  1. You should read what people write before answering... 1) I don't blame solely Biden. Trump is the same kind of loser. 2) Covid isn't responsible for inflation. Inflation started prior to the pandemic. 3) The US economy isn't doing well. Just look at the S&P valuations. Before inflation all major companies were overpriced, after inflation peak same same. The US economy is stagnant. 4) Even if the american economy was doing well, it wouldn't me the inequality & poverty problems are solved. Inflation is the result of years of mismanagement by the so called "elites" as well as increased geopolitical tensions messing up supply chains.
  2. Finally some honesty. Thanks. Too much spending, too much f'ing around with global supply chains. And this is for now. Might go back up again. Don't see how this could have been good for poor people...
  3. Reposting the same graph 20 times is pointless. Cherry picking your data is too. Record 10% inflation in the US a couple of month ago. Biden and the fed have been terrible for poor people.
  4. US and UK had the highest inflation at 10%. My point was that it has nothing to do with a lack of oil or energy in general. It is the consequences of expensive and uneffective policies as well as geopolitical bs. As for Trump, he is a loser just like Biden imo.
  5. The US has had the highest inflation of all G7 countries. If you can't read a graph, it's not my problem. OPEP doesn't make the price for US oil 😄😄 It's not an energy problem that explains inflation in the US. Period.
  6. Inflation throughout a single month doesn't mean anything at all.... Here is the full evolution of inflation. https://www.ft.com/content/088d3368-bb8b-4ff3-9df7-a7680d4d81b2 US has the more oil yet had the biggest inflation. Nothing to do with energy. Period.
  7. Won't get any better. The economy is souring, stress is gonna go up for many Thais in debts up to their neck. Be ready for some road rage ahead !
  8. It's called greed, brother. In France there's now a law to make it illegal because everybody knows its pure corporate theft. Here is SE Asia, I think it might also be the sign of a stalling economy, especially in Thailand. Financial crash soon. Thailand is gonna be wiped out once again...
  9. Thx. Never been there. Next time I'm in the area I'll give it a try.
  10. That very true. Kalasin people are very friendly indeed. If I had a car back then it would have been to different story for sure. Maybe next time :))
  11. Well actually a deficit in your bank account doesn't mean anything. But you can have a deficit in vitamins in your body for example. Means you don't have enough.
  12. Udon Thani is the best place to chill. You got Central Plaza for shopping and right next to it a whole bunch of bars and restaurants to relax. The night market next to the train station has the best street food I've eaten in Thailand and prices are great. You'll find farangs here but the expat community is small and laid back - mostly old dudes with their bargirl spouse. Saphantamit nightlife is ok-ish. Chiang Mai is the best place for nature. The entire Doi Suthep area is really something. Walking up there via the CM university and then pushing to the tribal villages lost in the mountains is a great experience imo. So many things to discover in that jungle. Very few people have the energy to do it so you essentially have the hills for yourself most of the time. The Malin Plaza area is great for food. Loy Kroh nightlife is decent. Bangkok is the best place for parties. I don't really like the city but it has by far the best nightlife: bars, gogos, clubs, etc... Much better than in Pattaya or Phuket. The nocturnal crowd in the Nana Plaza area is really weird at times - it can be fascinating. But I don't think it's gonna last. Soi Cowboy has already taken the "Walking Street path" and sucks big time. Nana Plaza next ? Would be sad but hey... Pattaya is the best place overall. That city is pretty fantastic really. It has a bad reputation but it offers everything you need when you need it. Sex, shopping, beaches, food, bars, massages, island hopping... Jomtien is great for street food. Not as cheap as Isaan but it is still pretty cheap if you know where to look. Nightlife sucks imo (girls are just totally moronic these days)... No number 5 for now...
  13. Nothing. The number 1 producer of oil in the world is the USA. If oil was responsible, you'll have tremendous inflation in Europe and none in the US. The war in an 3rd world country like Ukraine doesn't lead to the kind of inflation we've seen. You really have to be a moron to buy into that phony narrative. All this is fundamentally due to the stupid commercial war between the USA and its competitors. American leadership is trying to reframe globalization to maintain global dominance. That has an impact on value chains and creates tensions with several countries. This is where inflation comes from: the de-optimization of the global economy to protect american interests. And we're all getting F in the process.
  14. Nope. No Paddy Doyle here. Btw Kalasin is probably the most depressing town I've visited. If Thailand had a bumhole it would be it. I went there for the dinosaurs sites. Impossible to reach. No transportation, nothing. It was right after covid. Bored af for a week.
  15. Yeah. And I've been pretty much everywhere in Thailand. From Hat Yai to Pai via Surat Thani, Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Dao, Buriram, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Udon, Ubon, Korat, Loei, Chiang Dao, you name it... The Hua Hin crowd has a bad mentality. And it has the worse bar scene I have ever seen in Thailand. I had more fun in Udon Thani, Isaan :)) They really do hate us over there. I mean most do. My guess is that they see themselves as superior because of their status of royal vacation place. You know the king palace and all...
  16. Well that's the specificity of the US. The entire world finance them through the dollar dominance. So yeah, what happens in the US has consequences in the entire world. No surprise there... It was already the case with the subprimes.
  17. That's exactly it. President Macron is the embodiment of that delusion. "France is back" Back from where, bro ? lol
  18. Both are to blame for this. Republicans and Democrats have been spending like crazy. And you can add the Fed to this team of incompetent. I was expecting Biden to be less of a loser than Trump. He ain't.
  19. Rudest Thais - Hua Hin, Prachuap Kiri Khan Rudest Farangs - Pattaya, Chonburi
  20. Barely enough to shield people from inflation. And that inflation is due to his poor political choices. Life isn't getting better for most people in the US. Probable stock market crash coming up. Retail investors will be wiped out.
  21. Thailand will become a retiree trap. The country has no other choice. It's facing an ageing population problem and its economy is crippled by huge inequalities and bad education. Milking western retirees as much as possible will be part of the country's strategy for the years / decades to come.
  22. Biden has been a terrible leader. Sad but no wonder Trump is set to become the next president. I don't understand democrats. They knew they had to do something for those they call the deplorables. But they chose the profit / corporate path instead. Moronic...
  23. Ok. I thought they were alright but I didn't stay there for long so...
