  1. Whilst being realistic, I still hope.
  2. Obviously way too much testosterone on display!
  3. Surely his biggest crime is that shell suit?
  4. Did some background reading on this, bearing mind I've recently used Singapore Airlines, Cathay, HK Express & BA, travelling to Singapore, Tokyo, Da Nang & Heathrow respectively. Top airlines - https://www.worldairlineawards.com/. I've travelled on a few of the low-cost carriers mentioned; HK Express are better than all of them. Especially RyanAir! How could that shambles be in any 'top' list!!|? Airports - https://www.worldairportawards.com/worlds-top-100-airports-2025/. No surprises at Hong Kong's rise, but Heathrow is nowhere near good enough to be at 22. I'ver just flown into and out of there, my flight arrived on schedule at 6.30am, but the power to the stand had not been switched on a dn it took 20 minutes before we could park. WTF!!!! From docking to the baggage starting to arrive it took 1hr 20mins. Back at HKG? 20 mins for the same. At LHR a drink from a machine was £2.40 (24 HKD, 3.1 USD). At HKG, same drink is half of that. HKG is clean, LHR was not. 3rd world airport!!!
  5. "UK's problem started when leaving EU." Yeah!!
  6. I guess if fewer people break the law then overcrowding might ease?
  7. Maybe, maybe not. But I hope the police can find them, and the tour operator, and get some well-needed cash for the tea fund.
  8. Great piece of politics by Xi. And building BYD cars in Cambodia to help secure good jobs for Cambodians. I'm sure there'll be a few pluses and minuses in this politicking, but it seems politicking rather than bullying. Unlike some behaviour I could mention.
  9. I generally get your point. Trump found a way to "persuade" some of the US's southern neighbours, but I doubt the UK has the determination to act in a similar way. The first target for the UK should be the EU, as the EU is happily passing on the problems to the UK whilst failing to acknowledge their obligations under the relevant UN Charter on asylum, i.e. a seeker needs to seek asylum in the first safe country they land at. I'd have little issue if the EU & the UK negotiated a deal whereby the UK helps out on this, but it seems at the moment the UK has an unfair burden on this issue, and by that I mean it's legal citizens and taxpayers.
  10. Can anyone explain why this is not illegal? Surely this is obstruction of justice? https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/obstruction_of_justice. The quote from the link is "Obstruction of justice broadly refers to actions by individuals that illegally prevent or influence the outcome of a government proceeding". So I guess as it stands the actions of these cities is not illegal, so why hasn't Trump gone to the Supreme Court to make it illegal? How can a city Trump the presidency or a Federal institution? Pun intended.
  11. Yeah, not great language. In fact I think it is extremist. But in general I understand why federal funding gets cut to look after illegal immigrants. A quote from the OP relating to this is "They protect the Criminals, not the Victims.". This might get read in a way that depicts immigrants as all criminals, which they actually if they entered the US illegally. What I don't like is the inference that they are carrying out further criminal acts whilst in the US. Some may have, but I very much doubt it's a majority, and I doubt that most will be engaged in any acts that "create public safety risks".
  12. Obviously this article doesn't contain all of the evidence to support its assertions, but I'm unsure what your full opinion is? Not trying to troll, I'm just just interested for balance.
  13. Smart move. Now Musk should re-hire or replace all of the staff he is accountable for firing, but only the techs who actually do the cybersecurity and definitely NOT the HR people who are responsible for the DEI bovine excrement. And all at Musks's expense with zero charge to the US tax payer.
  14. The "it was all a misunderstanding" defence again. 🤣
  15. I wonder if this $4m got spent on shares just before Trump announced a delay to the tariff increases? Would have been a complete coincidence of course.
  16. I've got as much confidence in this as I do in the UK's COVID purchasing corruption inquiry and in the ICC.
  17. Were they carrying any boxes full of paperwork from a certain collapsed building in Bangkok?
  18. What a terrible bunch of cynics you all are! It's all a simple misunderstanding! Ahem... 🤣
  19. With the 2-tier sentencing guidelines I shouldn't be surprised they are released on bail. Guess if it was a couple of white guys they wouldn't get bail?
  20. Here's a list I found - it's quite long and a bit old. https://www.asean.org/wp-content/uploads/images/2012/Economic/AEM/document/22692.pdf A more detailed search that may be more up to date. I searched on vehicles the rates differ from one type to another. Also pork & chicken (Thais protecting their farmers.) http://itd.customs.go.th/igtf/en/main_frame.jsp
  21. Great story AN!! I had zero idea that this is one of the methods used for detecting mines.
