  1. I would have no problem with labeling sports "women" and "open." Women have competed in men's sports occasionally in the past, like these seven golfers who participated in men's professional golf... Exploring the 7 women including Lexi Thompson who have played at a Men’s PGA Tour event. I did like your use of the word "observed" to describe how a person is assigned a gender at birth. I think without more in-depth testing of chromosomes, and hormones that don't really develop until puberty, a doctor ought to now assign a person's gender at birth as "TBD" (To Be Determined). I did believe there were only two genders and that I could tell them apart when I was 4. And then I didn't care who I played ball with or went inside the same bathroom. Also, I was "woke" when I was 4. Societal pressures lulled me to sleep sometime after that, but thankfully, I became "woke" again when I was about 30. I'm 79 now and have learned a lot in the past 75 years, not from "media brainwashing" but from scientific and biological reports. I'm 79 now and have learned a lot in the past 75 years, not from "media brainwashing" but from scientific and biological reports. And my life has been amazing! 🙂
  2. So, both trans women and trans men can participate in men's sports, correct? I assume the "supreme court" you mention above is the UK Supreme Court. I saw part of their ruling, and they claimed their gender ruling, which defines male and female, is made on a "biological" basis. That's not true. This ruling is being made on a legal basis, an "either-or" basis. The true biological basis is that there is no such absolute "either-or" distinction. Gender, male and female. are made up of traits, which include physical, hormonal, and chromosomal, that are all shared between both genders. What we call "male" is someone who, from a cursory examination (mainly physical), is thought to have a large percentage of male characteristics. The same goes for females. But the facts are, there are some (I don't know the percentage, but I've seen it claimed to be as high as 3%. (https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/trans-population-by-country), whose physical, homonal, and/or chromosomal makeup is somewhere in between. That is the biological basis for trans people. (And, I am above 4 years old. In fact, I'm above 74 years old. )
  3. I understand your (and most people's) opinion on this, but what I have said is I NEVER SEE any mention of trans men in all these governmental actions that involve trans women. That's all I'm saying... And, as I'm sure you probably know, we (the USA) used to have that same binary classification of White and non-White. Even just 50 years ago, non-Whites were not allowed to play sports with Whites. But, because as time went by there were more and more mixed-race people, we eventually declared that if someone was only 1/4 or 1/8 or even 1/16 Black, they could be considered White. (The percentage varied from state to state.) Now, of course, all races are (supposedly) treated equally. I hope that will be the same with how we think of gender in the future.
  4. Thanks for the clarification, but I think you have extrapolated that from how trans women are to be treated. It seems to me that whenever ANYTHING is brought up about trans women, there is never a mention of trans men. An easy example is that there is a big hubbub about disqualifying trans women from taking part in women's sports, but I have NEVER seen any mention of whether trans men should also be disqualified from participating in men's sports. WTF? Do we have women's sports and men's sports, or women's sports and everyone-else sports?
  5. I don't have to go to a neighbor to find a country that now promotes capitalism, which did so after a mass slaughter. How about what the founders of the US did to the native Indians?
  6. Much the same happens with any visa overstay in a lot of countries. Simple arrest. Then booted out. Why involve lawyers in this matter? I note the guy was a student in the USA for a decade. Who was the slow learner...him.....or the government? Lawyers should be involved because in the USA, the accused may engage (or be assigned) a lawyer to represent him. I think neither could be called "slow learners." But I certainly could categorize the USA now as "rapidly ignoring" our constitution. 😞
  7. Thanks for your very thorough and detailed reply to my previous comment. I'm glad to hear that Khalil will be given the opportunity to contest the charges. I am disappointed that a visa holder can lose their visa for being "antisemetic" (anti-Jewish) and expressing their opinions on that. I agree with our government's being opposed to being anti-anything that is based on race, religion, country of origin, native language, etc. But I do not agree that being any of those things and expressing your views on that should be a reason for visa cancellation and deportation. I do believe criminal actions (felonies, not misdemeanors) are valid bases for revoking visas and deportation. By the way, in response to the banner on your image logo (I Stand with Israel), I must confess that now, after what has happened since the horrendous attack on Dec 7 a year and a half ago, I Stand with Palestine. And, I don't consider that an anti-Semitic act.
  8. I'm a US citizen, but I sympathize with the problems the UK is now having. They are much the same as ours (USA), but I think ours are much worse. Is Britain and the USA lost? I hope not, and I think not, but recovering from these current crises will take a long, long, and turbulent time.
  9. How do they know that they're trans women until they strip search them? Are they required to verify their GRC or get a copy of their birth certificate before they determine who should strip search them? Also, and I ask this in all these reports of how to treat trans women, what about trans men? Who searches them?
  10. I won't expect you to respond to this, but what you've written above doesn't answer my question. What specifically is it he is accused of doing? Is it speaking out against Israel or against the USA's support of Israel? And if that's the case, why isn't that free speech? It certainly is when I do so (at least for now 😉), I have assumed ICE thinks he's been physically involved with the anti-Israeli demonstrations when they broke the law, and maybe even attacking Jewish students. Now, if he has done either of those, then I could understand this better - but even then I still believe he has to be charged, tried, and found guilty before deciding to deport him.
  11. You left wing extremists lead to one thing every single time: mass slaughter. Your ideas are repugnant to the vast majority of people on earth, which requires you to brutally kill any opposition. I have no idea where you ever got the idea that I was suggesting "mass slaughter" or "to brutally kill any opposition." That's just not the case. I'm in favor of democracy, or at least a democratic republic style of government, like the USA has now. I am also in favor of a more socialist economy and government-sponsored social efforts designed to raise the living standards of those who now have a low standard of living, even if it lowers the living standards of those who now have a high standard of living.
