  1. It's even worse now. My plan was to take out $380 in order to avoid the $100 note thing. ATM rejected my request. Now you are forced to take the $100 notes. Had to go to a 7/11 where they agreed to break it IF I bought at least for $5. So to the $20 fee f%ckery you can add $20 of forced spending at 7/11. From 400 dollars, we just went down to 360 dollars I'm still not spending on what I want.
  2. Yeah but we're talking Cambodia here. Would you get the same deal with your Thai card in Cambodia ?
  3. Yeah I know. My bank is offering me the same deal and I compared with Wise. Even with the Wise rate above 200€, Wise is more attractive. Can't remember how much difference there was but something like 10€. The interbank rate can't be higher than the Mastercard rate. Mastercard is exchanging money on your behalf at the interbank rate + their fee.
  4. You might not pay a fee to your bank but you don't benefit from the interbank rate either. So in the end you're losing compared to Wise. The good thing with Wise is that it offers interbank rate. Best play is to pay as much as possible with your card. The combo Wise + Grab Unlimited or Wise + Lazada is great to optimize your spending on a lot of different products and services.
  5. They should do more. I want at least a rate of 50 to 60 THB per EUR. Let's go. How about a debt wallet? 10000 THB given to everyone to use as collateral to take on a couple of hundred thousands THB in debt ? Great. Validated. Scheduled for next week.
  6. Thank you The Thaiger for such crucially important news. Life changing really.
  7. I can already hear our fake AseanNow billionaires. "60000 THB !? Haha. What is he complaining about ? This is pocket money. Merely a tip in a restaurant. Hahaha..."
  8. I'm looking for a games suite like the one Microsoft offers with Solitaire and all those games. I'm gonna need it to occupy myself in Phnom Penh. Thanks :) PS: I'm also looking for one for Linux if you got any ideas... (?)
  9. Chinese tourists are coming, but they ain't coming, but they are, yet they ain't.
  10. I'm listening. Maybe if you're an expat and you settle somewhere in Thailand let's say. But when you're a long-term traveler like me, Wise is the best I could find.
  11. Just went to the S21 prison. Not bad but overrated imo. It's pretty much an abandoned building with cells, rusted beds and pictures (mostly of dead people). Thanks god the audio guide was great. Without it (so essentially without context), it's pretty much boredom guaranteed. Vietnam war remnants museum and parliament palace are much more interesting.
  12. It's a festival these days in northern Thailand. Pai and now this... Foreigners falling like flies.
  13. My point was that it's not enough to divert me from the sh$tty nature of that type of music. I don't blame them to be asian.
  14. I don't buy it. This is how it went. Both are drunk. Boyfriend thinks he is batman. He jumps in the bushes and puts a helmet on. Then he jumps on his girlfriend. She panicks. He tries to tell her it's him. But the helmet is too thick. She runs away. And... Now the phone is broken. So they have to come up with a story for the insurance. It's so obvious. Easy !
  15. "Give me my 10 THB !" "No, my 10 THB !!" "I got a family to feed !!!" "ME TOO !!!!!!" -- Sustainable Thailand, a TAT 2023 open-source project
  16. You could have deleted it from the quote. Now it's twice as flashy.
  17. That's not what I would call a very good run of things. Sorry to here it. Keep pushing. It's never too late. (ok that's kinda bs but you never know)
  18. No boyfriend... <deleted> that's a bit harsh... When it comes to purity and innocence, I prefer JAV models.
