  1. Don't need to marry or get an SRRV to stay in PI indefinitely, anyway. That said, I did end up marrying my Filipina last year to stay in Thailand (or wherever we end up next if Thailand gets too frustrating). Didn't end up experiencing any of those issues but I was with her, which I think can make a big difference.
  2. They pointed to a big sign: And yeah, it's going to be awesome, going to immigration on the 18th with Songkran in full rage mode... Note, Jomtien did not ask an official pension statement from me (which is good since I don't have one). But then again, my passport was only accepted by the officer, I haven't gotten my passport back yet. Not sure if that means I am good to go or if they will reject it for not having a pension statement. Not sure what I will do if they want that.
  3. I applied for my retirement extension a few days ago, using the 65k method, at Jomtien Immigration. They required me to show both the statement from the Thai bank (which, btw, took a week to get...no-one mentioned that part to me lol)...and also some proof of where the funds were coming *from*. Two caveats here: The guy next door that helped me prepare the documents for immigration asked me what they wanted and seem perplexed, indicating that he seemed to have not heard of this before. So it could just be my immigration guy had a bug up his ass. He seemed pleasant enough but...I don't know. The other caveat is that the only thing I had available on my phone were some withdrawal alerts that matched up with the amounts and dates. I asked if that would be ok or if I needed to go home and print off a year of statements from the originating bank. He accepted them. Not sure if that means my extension is likely approved or not. We will see in a few days.
  4. The short answer is...stability. In the rules and enforcement of rules, that affect foreigners.
  5. I certainly don't ask for love. But something slightly above "barely tolerated as long as you give us enough money" would be an improvement.
  6. It wasn't meant to misrepresent your post. You made a reasonable and respectful post. Thank you. I just reply to the parts where I feel I have something to say. That's a fair question. I would still prefer it to be more of a "What normally happens in this situation (absent social media mob sentiment)?" But I wouldn't mind knowing the answer to that, as well, to see just how far the laws will bend to please the masses. I didn't mention it but just to be clear, I do NOT like the guy, either. There is no reason (as far as I know) for his behavior. And certainly, there is a part of me, as a foreigner who avoids trouble, that is upset with him and the way he reflects on me, as a foreigner. My statement was only about the idea of me respecting laws that the government doesn't respect. Because the message to me, here, is "respect the mobs and avoid social media".
  7. No argument there. I don't think that should matter, though, if you want me to respect the rule of law. Well, the question still remains "what is the proper way?". If deportation is the normal punishment, then sure. Now, from a quick googling, it doesn't seem to be the norm, at least, to me: https://magnacarta.co.th/home/faq-section-2/deportation/ Now I am not a lawyer and I didn't even spend much time googling. So if you are aware that it actually is the norm and just has not been mentioned here, then I am sincerely open to respecting calls of deportation and normal enforcement of the law. If that were true, then deporting him would not be the important step, as that won't do anything about the corruption. If that were true, they would apply the laws normally to him and then go after the corrupt cops and apply the law to them, as well. Going after him in no way fixes the corruption. In fact, it furthers it because now you are just following mob justice, instead of police corruption. See, that's the thing...if you deport him, not because that's a normal punishment, but rather, because everyone is upset...then how can I have any respect for the rule of law? It's not about the rule of law, then, it's about social media lynch mobs overpowering the law. To answer your question, yes, you are probably right that doing your best to burn him is what will make the most people happy in the here and now. But that is different than my original comment, which was about respecting laws. Because if the government caves into social media sentiment, then I know they have no respect for their own laws. I am sure this post will get lots of negative reactions. Maybe the mob will come for me, next? lol
  8. Is there a law that requires him to be deported? If not...than maybe the question is...will they respect their own laws?
  9. Well that and social media and "news" organizations. I mean, how many people have actually died or been seriously injured from crimes in Thailand since this started?
  10. I would personally be quite concerned if I thought I should owe taxes and didn't know why I wasn't getting the forms to report it.
  11. I don't think we know anything at all yet. Lots of speculation but I haven't seen any iota of real evidence of anything resembling anything remotely concrete yet.
  12. If you go back to the main page, you can see the status of your submission. It will say pending after you successfully submitted it and accepted after they have processed it.
  13. Pretty sure it's fun for the adults playing, too. That said, I understand that no one wants to be forced into playing a game they don't want to play.
  14. uBlock Origin
  15. My mistake, you are right, it's the apocalypse.
  16. I set up one the other day and there were two drop downs on subsequent pages. If you pick the first one, you continue on and then you get the second drop down with the option you are looking for.
  17. Probably going to be an unpopular opinion, based on the comments so far... but am I the only that thinks everyone is really making a mountain of a molehill, here?
  18. Sorry, didn't think you were serious when you were saying "it's best in the country of Albania, therefore it's equivalent to BKK". Kind of like saying New York City is the same as Majuro (capital of Marshall Islands) because Majuro has the most people in the Marshall Islands. I really thought it was humor, like "Hey, the capital of Albania has the best garbage disposal in all of Albania!".
  19. BKK has 11 million population. Tirana has half a million. Are you joking?
  20. Interesting. I actually use Lifecare and they have always told me there's no preparation or fasting necessary for Creatinine. Was it fasted for another blood test, like FBS?
  21. I have used them, previously, with no issue and was referred there by a friend who had also used them. You can PM me for details if you wish.
  22. That's concerning. Can you elaborate a bit? Which one you think is wrong and why?
