  1. My brother had an implant done in Chiang Mai quite a few years ago. He couldn't wait for the healing phase to be over and went back to NZ. He finally went to a NZ dentist who was confused by the implant. A few calls later and the NZ dentist said all was good. The Thai implant was top of the line and the NZ dentist had to wait 2weeks to get new equipment and complete the job. The NZ dentist was very impressed with the Thai workmanship. So there you have it.... Go and ask questions. I'm sure you'll get good service.
  2. When the cop picked up the rock, he should've clocked him one... Saves tax payers some money.
  3. They should make a spectacle of these dirt bags. It not good to just say apologies and all is forgiven. What will these perps learn from that? Be more careful next time you rip off a business? This is beyond belief.
  4. Dammit... when is the government going to to a drive to teach kids to swim? Obviously sorely missing in this country. Even a lot of adults can't swim hence why so many people drown as no one can jump in to save them. Sad waste of young lives. Naturally with all this hot weather, kids want to cool down. Not realising how deep the pond is... Parents are probably working somewhere else. Unfortunately it won't be the last of this type of tragedy.
  5. A bit like the RTP and their compulsory skin tight uniform. What's with that? Must be so uncomfortable in this weather... Oops I forgot, 95% of the time they're in an air con office.
  6. What to do with old school books? The same as you do to witches.... Burn them. (Monty Python Holy Grail)
  7. Welcome back Bob, hopefully the mods keep track on the assassination squad so you're free to blog again!
  8. Im 62 this year and yes it was my type of music too although Im not 100 sure what garage music is/was. Got right into the punk/ska scene years back. Good times I think!
  9. They make great watch dogs apparently. Anything out of the ordinary and you are sure to hear the cry.... Its loud, very loud. Remember the movie Midnight Express? A drug 'dealer' that got caught at the airport in Turkey. They used peacocks as guard dogs/early warning at the prison. Great movie
  10. Yeah a bit like at the doctors and they want a urine sample but only give you an egg cup. Damn when your bladder is full and you piss like a horse it's useless. Overflow and wet hands...guaranteed.
  11. Kids these days wouldn't even no what that machine is!
  12. Maybe he's a Flight Stupid/Steward
  13. To be total honest, I've not watched one episode of LOTR. Even tho it's a kiwi icon in NZ. I think I've taken this away from the OP enough for now. On the Russian front of things, I did meet some great pilots and load masters when working in the Middle East (Afghanistan and Iraq). There was a bit of a language barrier but we understood enough to get by. One guy even gave me a damn nice bottle of Russian Vodka as I hopped off his IL76 aircraft in Kandahar. So there are some good ones about.
  14. So true, all I've seen are top loaders. Amorn electronics also sell those boxes. Could be interesting. But surely it's the same principle... Just gotta figure out the wiring and programme the machine to 1 cycle. Good luck!
  15. Come on Felix, don't knock Monty.... they were/are all very educated individuals. Well maybe not the token American! (Terry Gilliam) Just joking. You can never have too much of the Flying Circus. Or any of their movies. Holy Grail, Life of Brian, Meaning of life, Live at the Hollywood bowl etc Quite a cult following esp. for Life of Brian. He's a very naughty boy!
  16. I've used those throttle grips a bit when back in NZ. They are good for longer distance riding but with NZs harsh UV they tend to break after a few weeks... maybe 3 top. Cheap enough to replace tho
  17. Frigate/Sub what's the difference? In Thai hands the both end up in the same place. My feeling is that they should purchase what the can afford to lose... A bit like gambling really!
  18. How's it going up Doi Suthep? Many years ago I was taking a CRF250M for a ride up... then I heard the almighty noise behind me. A local on a Ducati monster was doin a time trial and he was moving. I observed him scraping his footpegs on every corner.... I was left in his dust very quickly.
  19. Like the Z650 and your Duke 200 looks very tidy. Nearly bought a Duke for the missus a few years ago. But then we moved back to NZ and I thought the 200 a bit small. Was gonna get her the 390 but she decided that a BMW gs310 would suit her better. Got neither. I went and bought SMC-R 690. Too big for her.... shame shame! Even the BMW C600 scooter that I got for a song was too big for her. Now we're back here the 200 would probably suit her.
  20. I don't think they worry about which country they are from Mike, as long as the dollars or roubles come in big numbers... All is forgiven.
  21. 8 yrs overstay equates to 15, 200 baht in extension of stay fees via the immigration office or approx 120,000 baht if via an agent. (Although there are cheaper agents out there) Quite a saving. The guy probably doesn't have 2 cents to rub together so who knows how he will pay any fine and who pays his deportation costs? Must have pissed someone off to get caught, never the less it was a good innings.
