I think the rapid ramping up of legal challenges will bury a lot of the populist rhetoric . Where there are genuine social concerns about/over injustices identified in terms of US legal status little will eventuate beyond extraction of bloated legal fees. Similarly those granted humanitarian entry pending permanent stay or deportation must be provided legal process regardless of Trump's wishes if he wants to maintain a democratic application in denial of autocratic authoritarian dictatorship status. Also Trump will abuse his POTUS status to disguise/deny his extensive debts accrued both as a private citizen and as a political asspirant in the hope that that status will eventually nullify all such debt.

I have a friend who equates "I am a vegan" with significant probability in having std's. Long term veganism apparently results in diminished overall immunity to everything and anything.

Your enthusiasm for US politics is mildly fascinating especially when you fail as an "outside" observer to recognize some sobering realities about Trump's win. Trump succeeded in both securing the Electoral College majority and the popular vote majority. This was not really "landslide" some purport it to be because it was achieved from a total ballot count little different for him than 2020. Which means that despite claims of defection either way is moot in real terms. The most significant aspect is that around 10 million less people voted than 2020 despite the very intense media publicity. Honest analysis indicates that apathy cost Harris the win more so than enthusiasm for Trump. The cause of that apathy is the burning question for the Democrats.

My observation of this thread is that the majority of posts have a wistful desire to continue mutual debate over an event already done. In the short term at very least the prudent response to that event is to wait and see .
