  1. Keeping defensable records when the source account contains a mix of types of sources and also spending is actually quite complicated.
  2. At this point yeah it's all quite the wild east mess.
  3. Sounds like that was lost in translation. Records don't prevent audits. Records are to be prepared for them.
  4. With expats they will often see large remittances so therefore a potential target to audit. They wouldn't want to waste work on dry wells.
  5. There is a way you can definitely avoid any chance of being liable for Thai tax if remitting money to buy a condo. Do not be a Thai tax resident that year! Period. Sorted.
  6. I get why people are flocking to this space. To "help" expats with their Thai taxes. They have a lot of pricing power! Dealing with tax implications for two or more countries they can justify charging a lot. I do my U.S. taxes online for either free or 40 dollars max. But these Thai tax "expert" "specialists" here are really taking people to the cleaners or at least trying to. I'm not saying there aren't some credible and qualified people in the space who apparently legally need to be Thai nationals. But buyer beware big time on this one!
  7. Misinformation. No need to get a TIN or file unless your remitted accessable income is over the threshold. For example if you're only remitting exempt US social security no need for tin or to file.
  8. Imagine retirees using the 800k bank method, topping up, and then having the bank ruins their retirement extension. I think saying banks will withhold remittances is bald faced fear mongering.
  9. ... about Asean. Thai-American war hero amputee U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth is very impressive grilling Trump's totally unquailed Fox News suit nominee for one of the most important offices in the world. Normally you expect a baseline of basic global knowledge from such high officials relating to foreign affairs and conflicts. But not under Trump. What he is qualified to do though is to blindly follow the orders of autocrat elect Trump without any pushback or questioning.

  11. I disagree. It is possible to track the source with mixed source accounts. That's exactly what I will be doing. It is a mess though. You keep mentioning the bank's doing that. I see zero evidence that they ever will.
  12. It must be nice to have the confidence to deride minority groups without threat of consequence as the big man's got your back.
  13. Inclusive of them would be not being the most radically anti LGBTQ regime in American history.
  14. It's not that simple. If you have a mix of accessable and non accessable you need to either separate them or design your own tracking system of sources in a mixed account much more complicated, because that's not something financial institutions are going to do for you. If you mix, first in first out is probably acceptable. I don't believe the banks will do that.
  15. Stop being disingenuous. It's not presented as a gay anthem by maga.
  16. That's the maga narrative which also includes climate change denial. Again -- Californians are not that stupid!
  17. I don't believe that most Californians are as stupid as to buy the maga narrative that this happened because of lesbians.
  18. Many people still seem to need the saying about starting to keep records because you never know.
  19. Many will leave the state as now homeless which will be good for democrats in other states. The maga fascist party is voicing threats to California to not help them recover. So I know how they'll vote. More democratic than ever.
