Theerapong Lorthonglang of Bang Pakong Police Station received a report of a body found inside a parked white Toyota pickup truck, registration from Bangkok. The vehicle was located at kilometre marker 42+300 in Bang Wua Subdistrict, Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province, heading towards Chonburi. Upon arrival, police and rescue teams found the vehicle parked near the left roadside barrier with its engine off. Inside, the driver, identified as Mr. Adun Haye, a 52-year-old resident of Hat Yai, Songkhla Province, was discovered slumped across the front seats. His body, which was beginning to decompose, emitted a foul odour from the partially opened windows. No injuries or evidence of foul play were found on his body, and there were no signs of a crash around the vehicle. The employer, Mrs. Nisarath Plodfak, 49, and her husband had been searching for Mr. Adun. She reported that Mr. Adun had been driving to pick up machinery in Chumphon on 5 January at 08:30 and planned to deliver it to Lat Krabang in Bangkok before heading to Chanthaburi to collect mangoes. His last communication was at 10.00 on 5 January, when he mentioned feeling unwell and stopping to rest. When Mr. Adun failed to answer calls on 6 January, Mrs. Nisarath became concerned and reported him missing to the Romklao Police Station in Bangkok. With assistance from rescue teams, they traced his route and found his vehicle on the motorway. Pol. Sub. Lt. Theerapong stated that the initial investigation showed no evidence of foul play or crash. It is believed Mr. Adun passed away in his sleep. Police Lieutenant Suttipong Sangthet, Deputy Inspector at Khok Samrong Police Station, responded to the crash at the sharp curve near Wat Wang Krathum. Emergency services, including the Khok Samrong Rescue Foundation and a rapid-response fire unit, rushed to the scene. The incident took place on a four-lane road notorious for its sharp bends. UPDATE Picture courtesy of ThaiRath A 24-year-old man accused of shooting a 23- year-old man dead at a petrol station in Songkhla has surrendered to police, claiming he acted out of anger after being insulted. The fatal shooting occurred at approximately 05.00 on 5 January, at a petrol station on Kanjanavanich Road in Prik subdistrict, Sadao district. CCTV footage captured the suspect firing eight shots at the victim at close range, killing him instantly. On 7 January, at 11.00, the suspect, identified as Mr. Anuchit Buu, known by the nickname "Kea," turned himself in to police at the Songkhla Provincial Investigation Unit in Hat Yai, accompanied by his lawyer and relatives. He surrendered to Pol. Col. Dusit Pormromsin, Songkhla Provincial Investigation Superintendent, and Pol. Lt. Col. Ekaphop Musikapuk, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation. Mr. Anuchit had been wanted on an arrest warrant issued by the Na Thawi Provincial Court for three charges: premeditated murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and carrying a firearm in a public place without a permit or valid justification. During questioning, Mr. Anuchit partially admitted to the charges, claiming he shot the victim, Mr. Nadol Sutthimit in a fit of rage after being insulted. However, he provided no further details. Police transferred the suspect to Sadao Police Station, the jurisdiction where the crime occurred, for further questioning and to proceed with legal action. Investigators from the Songkhla Provincial Police and Sadao Police Station had been working to gather evidence and track down the suspect. CCTV footage and witness testimonies led to the identification of Mr. Anuchit as the perpetrator, prompting the court to issue the arrest warrant. At the scene, authorities discovered the victim, identified as Mr. Amnat, a resident of Village 6, Ta Nern sub-district, Nern Sanga district. He was found wearing a black shirt and black trousers. The impact left his body severely disfigured and partially mutilated. Nearby, a pair of neatly placed shoes, along with a mobile phone and a lighter, were found on the railway track. At approximately 04:50, police from Samrong Tai Police Station were alerted to a multi-vehicle collision and a subsequent fire near Wat Maha Wong intersection, heading toward Phra Pradaeng Pier. Firefighters and rescue units from the Pu Chao Saming Phrai Municipality and the Ruamkatanyu Foundation were dispatched to the scene. The crash site revealed a wrecked 18-wheeler from Bangkok, its cab engulfed in flames. Behind the cab, six large CNG cylinders were located, prompting authorities to cordon off the area and redirect traffic to prevent further danger. Firefighters battled the blaze for over 30 minutes before bringing it under control. The collision involved four vehicles that had been waiting at a red light. I hit the first vehicle, and then the windshield shattered, and a fire started. I had to jump out to save myself,” he explained. The driver of the Toyota pickup, Mr. Den, 53, described how the trailer truck veered from the right lane and crashed directly into the back of his vehicle. The force of the collision caused his pickup to collide with the car in front of him. Police have documented the scene and interviewed witnesses. At approximately 10:30, the Nakhon Pathom radio dispatch received reports of a woman armed with a knife attempting to rob the Ek Anan Gold Shop located inside the shopping centre. Local police officers, led by Police Colonel Phupan Tapcharoen, responded to the scene, along with investigation and patrol units. