  1. Enjoying the new limited miniseries Franklin starring the legendary Michael Douglas based on the true story of Benjamin Franklin's mission in France to help the USA even exist. Expansion of the lesser known story of his grandson Temple is very interesting. History doesn't repeat, but it does rhyme, and it's hard to watch this without thinking of Ukraine.
  2. Some other points I have gleaned -- Getting taurine by eating lots of meat is not a good idea because that would be a high cholesterol diet. But sure eat meat if you like it. There has been a study on monkeys that was favorable. Obviously monkeys are very close to humans compared to mice. As said before, do not OD on energy drinks! There is a medical consensus that Taurine supplementation is a very bad idea for young people. But this topic is about those already old. I asked why not? Well one reason is the nature of supplements. Not really regulated. Is this dose really the dose on the label? Are there are added toxic ingredients on top of the taurine if it is even taurine. So far, that seems like the best reason not to do it. Though the very same could be said about ALL supplements and many of us (including me) take other supplements!
  3. I assume in a well stocked supplement shop but I buy everything online anyway. I'm not aware of a recommended dose for potential life extension as this would be considered experimental at this time. Does anyone have more info on dosage?
  4. Not forever. Longer? Why not if you're healthy enough to enjoy it. I had an older relative who finally had everything well set up, financially very secure for many decades if she had that long, in a very happy housing situation with lots of social interaction, friends, even probably lovers. It lasted only a few years. What a waste. Another 20 years would have been wonderful.
  5. This war has been Iran vs. Israel all along. Those siding with the Palestinians are siding with Iran. They have their axis now -- Russia / Iran / North Korea / China. Act like this isn't happening if it makes you happier.
  6. That's such an understatement.
  7. I assume that the prenuptial that she signed locks her in.
  8. If you're older, money has much much less value than TIME. I have no idea of doses but I checked on Lazada and the supplements aren't expensive, so that objection is a non issue. Again, I'm not recommending that anyone do this. But I am asking -- if you're old already, why not?
  9. Not putting this on a health topic because no responsible health practioner is going to advise taking a supplement for a hoped for result that hasn't been tested on humans. I am not recommending it either, not that I have any medical credibility on the topic either way. So this is more of a general discussion / philosophy topic. You may have heard that Taurine has shown very good results in life extension in mice. This is the same ingredient that is found in energy drinks, but energy drinks have lots of other stuff. Apparently, to get a roughly equivalent dose you'd need to drink 5 energy drinks a day and you don't want to do that! But wait. Taurine itself is available in supplements. Apparently, Taurine in reasonable doses is not known to be harmful but if you try it for life extension you wouldn't know -- if it would work at all (no human research) what the optimal dose would be even though you can rough guess (no human research) if perhaps it would be harmful taken over a long time (no human research) So this cannot and is not recommended as we wait (for how long? decades?) for human research to be done. So here's the 64,000 baht question. If you're already old, you don't have the time to wait for the human research. Would it really be so crazy for such people to take taurine supplements now? What do they have to lose if it's a mistake? Obviously much less than younger people.
  10. Well, a more basic question. If a person brings in money that was saved over time (not recently earned) is that of interest to Thai tax?
  11. Opinions sure. Racist ad hominem attacks. Hopefully not but apparently so.
  12. He wouldn't understand or agree that it is if it was explained to him. A hopeless case.
  13. Is there any updated info on whether money transferred in that was withdrawn from a US taxable IRA account would be covered by DTA and thus not countable as part of the Thai threshhold calculation?
  14. What if you have other (assessible transferred in) income on top of DTA income but the non DTA portion still under the level where it would taxed in Thailand. Still no need to file?
  15. Do what you want troll. You had no business bringing up my identity as ammunition to attack my point. If you're so dense that you don't get how messed up that is, that's your problem.
  16. I said nothing about your race, ethnicity or religion.
  17. Bull<deleted> facilitator.
  18. Read your post and so many others. You disregarded my opinion because of my identity. DISGUSTING! Identities of members are not the topic. You're so deep down your sick rabbit hole of irrational demonization that you may well be blind to it.
  19. Anyone paying attention.
  20. Again proving you are a Jew hater.
