  1. Quite right. Caucasian foreigners even if naturalized are indistinguishable from tourists in the eye and mind of the general Thai population. Other Asians are also not exempt from similar perception even when naturalized even if from multi generational immigrant backgrounds. It is not automatically a negative. Especially so in a more localized community or extended family setting where individual acceptance and appreciation can be achieved. Alternatively consider the constant reference to the origins of many prominent Thai politicians such as Thaksin. I would defy any western Caucasian who in their home country who says they do not register the probable racial origin of a non Caucasian in their home territory. It does not automatically imply anything more than recognition . Discrimination is a different thing because that can present between people of same racial origin such as Caucasians. Naturalized people become Thai citizens but not Thai.
  2. I understand your comment. As a core rule of gun safety it is a rule to never point a gun in the direction of a person. On a movie set or location there could be reasonable expectation that a "prop" gun is exactly that and live lethal ammunition is absent so that under direction to aim and point a "fake " weapon would imply no risk. Sadly there was a fatal lapse in safety protocols and I assume that Baldwin is liable as a part of responsible management process. Involuntary manslaughter is therefore an accurate assessment. To what degree of liability is the more important factor. The nauseous teen who went hunting protestors and was acquitted should be a point of relevence !
  3. It is somewhat surreal to read the opinions here and to also watch the online media opinion which is quite indicative of the reality behind the title of the OP topic. I am not an US citizen but I am naturally cognizant of the importance of US influence on global affairs. Quite obviously the contest to be POTUS then becomes of concern to the global population that has witnessed and suffered as a result of US foreign policies and financial strangulation in enforcement while attempting to maintain global superiority passed off as a demonstration of beneficent applied democracy. The current situation indicates the sad position for US citizens as a choice between the two evils of Big Money versus Big War Machine with lil demons sneaking back and forth between the two !
  4. I extract on an ad hoc basis funds derived from pre taxed savings . I find no reason to declare to the TRD foreign exchange that is 100% entered into the Thai economy. IMHO any foreign individual that is deemed to be a taxpayer to the TRD should also then be eligible for participation in the SS system as are those who pay taxes from employment on work permits. I for one am not about to subject myself to the TRD unless summoned.
  5. If convicted would Home Detention be most appropriate sentence?
  6. Did I detect a click sound ?
  7. For those confused by my above comment : In the world of aftermarket performance fuel additives and octane boosters, three ingredients are used predominantly: methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT), toluene, and variants of trimethylbenzene. What are the main ingredients of paint stripper?:Acetone, toluene, and methanol are chemicals that are commonly used together in paint strippers, and they evaporate quickly and are very flammable. Breathing high levels of these chemicals can cause a variety of effects, including drowsiness, dizziness, and headache.
  8. Unfair ! He seems to attract foot injuries often enough without !
  9. Purely out of banal curiosity the intention to make banana bread was for who? Most Thais I know only have a very small interest in such an item.
  10. I can believe that. In my younger years I was more or less permanently stoned to some degree. It never inhibited my occupation or promotions in that field of occupation. Eventually however the stimulus/ appeal thereof wore off and it became nothing more than a sedative. That was a sort of relief from the underlying stress due to the illegality aspect. Yet in all the time I was a habitual user I was constantly made aware of the more dangerous effects of alternatives such as cocaine and acid tabs which I never felt any need to experiment with. Here in Thailand I have seen how meth, crack, or whatever insidious chemical named poisons have damaged so many because marijuana is too detectable by comparison. And so it was with acid that was popularized before made illegal due to the long term effects and hospitalization of many victims. I have often thought about what has happened to the price of crack or Yah bah since the relaxation of cannabis regulations? I would almost bet it rapidly became much cheaper too. Vested interest in a product is invariably boosted by "banning" and so too prodct in competition. Let the demotivated sector be happy with cannabis. It is a better option to crazed crack heads or manic coke freaks !
  11. That confirms my understanding of the overall situation. I can envisage and predict avoidance schemes will proliferate via some quickly apparent venues that will be legal at face value.
  12. Octane rating. Used to be regulated by lead compounds that were declared poisonous. Replaced now by paint stripper and added alcohol. !
  13. I would like to understand how or why regular infusions of foreign currency by expats on long term visas of any kind other than work visas should be considered more taxable than an affluent tourist who extends visa status for months and who potentially spends more per day but less by duration of stay? Every form of foreign currency that enters Thai is a 100% gain and yet becomes a target for taxable consideration. Encourage "digital nomad" commerce then strip the suckers too ! The backlash may be costly !
  14. Local tax payer funded parades inhibiting usual business on closed streets with Police security ? Try getting a permit for a Real Bloke Parade with same conditions!
  15. What porkies Sam? I could waste energy and extract comments made in topics involving visa applications etc. Made even my new boy time ! Dementia respects nobody it seems !
  16. Read the post again ? Without predjudice for I care not who cares . Is it not normal to interpret information as presented? Or am I expected to b like a Maga fan and swallow without blinking ?
  17. Visa or not he is commenting on the status of people entering his home country while located in Thailand. Am I disallowed to speculate on his right to comment status if he questions others ? Sam is also presumptive enough to now quote longevity in Thailand as 17 years yet in other topics has said comes and goes. I have been in Thailand virtually permanently for 22 years. In the current "woke " climate I have interpreted his forum identity as Tran Sam. He has yet to actually deny my interpretation.
  18. Just review your post ."New Boy" ? Is there some forum protocol that entitles your arrogance and snide <deleted>e? Shove it ! Hard !
  19. 17 years Sam ? That's a shipload of pomposity you expect me to read So nah !
  20. I was actually questioning the validity of your personalized and accusative toward a forum member basically accusing him of support for illegal immigrants while you are making such comment while resident in a country where you are unlikely to have legal resident status yourself. Whats with your pompous stand down crap Sam ? Are you a junior relative of Maggie Thatcher ?
