  1. To answer this poll accurately you need to first calculate your net worth (basically all assets minus all liablities) and then compare to the chart in this link. Age of head of family Median net worth Average net worth Less than 35 $13,900 $76,300 35-44 $91,300 $436,200 45-54 $168,600 $833,200 55-64 $212,500 $1,175,900 65-74 $266,400 $1,217,700 75+ $254,800 $977,600 The Average Net Worth by Age: How Does Yours Compare? - NerdWallet Note the massive difference between median and average amounts. In case you don't understand what those terms mean: Average Vs Median: What's The Difference? » Differencess I think the median figure is much more relevant as outliers like Elon Musk massively distort the averages. Note there is a net worth calculator in the link.
  2. I grew up with Reader's Digest being an aggressively NON controversial publication that you'd read in places like dentist's waiting rooms. So I was rather surprised to see their current enthusiasm for Thailand -- both traveling here and indeed moving here in retirement. I’ve Been to 60 Countries, but These 6 Changed Me Forever (msn.com) The country out of 60 that feels like a second home to the author? Thailand. The Best Places to Retire Around the World | Reader's Digest (rd.com) Thailand Number One! Yes, it's not really that cheap, is it?
  3. So the people in his district that don't identify as Christian nationalists he does not represent?
  4. You need to check whether Any Desk supports WOL with cable. As shown before TeamViewer does. You say your sister has IT Help. Why not just set it up so that you can login to her router LAN software and then you can WOL your device through that connected wirelessly. I don't recommend a Windows laptop for this. I recommend a cheap box with Linux instead.
  5. The U.S. And The Holocaust Excellent documentary on an under reported historical topic by national treasure and Hampshire College's greatest alumni Ken Burns. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2023/jan/10/the-us-and-the-holocaust-review-unmissable-ken-burns-doc-reveals-how-hitler-was-inspired-by-america Review The US and the Holocaust review – unmissable Ken Burns doc reveals how Hitler was inspired by America The revered documentary-maker brings us a fascinating and unflattering portrait of a nation built on a myth of immigration. This is six hours of television well worth your time
  6. New mobilization soon. You are totally wrong. A healthy percentage of traveling Russians these days to Thailand and other places they can enter without a visa is related to fleeing mobilization. y
  7. I think that for most people the most common tell and complaint is the LOUDNESS! I've been guilty of this myself. My excuse is ear damage from that time I went to a Dead Kennedy's concert at Mabuhey Gardens.
  8. The US leads the world in elite universities such as Stanford but overall yes the education is rather <deleted> for the masses.
  9. Yeah but hearing your language raises my blood pressure.
  10. This special fleeing mobilization operation was as predictable as poop in tochus. Some are rich but most are not.
  11. Georgia would have been a wiser choice. One year stays on entry renewable by border run.
  12. Certainly not. Departing them could be a death sentence.
  13. Anyways is atrocious but I defend could care less. It's not about logic. It just flows better. Being terminally literal is unhealthy.
  14. Anglophilia is definitely a thing. One of my first jobs was under a British expat in San Francisco. He said he hired me because I said my favorite author was Evelyn Waugh.
  15. This list is funny. Non-Americans Sharing Signs Someone Is From The US (buzzfeed.com) I'm definitely less American than when I moved to Thailand but I think it's true, almost all Americans are doing some things that are obvious tells. I hear this all the time. Non-Americans asking Americans abroad where they are from and they answer with the state. It's so cringe. Like if someone says California (I used to do that!) it's usually them trying to communicate that they're blue not red as if the foreigner cares about that code. What would you add to the list? Being fat obviously but that isn't specific to Americans. I do have a memory of my first trip abroad in Austria with two friends (as teens). We were on this tour of some kind of cave ride and the guy helping us looked at us and said he would have never guessed we were Americans. What a compliment!
  16. Not only me. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/nov/04/the-american-civil-war-didnt-end-and-trump-is-a-confederate-president The American civil war didn't end. And Trump is a Confederate president His supporters hark back to an 1860s fantasy of white male dominance. But the Confederacy won’t win in the long run
