Upon inspection of the vehicle, the resident discovered the driver had been shot and immediately alerted authorities. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim may have stopped to interact with the suspect, as indicated by the fully lowered driver's window. During the exchange, the assailant fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene on a motorbike. The victim's car subsequently rolled across the road before coming to rest in bushes. She is accused of multiple offences, including the possession, importation, and distribution of firearms and ammunition prohibited by Thai law, as well as handling stolen goods. Evidence seized during the arrest included two mobile phones, a bank account ledger, and bank transaction records. The investigation began in December 2022, when CSD officers arrested Pol. Sgt. Narubet and eight accomplices for stealing M16A1 rifles stored in the Bang Khen Border Patrol Police Armoury. The stolen weapons were subsequently sold to various buyers, including Karen military forces. Further investigations led to the arrest of Pol. Lt. Col. Nakharin in February 2023, who admitted to acting as an intermediary for the sale of the weapons to Madam Tumm. He also disclosed that Sergeant Major Kittisak had supplied him with 43 M16A1 rifles from the Bang Khen armoury over two transactions, valued at over 3 million baht. Police surveillance and intelligence gathering revealed that Madam Tumm was residing in Umphang district, Tak province. On January 17, at approximately 09:00, the Surat Thani branch of the Thai Maritime Enforcement Command Centre (TMECC), led by Captain Natthaphon Sinpoonphon, was alerted by the captain of the fishing vessel W. Subchanon (registration number 574300XXX). The captain reported that crew member Mr. Peechanon had suffered a critical injury while on board. The incident occurred when a rope equipped with a U-clamp, a device used to secure objects, snapped back forcefully, striking Mr. Peechanon in the back. The blow caused a long laceration and significant blood loss. In response, rescue vessel Tor 266 was dispatched, accompanied by a medical team from Koh Samui Hospital. After over three hours of travel, the rescue team located W. Subchanon, which was stationary in open waters. The medical team boarded the fishing boat to assess the injured man. Initial examinations revealed that Mr. Peechanon was extremely weak due to blood loss. He was immediately transferred to Tor 266, where first aid was administered during transit to Koh Phangan Hospital, the nearest medical facility. Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors conducted a detailed examination and confirmed that Mr. Peechanon had sustained a punctured lung, fractured ribs, and an 8-centimetre-long tear on his back caused by the U-clamp. The hospital stabilised his condition, and he is now out of danger. He will remain in Koh Phangan Hospital for further treatment and recovery. -- 2025-01-19

The victim, identified as Mr Wuttiphong, was found lifeless in the middle of the road. Nearby, his green-and-black Kawasaki Ninja 600cc motorbike was discovered on the central reservation, along with a Toyota Revo pickup truck with front-end damage to its right bumper. Evidence at the scene included scrape marks along the median and a flattened tree. The pickup truck driver stated that he was driving towards Khae Rai junction when the motorbike suddenly lost control and crossed over the median into his path. Despite his efforts to swerve, the collision was unavoidable. Ms Mukda, 21, the victim’s girlfriend, revealed that Mr Wuttiphong had been heading to work at a shopping centre on Srisamarn Road from his residence in Bang Pho. She became concerned after being informed he had not clocked in for work. Upon calling his phone, a rescue worker answered and informed her of the accident. Through tears, Ms Mukda shared that she had recently warned him to drive more carefully as his birthday was approaching next month. She had planned to buy him a new helmet as a gift since his current one, which she had previously purchased, was old. The couple had also discussed taking a beach trip, but the tragic crash cut those plans short. Police have recorded statements from the pickup driver and are reviewing CCTV footage to determine whether the motorbike had been involved in an earlier collision or if the rider lost control independently. The theft occurred on the night of January 17, at Smok XXX, a cannabis store in the Pu Dam Market in Krabi Town. CCTV footage from the shop captured the two foreigners engaging a staff member in conversation before one of them, a tall man carrying a shoulder bag, discreetly pocketed the jar of cannabis while the employee was distracted. The two men then quickly left the store.. The shop staff only realised the jar, containing 12 grams of cannabis, was missing after the pair had already fled. The stolen cannabis is valued at 4,000 baht. Following the incident, the shop filed a police report with Krabi City Police Station and posted the CCTV footage on social media to raise awareness. A reward of 2,000 baht has also been announced for anyone providing information that leads to the suspects’ apprehension. Mr. James an employee at Smok XXX, recounted the incident: “The two tourists came in as regular customers. They purchased cannabis flowers worth 1,200 baht and paid as usual.
