I am "extreme left wing," but not a misogynist. I called this fencer she and her because that is how she would want to be referred to, and that is the gender this fencing tournament allowed her to compete in. I don't know their rules or whether they apply any physical, hormonal, or DNA tests, but whatever the case, they allowed her to compete as a woman. I used the quote marks in my comment above in deference to those on these forums who don't accept transsexuals and her participating as a woman in sports. I didn't use quotes in this comment since deference is not applicable to anyone who calls me names and insults me.

Arrest her, make her pay for all the damages, put her in jail for at least 30 days, and then deport her.

I assume "taking a knee" is a valid sign of yielding a match in fencing, like tapping on your opponent in wrestling or staying down or your knee in boxing. If so, I don't think this woman should have been "disqualified" from the entire tournament, but only given a loss in this one match. As far as her transgender opponent is concerned, if "she" was qualified under the tournament rules, then that is all that matters, not the opinions of "her" opponents.

I don't favor him now; I never have and never will. And, yes, it does seem that in certain polls, the majority, or at least a large plurality, of US citizens polled support him. That, however, does not change my opinion. I'd rather be in the minority than support Trump and his government administration.

We'd be a lot better off to quit trying to go into space and concentrate our efforts and resources on ceasing to destroy the planet we live on. 😞

I'm not a Hamas supporter or defender. I'm not a far-right, Israeli IDF supporter, either. There are plenty of atrocities being committed by both sides. My only hope is that somehow, an agreement can be reached to stop all the torture and killing.

If you really think that, then it sounds like you're supporting how Hamas is responding to these Palestinians demonstrating against them. Anyone who has values different from yours and expresses them should not be denigrated. It's okay to contradict them and engage them in discussions, and they should definitely not be arrested unless they are committing a crime.

I'm not okay with racism and sexism. That is why I support DEI. It's an attempt to right the wrongs of previous racism and sexism by helping establish Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. I am a far-left lefty, but don't really ascribe to a "voting block (sic)." Although I usually vote Democrat, I would vote for any candidate in any party who best fits my values.

I just don't understand how our government could think it could put any pressure on a private company (Disney?) for its diversity efforts. I know now that if a private company receives any federal aid (like some universities), it can be put under pressure to do what the government wants, but not a truly private company. I, of course, as a far-left liberal, support DEI and hope more companies and organizations continue to deploy it.

Virtually EVERYONE takes sides nowadays, and if you're perceived to be on the "other side," you're denigrated, such as was done above. My original post (which is above also) doesn't take a side. It is aimed at both sides because both sides tell lies about, exaggerate failures, and denigrate the other side.

Did you just read the headline and no bother to read the article ? No, I only read the headline. That's enough for me to get the gist of the article. I did now read (skim through) the article, and stand by my remark above. Even many Israelis are demonstrating against Netanyahu for not making a deal to bring all the hostages home. Also, in my home country, Palestine supporters are being denigrated and some (visa-holders) even arrested. 😞

My only point was that my previous claim of "4%" was wrong. I did look it up before I posted that and posted what I thought I'd found, but now I think the percentage might have been .4% and not 4%.
