Technically in the U.S. system you are not found innocent of crimes. The best you can do is NOT GUILTY. Meaning there wasn't enough evidence to convict without a reasonable doubt if it was a fair trial. There was some ambiguity in the Rittenhouse case but there are cases where I see no problem calling unconvicted people murderers. OJ Simpson comes to mind.
