  1. You opened a thread a few weeks ago, I guess its related unless you're modelling the weather. If you're trading with your own money for your own benefit, a prop shop essentially, then you can I'm sure you can be as flexible as you like and no one will care. If it's a silly/weak workaround to essentially offering investment advice under some vague get-out-clause that your clients (or friends) are buying into a mathematical model, or recurring modelling advice, and even executing themselves then you will be truly, and rightfully, screwed the moment you learn that your clients/friends can also pretend, and they were never allegedly aware of the risks. You're attempting to enter the most regulated industry outside of drugs, the back doors don't exist.
  2. @lopburi3 How much did you pay, just trying to determine if the Lazada one I see is a fake..
  3. Ah **** and the never ending BOGOF on plastic sausages 😂, I think it's probably safe as hardly any meat in those nasty things anyway, just a solidified soup of chemicals..
  4. A lot of people have this illusion. Will correctly classify 7/11 as a ultra-processed junk takeaway, but then think the old sweet auntie at the top of road or street cart is cooking real thai food, healthy and fresh, the MSG, sugar, sauces (with both the former) and cooked lovingly in cheap palm oil (sometimes even new) 💪 in a pan that you can tell was once coated in non-stick but no more, hopefully it's all pealed off by now. Eat fresh non of that microwave gunk 😆 I eat it occassionally but under no illusion..
  5. Someone hijack your account? only hours ago about the soi 4 dumper... more respect for the soi 4 guy than this non-sense
  6. I think there's a few retired headmasters amongst them... they take everything so seriously and attempt to piss down from their ivory tower on any behavior that runs counter to the value systems they used to yap endlessly on about every chance they got, they had a captive audience back then, now they got sweet nothing aside from maybe the BAN button 🤣. I just picture our old headmaster when I read some of their posts...
  7. Are you qualified and certified back home to do this, that you can look at transitioning those certifications and registering with whatever the thai version of the FCA is? Do you have necessary level of professional indemnity insurance to do this work? Required visas/work permit? doing something like this puts you at high risk of dispute, especially if your client later decides they weren't fully aware of the risks. If not, then as Mike hints at, you're limited to the special economic zone for dodgy foreign financial advisors, i.e. 1km surrounding area of Nana BTS.
  8. I have few people on Facebook with EVs, they literally announce every journey over 10km and pat themselves on the back anytime they've done a 2 hour journey, and of course no shortage of detail shared, want to know how much charge remaining at the M4 services.. and how much remained when they got home.. Annoying cnts, it's like they run these trips for charity or something.. Agree on above, residuals on these will be absolutely terrible.
  9. Yeah I'm only out about 10% since brexit, after all fees wise giving 46,163 for 1000gbp. One thing this useless government is good for... 🤣
  10. Yeah they do that, but you don't have to answer, they'll still leave it at condo security or throw it on your driveway anyway, unless COD
  11. They won't whilst the Thai's keep falling for them again and again, it must be like shooting fish in a barrel to the scammers targetting +66, they don't even have to try, I've known Thai people who have fallen for the same scam twice, well near the enough same - I got job with TikTok one month, I got a job with Facebook the next month! 🤦‍♀️
  12. Thais fall for the most scams in Asia last year would be a more fitting title. It doesn't matter if what they call News has just done a 10 minute report on job recruitment scams, when that phone call comes the amnesia kicks in and thought of being a specially selected TikTok quality assurance officer with just a small equipment deposit fee is too good to turn down.. As they need the money to pay a DHL agent the taxes on the package of jewellery their rich senior US Navy general has waiting for them
  13. Take a crosshead and unscrew the wheels if they get arsey.. That should shave 5cm off..
  14. Why would you want to stay? Why wouldn't you jump at the divorce? Is she holding on to any significant assets of yours?
  15. For thaivisacenter, it's an extra on the visa package, I think it was around 5k more if you don't have a bank account already. Not sure if they offer the service without the visa.
  16. https://buy.chubbtravelinsurance.com/ctith Can remove property safe and flight secure at bottom of page
  17. Definitely strong on the upsells. Go in for brakes and calling the misses trying to sell all new shock absorbers for nearly 20k. Then starts the argument, he wouldn't recommend it if it's wasn't needed, and don't blame me if vehicle explodes then.. That said, service was pretty fast, and at least price was near enough what the estimate was..
