  1. Gun Barrel City... I have heard of Rifle County. But my first time to know about its name.
  2. Chunky chicken and vegetable(carrot, onion, green beans, and spinach) stew fixed for today's lunch.
  3. After all, in terms of environment, the fundamental human intelligence seems little evolve since the Ice Man Age(except for the technological aspect). General perception: As long as the present time is reasonably comfortable/livable, no real concern for the coming era. Actually, Even the Primitive men are said to have wiped out nearly 90% of the animal species when they moved from the ancient North America to the southern end of the 2 continents. Even without bow and arrows(their very first method was Drive Hunting; group of people dash and chase horde of herbivores as they yelled. Then the animals panic and run to one direction(cliff) to get killed by fall. That is how the small weak humans managed to take huge creatures like Mammoth. After the Industrial Revolution, nation with the advanced technology got a power to change the state of nature. That's where the Global Temperature started be affected by human presence. Total Co2 emission in the past 200 years is said to be greater than the whole past before that...
  4. In any dictatorial states, the most power mobsters are those in uniform.
  5. What they say is One Thing. What they really do is Another. Very few people would believe what they officially say while convicts among 0.1% of the kingdom go to Resort Prison after any guilty sentencing.
  6. Well before high ranking bureaucrats' lip service in the press release, Transnational Criminals and Scammers have been long united with their protection...
  7. Personally, my prediction for the world's future is pretty pessimistic. I am glad I am already old enough not to live another 40-50 years. Practicing Minimalist Way of life for many years. Still, nearly spending 100 times more energy than the man 150 years ago... Power and water supply round the clock at fingertip. Able to eat whatever hour it is. Able to speak to someone on the other end of the world. Crossing the borders with comfort in the sky. Benefit of all of the modern conveniences and Environmental Moral Dilemma... So getting all the fruit and vegetable scraps(uneatable parts) to the rabbits. Bones to the strays in the street; my Daily Chore. This way, I can more or less get off the Sense of Guilt to those who have to live another half a century after my death...
  8. From the accident to crime case. One misjudgment in a critical moment, makes all the difference. Jumping proper care, then he is the Bad Guy cops come for.
  9. In other words, the wealthier first world countries are simply pushing aside their problems to Somewhere Else(they cannot see): AKA Pollution Export. The same happening even among the West as well. While Germany abolished their nuke power stations in 2023 (after Japan's Fukushima Nuclear Disaster in 2011), they started to buy power from their neighbor (France). Regarding nuclear power generation, once they start it, they will be forever haunted by its curse (even after its decommissioning). They need to make sure radioactive toxin won't go outside; have to bury the reactor under huge amount of concrete. That process is called sarcophagus which costs astronomical expenses (for the future generations). It is said to take 100000 years till radiation dose halves... At the same time, renewable energy technologies aren't almighty either; much less than most people expect. Its efficiency and reliability are known to be far less than fossil fuel method; unable to generate the same amount of energy year around(depending the area and climate though). Solar power device is said to break down well before its EPT(energy payback time) is fulfilled. Mankind seems to be straightly heading for the Dead End by all means. So many mouths to feed. So much more energy needed. But the available resources are slimming. And the New Technologies aren't decisive enough. Unless truly Revolutionary Paradyme Shift in energy and way of life take place.
  10. Curry flavored chicken wings with coleslaw and basil.
  11. The local Thai diner I used to frequent, constantly stocked beer and cheap syntenic wine while its customers are mostly underage students. But they eventually stopped it after previous military regime implemented more strict alcohol control(no liquor sales near schools).
  12. Even when they started to make it in own country, they can be far from becoming self-sufficient in banana culture. The primary issue is its price; pretty prohibitive. As their production cost(including their labor) is a lot more than the major exporters outside Japan(3rd world countries). You will be stunned if you check out the price of their Locally Produced Banana(including the one from Okinawa); often costs $50-100 for 1kg or less. While it only costs a $1(for 4-5 pieces) or so at their supermarkets, in case of those from Brazil or the Philippines.
  13. Is the Swastika(WW2 Nazi symbol) drawn to confuse the investigation? If it was done Islamic fundamentalist faction/its sympathizers, the mass media may try to cover up aggressors' identity(as they often do in UK). Adding Cross of Iron can be smoke screen; they can misdirect police attention.
  14. Global Warming impact. No wonder they started to grow banana in the mainland of Japan in recent years. Previously, their climate was too cold for its growth(other than subtropical Okinawa and the Ogasawara isles). But things are changing; their summer heat is just as immense as here these days... A NEW AGRICULTURE: Snow Country Bananas - Dig More Japan
  15. Phuket residents are praising a local good Samaritan who chased down a foreign motorist involved in a hit-and-run incident. ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー Local Hero VS Criminal Alien. Salute to another gallant instant vigilante. Unsung Hero of the day.
  16. Killed by the impact with beach rocks. I hate to imagine how he died. Rest in peace...
  17. I presume the driver was either drunk or watching his phone/playing game while the car is in motion at high speed. Minors officially cannot buy alcohol beverage here. But there is always back-door liquor store(often the nearby corner shop).
  18. Salute to the instant vigilante who seized that dangerous thug on wheels. The text didn't say anything about victim's nationality. So looks like a Thai-to-Thai incident.
  19. Yellow noodle in clear soup with egg, ham and bite-sized cooked vegetables(okra, cabbage, and carrot). Soup made from the scratch; no ready-made stuff.
  20. Women (and men) of all races, colours, creeds, faiths etc are lining the streets brassing themselves off, day and night... If you are talking about Pattaya, it is all about what Sin City is...
  21. People in the tropical regions, often lose self-control when they got(strongly) upset. That is why there are so many deadly/near-killed incidents start with altercation here. And alcohol often fuels it.
