Always a little apprehensive walking from the taco bar on the corner until the entrance of trendy okay okay the pub next door or the sportsmans, its as if the shady characters do loops on that 100metre stretch but you have only a metre space to share on a good day. Tbf the gauntlet to the nearest BTS isn't much better either african hookers, africans brothers I never knew I had, fat indians telling me I'm lucky or special, thai beggars with a perfect story of just wanting to get back to Surin, the bangladesh guy that needs money for babyfood same old scam for 7 years now, the taxi touts but at least you have some clearance to avoid them.

Thick haze shrouds Bangkok and vicinity this morning
eyeman replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
🥱🥱🥱 This is going to get repetitive fast... Instead let us know when the AQI is below 50 in Bangkok for a whole day, that would be news! -
Maybe i read it wrong? but to me it seems the OP talks twice about leaving his house to the EX and seems more focused on the rest of the money. If it's the case about property owned by a minor can't be sold then of course that would seem would be the way to go.. [1] I made my EX the heiress in my Will to my house (held by usufruct), money etc [2] What if I left my house to my EX together with some money?
-
I would be more concerned with losing the house after passing if the intent is for your daughter to remain there, as this can be used as collateral for debt, family debt, sisters cousin debt, sisters dog's cousin's noodle shop upgrade, or settlement of the inevitable gambling and lottery ticket bonzas. I would work to securing this rather than the extra money first.

People don't book hotels on airbnb, just like one doesn't buy financial products from people at the bar in Nana... It may be offered nonetheless. No doubt the article is referring to the main/original platform and this is a translation error, a quick scan for Bangkok only reveals a few random hotels interleaved in all the other listings.

2nd hand is a joke here. Bought this fridge for 33k 12 years ago will accept 18k Bought this car 2 years ago, done 30k km, new cost 680,000. 590k Mattress, used but clean, some stains, red mark is not blood , bought 3k will accept 2.5k, buyer to collect at own cost. And on furniture, sofa bright pink and green to suit Thai style, new 5k - will sell for 6k! Just go ikea and forget the hassle..

Outside the MRT exit at Sukhumvit somewhere between that and soi 13 a bit further up the road there was a rough looking Thai lady sitting on the side, she had just pick-pocketed someone in my opinion, and was inspecting the treasures, she was holding a Thai ID up to light and inspecting it, and then continued rummaging pulling out another card, and inspecting that, I was watching for a few seconds until she clocked me and thought I can't be doing with a yaba junkie at this moment a pint awaits... It definitely happens around the MRT / BTS interchanges although this observation was Asok/Sukhumvit.

Wow, that's awesome, imagine if Dinosaur land got the same, best we got is a limited helping of exit automation but not if on any re-entry permit.

Grab - what happened?
eyeman replied to samtam's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Grab car prices are ridiculous. Bolt can sometimes be 1/4 of the price although not always available and flag taxis often a 1/2 of the price or better. Only use when desperate now. -
How to negotiate repairs in no-fault crash
eyeman replied to cheeryble's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Putting the poor kid into debt, on a 20 year old banger, just leave the kid alone and move on. no need to repair it, it's cosmetic and no one gives a hoot, it will be scrapped in a few years anyway.. -
Generally no, education is free in the UK, of course a few privileged kids will head to Eton and other private schools and they are charged, but the norm is free education.. I was originally referring to Thailand where parents pays the fees and expect glowing report cards - money for gold stars. I've seen it first hand, illiterate kids in Thailand years behind western standards, getting report cards with 90%+ across english, math, and sciences. It is a big shame because neither the kid nor the parents eyes are open, they think little somchai/poo is awesome, and all I can think is 'I wonder if he/she will end up in the bangkok hilton or a factory first or are you going to support him/her into adulthood and beyond..

Beyond the obvious BananaIT and JIB - both fine, if its lowest cost then consider the clearance section in Tesco Lotus, they always seem to have 2-3 laptops they trying to shift usually plastic Acers around 10-11k baht but good value at that price point even if its Acer... all were at least 8gb ram, 256gb ssd the other day, a CPU within 2 generations of latest.

No, as that would remove the pleasure they get from ruining your day, even if it is just a few more loops around the copy shop, this is part of their compensation it would seem, and they seem more eager to hold on this than any backhanders or other incentive. If you ever want to see it in action, remove a required document from your mountain of documents after the document check (if you have one in Samui), and watch the IO officer facial expression when they realize you don't have this or that, then wipe that smirk from the face by handing over the document you just removed..

I do wonder about the rain point, I am surrounded by three different construction operations currently, large cement and plaster bags arriving by the truck load every other day, plus non stop heavy drilling, I can't see it but I suspect they are large contributors to dust in my immediate vicinity, when the rain comes and the construction finishes or tapers off, won't this dust just end up back on the ground only for a few dry days to put us back to dusty air again?

Thai air force to battle surging fine dust pollution crisis
eyeman replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What I don't understand many of the elite and the dinosaurs have their own offspring in the affected cities, do they think because their little spoilt brats only shop at IconSiam and Emporium and prance about between instagram coffee shops all day before getting into their driver's Toyota Alphard that they won't be affected? Air purifiers are only going to do so much.. -
You're always going to get the old clowns that think you "make it difficult for the rest of us" and will try to discredit and rubbish your report in any possible way, they are old and bitter and believe in a fantasy utopia where one day the immigration officer processing their yearly non-imm is going to be all happy because he/she is no longer getting backhanders from agents, yeah follow the logic in that . The best is when these old clowns fall, they are discrediting agents and spitting on people without 800k in the bank all day, then one day their black and white world isn't so clear, next month (october 2021) a new shock health insurance requirement is introduced and it's all of sudden "what agent can I use that will do the necessary health insurance cert Im 74 I can't get insurance!" I'm glad you finally made it in, but I would probably have given up earlier in process, especially if you need to repeat it in 30 or 60 days. Good luck on the next entry.

Far too long covid schooling from home, which started and stopped several times for many schools, and the endless retarded masking which seems to be happening to this day in government schools won't have had an effect right? They had no hope before, now it's the hub of poor education... I honestly ponder what they learn in the 10-12 years of schooling, before a few years in fight school technical college before heading to the factory, it certainly isn't math or science - a calculator for the most trivial of sums, it isn't history that's for sure - ww2? romans?, and geography nope - flat earthers have a better idea...

It seems like himalayan rock salt without the pinkness, just from the government feed, no filter.

Thanks. I'll have a look but since this sits vertical Im wondering how the salt got there unless there's a leak from above?

It has a 15A c20x2 resistor like thing under the clear thing, hat's about 1cm length and 2mm diameter. Would you expect fan guys to remove and replace the resistor or just remove it and join the wires? I'm probably at edge of my comfort zone at the moment, but it's been interesting, but given its water and eletric, I might just drop it off and leave it with the fan guys for free, and order a new one, at least they can gift to a relative or something
