Don't they all use gas to put you out? How did yours go? Did you get it because you had symptoms?

Thought you were implying that I had to have another US number since you mentioned landlines earlier so I answered that question. Anyway, I have had the google voice number for 14 years. There are periods where I have not used it for many months and it hasn't been an issue. I DO use the gmail account that it's tied to daily, though. Either way, your point seems pretty ludicrous. A. You skipped over the gmail part. B. Your whole 'case' is that they may take back a really awesome offer if you don't actually use it. Nah, not shocking. Definitely boring now lol

I haven't had a US number or been in America for 14 years or so. Still have Google voice number and it's doing fine. That's more than 90 days, right? Try again 😄 It's the internet and tones can come across wrong. To clarify, I am not angry, just incredulous out how silly your statement was. But that's not 100% true. I have read some of your other posts so I am not THAT shocked. It was more of a "wow, did he just really say that? lol" kind of thing.

Landline? What are you, 95? Yeah, google voice works great. I maintain a US number without being there. For free. Works great, thanks! And gmail, too. You pointing out that freakin' podcasts don't work...doesn't mean that their best stuff doesn't work anymore. Evidence? Wtf. You need evidence that gmail works? Go sign up for it, fool!

Pffffftttt! Been using gmail since beta and it's awesome. Google voice, too.

Big-C Return Policy Questions and Concerns

I would say you have been lucky, then. No offense. I will only deal with online orders that have COD options, at this point. -
How do you deal with soi dogs ?
QuantumQuandry replied to TheFatOne's topic in Plants, Pets & Vets in Thailand
That second sentence was pretty unnecessary. Please try to be polite in the future. I would rather know when I am doing something illegal and it's probably worth mentioning, even if you don't personally care. Especially when there might be alternatives that are perfectly legal. -

Is it actually legal for foreigners to carry a collapsible baton, though? -

I get mine from local market, fresher and cheaper than BigC. I use Foodmart for other items, like their bakery section.

I very much agree. I would say that the concept of "There are two sides to the story" is important but probably should have been made in an article where there is a more plausible second side that has been left out. At best, here, he might have some mitigating circumstances (to a degree) but I can't think of anything that would totally condone his actions. Given that all of these "news" articles seem to be constructed only for clicks, there are tons of better opportunities (than this one) to point out that bandwagon-ing and witch-hunting are short-sighted.

Just checked what a Bolt car costs to my normal place. It's more than double at 265. That's NYE level pricing. Checked 5 minutes later. Down to 120. Seems like just a momentary blip to me.

The best thing about KFC back home was the biscuits, which they don't have here. I do like Texas Chicken...but then they went and made their biscuits smaller <shakes fist> I am not eating rice, Asia! You will not get me! lol

Jomtien has Pratamnak next door so I kind of include that in the comparison, making it an easy win for me. Tons of good restaurants, probably more of my favorites than Pattaya. Very accessible via baht bus. Foodmart is a good grocery store. What's not to love?
-
You may be shocked to learn that I don't compare prices to groceries in completely different countries.
-
I think Foodmart is the best grocery in Jomtien OR Pattaya. I find it odd to not consider it a full grocery. I love their baked section, the prices aren't *too* marked up and they actually give me plastic bags instead of having to accumulate 287 'ecobags'. That said, I DO supplement with deliveries from Makro for larger scale stuff and Grab 'greengrocer' for fresh chicken breasts.

Just got back from Jomtien immigration. Got the extension, no problem, using the 65k monthly method. In addition to the normal paperwork, I gave them the bank statements from my Thai account and bank alerts I printed out of email, showing withdrawals from my foreign account. No other proof of pension was provided. Can't guarantee that for anyone else, of course. Just relating my experience, as of today.

The one Chinese man who paid or the two Chinese women who ran without paying their bill? -
Where have all the doggies gone?
QuantumQuandry replied to rexpotter's topic in Plants, Pets & Vets in Thailand
I think it's perfectly ok to like some dogs and not others. I mean, we pretty much all do that with *people*. -
I have no pension statement...as I have no pension. The immigration guy said he "needs something" to show his boss. I asked if bank statement from the sending bank was sufficient. He said yes. I realized I didn't have access to my bank statements on my phone, I asked if "withdrawal alerts" showing the money coming out of my bank in emails would be enough. He said yes. We pick it up tomorrow so I will update then if it was approved. But it has been accepted at immigration, so far and the immigration officer put check marks next to everything so...fingers crossed
