  1. Here is the podcast about Pattaya. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/pattaya-thailand-with-tweed-harris/id1637780553?i=1000615232542 I strongly suggest that people browse the incredibly diverse destinations on the podcast page to understand the value they offer in covering much less obvious options.
  2. I spent time in Zihaut with a Filipino sort of boyfriend. The trip ended it ha ha. I hated Ixtapa very tacky tourist trap for dumb gringos. I.don't see the area as appealing to gay retirees but Zihaut is charming to visit.
  3. Homophobic posts are not allowed on the gay forum. Now you know. If you don't like that complain to management not me.
  4. It is during summer plus hurricanes.
  5. To repeat I think the real value in the Where Gays Go To Retire podcast is in its coverage of much less obvious destinations than places like Puerto Vallarta and Wilton Manors Ft. Lauderdale.
  6. Yes very much so. But there are other great options in Mexico as well. I'd consider PV myself but as is typical for very popular places its become over priced.
  7. Those would be more apt in a topic titled where gays go to be executed.
  8. Anyway for anyone that is actually interested in this topic I suggest a close look at the podcast link. There you will find interviews with gay people who have actually retired to a very wide list of destinations who talk about their experiences there both in general and more on brand related to gay specific aspects there. So if this topic gets buried by the usual ignorant hecklers, at least reference to that useful resource will remain and perhaps be helpful to some people.
  9. What's that supposed to mean?
  10. Then go away! This is a gay forum topic.
  11. It's not bizarre at all. We're getting into borderline hostile responses.
  12. Watch the video and sample some of the podcasts if you're really interested.
  13. The options are.much much wider than such more stereotyped places. About those you missed the most obvious in the US, Wilton Manors (Ft. Lauderdale) and Palm Springs and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. An example of the much more surprising Rochester New York for trans people and Cleveland Ohio for lots of gay culture and support services combined with affordable housing. Yeah most gay people can't afford places like Palm Springs. Ironically I have a relative who has invited me to move in to her luxurious new custom built house on the Delaware shore close enough to Rehoboth. That might be tempting but the area has incredibly high housing costs plus a shortage of doctors for Medicare patients so even if I was offered a break on rent there would be inevitable bad feelings and resentment because there is no way I could afford market rent there. Plus a car required.
  14. Turns out (who knew?) that gay people in retirement have some issues and concerns that are beyond the heteronormative universe. The Where Gays Retire Facebook page and podcast is international in scope and tries to cover these issues and concerns on top.of the usual ones that are more general. Yes there is a podcast about Pattaya! It's by an American so although International destinations are covered US choices dominate. Lots to explore. If you find something interesting in all this, please comment. Interview with founder Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/where-do-gays-retire-podcast/id1637780553 FB where do gays retire Facebook to apply for group membership if interested This topic is specifically for LGBT people. Hostile anti LGBT comments are extremely unwelcome.
  15. I want to speak to that. I don't celebrate the deaths of any soldiers per se but in the harsh reality of a war situation when the Ukrainian defenders take over 1000 Russian army terrorists off the field of battle every day I am happy to see that as a sign Ukraine has a chance to win. Fascist dictator Putin doesn’t even care about the lives of his own meat grinder terrorist soldiers (mostly poor, minorities, and from remote province) so to him Ukrainian civilians are less than nothing.
  16. If convicted his numerous appeals will last for years anyway. This is just noise.
  17. They're on completely different sides on the Russian war on Ukraine. He's just making a play for the stupider set of her supporters.
  18. Trump always projects attacks of what he is. Classic fascist move.
  19. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. They were rather too personal for me to feel comfortable answering directly. Suffice it for me to repeat that repatriation is not my preference and that I see it as a last resort.
  20. I agree. What really gets me about these western Z bozos is how hard they're working to get others to join them.