  18. What? You have to wait to be told before you move on or stop? You can't use your judgement to determine if it's appropriate? When cannabis was legalized and the shops started multiplying like 7/11s no one really cared, I didn't care one way or another, but then they started taking the piss, smoking the stuff on pub terraces, in family restaurant gardens, at entrance to condos, around the pool, on steps of 7/11 and so on. The signs quickly appeared. They won't disappear, but you might see more of them, as it seems some cannabis users need to be told explicitly that this ain't appropriate at places where it should be obvious.
  19. You don't have two prongs but you do have three charges. Agent fee, change fee, fare difference. When you book with the agent it is extremely rare the airline will let you make changes directly with them, they just tell you to call your booking agent. Why would I book with say Netflights or Gotogate or whatever to save a few quid knowing any change will cost be an extra 80-150 quid on top of ticket change fee and fare difference, and in the case of many of those crappy agents it like a 3 hour wait on the phone vs getting through to airline within a few minutes.. Also extras are always marked up - look how much gotogate charges for luggage and seat vs the airlines own charges I'd only ever use an agent if I was 100% sure I wasn't going to change dates, times, and if the price saving was worth while, otherwise save the headache. Some of the agents like budgetair don't even issue a ticket in real-time, you get it several hours later if you're lucky and availability hasn't changed, and good luck getting them to even the answer the phone at all.. Done with agents..
  20. Definitely not in the last month. BNH and Samitivej. 80% maybe 70% at Samitivej. Both doctors I interacted with last month were not masked, of course neither was I. At Chula earlier in the year I'd say probably around 95% though, I think anything associated with the government will be the last to return to normal. Even the left over masks signs from the crazy times are peeling off or colours fading out now.
  21. True, it's one area of government that actually works, fixed up a blown transformer within an hour or two near me, and when they upgraded the lines each part was only down for an hour there abouts, impressively fast.
  22. Yes, absolutely, and all those 12 bahts going into the pockets of hard working people, it could add up to thousands over the years, heck they might even be able to afford a small break away from Bangkok or a treat on their birthday at this rate. Nothing makes me sicker than hard working people getting a small bonus from the pool of service charge they accumulated.. 🤮 I've called BBC Panorama and they are on the way..
  23. If you're from the UK you can get an ETD (Emergency travel document) in Bangkok, bring some form of ID though or they won't let you even in the elevator, the staff are fine and even advise about going to the airport and procedure at airport etc.. - they are not in the business of grassing people up, they want to see you on your way with minimal bother. There used to be contact details for booking an appointment on gov.uk but probably just easier to call the embassy during working hours. At least for UK people, I think renewing the passport here would be a bad idea as that would involve a longer wait and you need various forms of ID, proof of address, and involving another agency (VFS) I don't think it's a good idea. Someone mention you should be able to travel on your expired passport back to your country of origin, that may be true, but you would need to go direct I believe which limits you to EVA and Thai if UK, and still it's down to check-in manager to accept you, probably need to find someone with first hand experience on that before betting on it. Once you have you ETD, and your booked flight, just head to airport, have 20k in cash ready, and be prepared for ban of a number of years, best to arrive 3hrs before departure as they guys like to make over-stayers sweat that they will miss their flight by taking forever to process it, they time it perfectly so you basically have to run to the gate. Other than that no issues, ignore any fear mongering, so much false information on this forum about how it goes - it's straight forward.. 20k, a few stamps, a ban and off you pop. Sure, there's theoretical chance you're in an accident on the way to the airport and then taken into custody if the police just so happen to able to ascertain your immigration status, but so ridiculous to worry about that, you can get hit by bus too and you might win lottery tomorrow...
  24. zinio.com A few boozers stock reprinted english newspapers, but online is the way, also note Nat Geo physical is no long published they stopped it last month, all digital now.
  25. Shocking the things that the pro-vax pro-covid crowd supported. At one point unvaccinated people in Austria weren't allowed to leave their house, a clown CEO of major international airline banned unvax passengers from traveling home, in the US governments workers risked losing their jobs without the shot certificate, students were told they couldn't come to campus until they had received two full shots and a certificate.. Madness on reflection, and still today you see some of the clowns behaving like still in 2021