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Thitima Charoensuk, carrying a red cloth bag containing a knife approximately 30 cm in length. Thitima was immediately apprehended and arrested for attempted robbery and carrying a weapon in public without a legitimate cause. The incident was reported by Kiriya Aramrasmee, a 38-year-old deputy manager of the gold shop. Kiriya stated that the suspect had entered the store, demanding five baht of gold, and threatened to use the knife to carry out the robbery. Fearing for her safety, Kiriya contacted emergency services, alerting the authorities of the situation. Thitima, noticing the police had been contacted, quickly exited the store, but Kiriya followed her closely while providing updates to the police. The incident took place near an auto repair shop, where the red plated EV driver lost control and ended up off-road. Approximately 10 metres from the car, the lifeless body of the woman was found underneath the rear section of a parked lorry. Nearby, a dead cat was discovered on the roadside about 70 metres from the crash site. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle, driven by a woman in her early 30s, was travelling at high speed from Tak Fa district towards Phaisali district. The driver reportedly swerved to avoid the cat but struck it, then could not regain control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the road. The car struck the victim, who was preparing to set up her roadside broom stall. Her body was carried along with the vehicle before being thrown into the rear of the parked lorry undergoing repairs. The driver, who sustained facial injuries, was taken to Tak Fa Hospital for treatment. Relatives of the driver identified her as a nurse who was on her way to open a clinic in Pho Prasat sub-district, Phaisali district. Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver attempted to avoid hitting the cat, leading to the fatal collision. The fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit, though the exact source of the fault is still under investigation. The incident occurred on 3 January when unidentified assailants concealed an improvised explosive device (IED) inside a battery box placed near a traffic checkpoint sign. The blast injured six officers and a three-year-old child on Highway 42, near Ban Kalapho School in Tero Bon subdistrict, Sai Buri district, Pattani. The officers were conducting routine safety operations during the “Ten Dangerous Days” of the New Year holiday period. Songklanagarind Hospital in Songkhla confirm that Police Sergeant Major Pattapong Siammai, a traffic officer at Sai Buri Police Station, succumbed to his injuries. Sgt. Maj. Pattapong had sustained severe shrapnel wounds to his head, torso, and legs. Despite the tireless efforts of medical staff, his condition deteriorated rapidly from 4 January due to critical injuries to his brain caused by shrapnel. The officer’s death has deeply saddened his family, who have lost their primary breadwinner. Thanakorn Suetrong, Deputy Inspector of Investigation at Na Jomtien Police Station, Sattahip District, Chonburi, received a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck at the traffic light intersection at the entrance to Nong Nooch Garden on Sukhumvit Road, inbound to Sattahip. The incident left one person critically injured. Rescue units from Wat Yan Sangwararam Hospital and the Sawang Rojanathammasathan Foundation responded to the scene. At the scene, rescue teams found a 39-year-old Myanmar national, identified as Miss Thithioo, lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the road. Rescue workers attempted CPR, and the victim was rushed to Wat Yan Sangwararam Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. She had sustained severe injuries, including head trauma and broken leg and arm. Miss Thithioo had been riding a blue-and-black Honda Wave 110i motorcycle (license plate from Chonburi), which was found damaged and lodged in the front of a white Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck (license plate from Chonburi). The pickup truck was driven by a 71-year-old woman, identified as Mrs. Kongpak, who remained at the scene to provide her account to police. Mrs. Kongpak stated that she had been driving toward Sattahip when the motorcyclist abruptly made a U-turn in front of her vehicle, leaving her unable to stop in time, resulting in the fatal collision.
