who will be later expected to fund the entire family. Not the other way around. Some guys should get a better sense of inner value.

Nothing is consistent in Thailand, One chap with golden wings and dressed in brown may say it's fine but another at some airport may plainly refuse the document. Why chance ? Change the passport, get a new one and have the visa stamp transferred.

Trying to get more money from the rich falang ? But it's mainly the lawyers who make their buck in all similar cases and not matter where in the world.