  12. that was the second thought, yes. first thought was that you were jewish, since you're rabidly anti-white like they are. No, I'm not Jewish. In fact, with all that's happened over there in the past couple of years, I'm beginning to be anti-Jewish. And, I'm White and am not anti-White. I'm pro-social justice.
  13. Because hes having having his educational visa revoked by the Government and h will have to leave the USA . A few months ago the pro Palestinians were running riot , causing a disruption and trying to influence USA politics . Foreigner students paid for by Countries hostile to the USA trying to influence USA politics . They succeeded under Biden ., It all changed when Biden went and Trump came along . The Palestinians actually could have encouraged people to vote for Trump You didn't answer either of my questions above. No one should have their visa revoked because they exercise their right to free speech, whether that be pro-Palestinian, pro-Ukrainian, or even pro-White supremacy. If they break a law (charged, tried, and convicted - and I would expect that would have to be a felony, not just a misdemeanor), then I agree, they should have their visa revoked and deported if they don't leave on their own. I have no comments on the Biden/Trump association. I don't know anything about that.
  14. There are no countries that have an exclusively socialist economy. You may be right about a Keynesian economic system. I'm sure I've read that it was a mix of capitalism and socialism, but I couldn't find anything to support that online. The best I could come up with was a "mixed economic system," which is defined as a blend of capitalism and socialism. (Mixed Economic System: Characteristics, Examples, Pros & Cons) In any event, that's what the USA and most Western countries have. Socialism is an economic system in which everyone contributes as much as they can, and the government meets everyone's individual needs as much as it can.
  15. As KhunLA stated, That 'splains a lot. Actually, I just recently started also watching the BBC. I like CNN, but I'm just sick of hearing about Trump, and about 90% of CNN's reporting seems to be about something he's done. The BBC's reporting seems to have less than 50% news regarding Trump.
  16. Then what so called "economy" did a "communist" country like the ex USSR etc use? According to my research on the Internet, the USSR's economy was called a "Command Economy." See this link for more details... Soviet Union Economy: Summary & Type | StudySmarter
  17. The UK should use the DEI model when hiring or promoting. This is (IMO): - Know the racial makeup of the community in which the business or organization operates. This could be local or nationwide. - Set forth a set of MINIMUM requirements; - Consider ALL applicants that meet the minimum requirements; When deciding which qualified applicant should get the job or promotion, consider race ONLY if the business 'or organization's workforce's racial makeup is not approximately the same as that of the community in which it operates.
  18. I have no problem with anyone, including celebrities (or former ones 😉 ), speaking about their political views. I don't really care what Clooney said, but I did think that Biden was too old to serve another 4 years as president. If he had run, I would have voted for him. I would vote for ANYONE who was running against Trump. I thought, before he withdrew, that he would run, and if he would win, he would soon resign as president, which would have given that office to his vice-president, which I assumed would have been Harris. So, voting for Harris was no big deal for me. I believed if Biden ran and won, Harris would have soon been president anyway.
  19. No, it does not. The video in this thread shows the camera car stopped in the right lane and the songthaew that hit them in the lane to that car's left. Yes, I mistyped. I mean the car that hit them was in the left lane..
  20. To my knowledge, no country has had a communist economy. China certainly doesn't. They call themselves communist, and we call them communist, but they aren't. If they were, everyone would have equal access to everything. There would be no money and no private ownership, and there certainly would not be any rich and poor people. All would be equal.
  21. Yes, I am a socialist. I do know that some countries that claimed to be socialist failed, but I'm hoping we (humans) can eventually evolve to where we can thrive in a socialist economic system. 🤞 Today, most countries have what is called a "Keynesian" economic system, which means they are part capitalism and part socialism. For example, in my home country, the USA, all services offered that start with "public" are socialistic systems, like public roads, public forests, public schools, public libraries, etc. The argument isn't so much whether we should have socialistic systems as what the ratio should be between capitalistic (private, entrepreneurial) and socialistic features. And, of course, the ultimate goal is communism. 👍But that's a long, long way off and would require us (humans) to greatly reduce our greed and selfishness... 🙁
  22. Of course, that is horrible. The video shows that the driver who hit them was in a lane to the right of a car that had stopped for them. I assume that is why the driver didn't see them. Anyway, when crossing the street, I am very careful. I usually try to wait until there are no cars at all. In a situation like this, I would hesitate after walking past the first car and look to the left (and right) to see if any other cars were coming.
  23. I've lived in Thailand, outside my native country of the USA, for over 30 years. I haven't returned to the USA for about 20 years now.
  24. No, we left-wing socialists, at least extremists like me, want to see the general public's standards rise. This includes both naturally born US citizens and immigrants from other countries, and it also applies to all people living in other countries. The way to do this is not to concentrate on the most advanced among us but on the least advanced. Raising their standards will raise the average for everyone, even if that means lowering the standards for those most advanced. This is a typical left/right divide, IMO, on how to approach society. I often refer to that in short by equating it to the difference in the first letter of a two-letter word. The left wants to concentrate on the whole of society (WE), whereas the right wants to concentrate on the singled-out uppermost section of society (ME).
  25. Thanks for the update. As long as he gets due process, I'm okay with him eventually being deported. I just worry that many of these alien visa-holders are not getting due process, or are being penalized for what I consider to be free speech.
