  1. Agreed. Phuket and apparently Ao Nang, Krabi. When I was there age I wanted nothing to do with Thailand I was off in Cambodia, Lao and Myanmar... Thailand was just RnR. There are also a few that just sit in front of the camera and spout superficial nonsense, glittering generalities after researching subject 15 minutes on some random website and then regurgitating the information and spitting it back in an audience.
  2. For foreigners I would entirely agree with this statement but some of us don't live on the farang miracle mile of Sukhumvit. Off that main artery there is a lot going on - and not going on
  3. Not good. Anemic economy for foreseeable future, over reliance on tourism which provides largely low skilled, dead end jobs. AI will take a bite out of many paper pushing corporate jobs such as insurance and banking. Weed industry consolidation and demise leaving only the top producers and retailers. Higher medical costs will make the country far less attractive for medical tourism. Education will sooner or later go online with schools merely functioning as babysitting facilites and tutoring centers. Thai Air will lose money, no surprise there. Government will remain a shltshow. China will move out of the shadows and into higher profile projects. Inflation and debt will continue to wipe the smile off most Thai faces. Thailand will not become the hub of anything except out of regional convenience not innovation. Vietnam will begin to heavily compete with Thailand at every level and win. Even Cambodia will challenge in agriculture. Trade, exports totally sideways, bumping lower. Corruption, greed will bite harder. Regions outside central Thailand will continue to be forgotten. Smart young people will move abroad due to economy and politics. This is something TikTokers quite clueless about when discussing their new *homes*.
  4. I agree entirely. They are stumbling around Sukhumvit saying they *live* in Thailand. No idea what it's going to take for them to actually live here when shlt gets real. Mundane food choices... none eat Thai food unless it's not technically Thai, but we know this about farang anyway. Oh! There is Khao Soi though... When I was there ages I wasn't even in Thailand as the adventure had long been sucked out of the country, but Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao and Vietnam just opened and I spent years there as well as bfe Indian subcontinent and Indonesia. The most amusing thing is how accomplished they often think they are. What a flex an extended holiday is... when in reality it's nothing.
  5. Well, that's just personal opinion that has nothing to do with reality. I never fly that airline and have never flown that airline despite having flown ... no idea.. a million miles perhaps?
  6. This is bane of my existence at Immigration. The one agent with a dozen passports
  7. It's not always available, especially on intl flights
  8. Why is inspecting and touring an airport the job of a prime minister? Nothing will come of this government and to think that it's better than the last is just a charade. They won't let that stupid money handout scheme die like it should despite the bot numerous times explaining how damaging it was and how unnecessary it was I think we're just in a holding pattern until taksin returns
  9. I express my doubts by having worked with nearly 100 unqualified and thoroughly unmotivated teachers over 10+ years. 90% should be back in their home countries working in retail.
  10. All that matters is that you are paid for the contact hours you teach. If you are not, it's time to leave. If you are teaching with another foreign or how is that foreigner forcing you to work additional hours? *Breach
  11. If someone agrees to do a job at a price they should do it. If they want more money then they can market themselves to other schools. Sound reasonable? What if you paid me to cut your lawn. I decided after the fact that it was too much work for what we agreed for me to be paid. Therefore, I decided I was only going to cut half the lawn. Obviously I have a cut lawn is as good as not being cut at all. And the same goes for s****y teaching Quiet quitting is the weakest, most passive aggressive thing that people can do in the workplace. Don't like it? Quit! Oh that's right you can't get another job somewhere else... The idea of traveling halfway around The world only to quiet quit your job I find astonishing. The fact of the matter is this is the individual's work ethic no matter where they are in the world and no matter what they're paid. The idea that you would stand in front of a group of individuals unprepared and with some sort of boring nonsense that teaches them nothing is the biggest crime being committed in Thailand and this is being done by tens of thousands of foreign teachers Finally, most teachers are paid more than a thousand US dollars a month. I don't think there's anyone at my school making less than 50k thb.
  12. Many schools use co teachers. You always post as if your opinion is gospel and it's not. I've no idea what the op thought about I hope he was blind drunk. I won't co teach. The biggest scam is the co-teacher not doing the work because 85-90% of teachers in this country are worthless. The sooner Thailand rounds up ai and educational technology combines the two the better off the nation will be. They can fire all these worthless teachers.
  13. Truly, if you fear where you live - don't live there.. yes, go home. Thai restrooms are 500% cleaner than the cleanest public toiletsin States. The idea that a bit of water up your bum will send you to hospital if a laff. You apparently support this ridiculous position. I guess we know where you stand on the street food. Well, there's always McDonald's and Chester grill
  14. Anyone else toyed about with TT? I'd recently downloaded it and was shocked to see so many new arrivals **living** in Thailand and posting their perception and opinion as fact. The funny thing is that they'll all be kicked out or just abandon of their new *home* and the country they love so much within 12-36 months guaranteed. The posts are often innane amounting to shi*posting basically as there are so many, much of it. They'll never keep the volume up. The content is simply stupid tidbits of information they've gleaned while spending a month or two on Sukhumvit or some overly touristed city. They routinely glorify 7 as some sort of gourmet experience. I'm simply amazed at how much data the app sucks.
  15. I've spent a cumulative total of about four years on the subcontinent. Gems polishing... I'll give you that point. Perhaps some local types of textiles. I'd always felt sorry for the Indians having to buy only from their manufacturing base. The stuff is poorly engineered and practically arrives broken. I'd always wondered why India didn't just simply get a fan or whatever from China and disassemble it and copy it.
  16. Use all the time at work. Obviously pooping outside the home is unplanned. Nevertheless, I've got no problem using that gun and have so for decades These are the same morons that are worried about street food pathogens. Just go back to your country and stop worrying 😭
  17. A new low even for assinenow.. Hyperbolic speculation at best. Isn't this what was called during COVID-19 disinformation? You just keep driving users away - y'all can't help yourselves
  18. I'm curious what you think is made well in India. I think charas is the only thing and technically those people are not Indian per-se.
  19. Let us hope not. Help me out... His Biden admin accomplishments?
  20. Easy to spot on Koh Tarutao in main park area. The rest of Andaman a bit elusive Andaman Nicobar pigeon and that pure white pigeon are pretty and endemic
  21. I came here to also say the BMW 7xx missed him. Jets? I was thinking submarine
  22. It's not the West and it's not the 70s. People live in smoke free environments and many people want nothing to do with smoke. 3-4:joints of marginal weed gonna bother some. Most Asians want nothing to do with weed. Which is why Thailand shooting itself in the foot. Let the farang tourists smoke the $tuff $$$$$
  23. Trump is a populist. The relationship between him and the Republicans is purely a marriage of convenience. Democrats forget Trump was once both a Democrat and allied with crooked Hillary Yeah, Trump's coming back and its personal...
