  1. It appears smoking marijuana in public is one of the problems, exposing children and others to the marijuana fumes. There is still a lot of people opposed to marijuana being legal and this gives them something to complain about. i hope these Israelis don’t ruin it for everyone. https://www.chiangmaicitylife.com/citynews/general/pai-police-step-up-law-and-ordering-citing-disruptive-israeli-tourists/
  2. 13 deported just this year and we are only a month in. They are just the incidents that have resulted in a deporting. About 1 ever three days. It is getting a bit repetitive. How many Brits been deported this year? The report was in the South China Morning Post?? What is you point?
  3. The Pai Facebook page has over 11,200 comments on it with hundreds of Thais discussing the situation. The overwhelming majority are quite negative. It is in Thai script, I am happy to post it here if given permission.
  4. As of February this year, 13 Israelis had been charged and deported for crimes ranging from theft to public nuisance, according to a police spokesperson. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/asia/thailand-northern-pai-israeli-paetongtarn-4946631 The issue garnered public attention after a doctor shared a post on Feb 4 highlighting the individuals’ recurring disruptive behaviours. “These tourists regularly smoke on hospital property, steal items, and have damaged our emergency room doors,” the doctor wrote on Feb 4, as quoted by Khaosod. “When they do come for treatment, they often refuse basic medical procedures like blood tests and wound care, making it extremely difficult for our staff to help them.”
  5. Caption says A shop in Pai district of Mae Hong Son posts a sign saying “NO ISRAEL HERE” after tourists caused disturbances in the community. (File photo) I am not sure where you got the 20 years old from? But I will take your word for it. I knew that these signs were common in the southern islands but didn’t realise that this had also been going in Pai for at least 20 years. It doesn’t seem to deter them, 30,000 showed up there last year.
  6. while these “No Israeli” signs have been seen for decades in Thailand do you have any evidence that this sign is not current? I think you are confused. The PM dismissed that the Israelis were putting up “No Thais” signs, not that Thais were not putting up “No Israeli” signs.
  7. I haven’t seen any signs in Thailand saying no Brits, Germans or Aussies. I think denying there is a problem is the reason there is a problem. Some people just can not be told.
  8. From the Israeli embassy, do you think I made it up? It was front page of Thailands biggest English language newspaper yesterday. Should we pretend it is not happening?
  9. In the news again today. Residents of Pai in recent weeks have reported a string of incidents involving Israeli nationals. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2966000/israelis-encouraged-to-maintain-appropriate-behaviour-by-embassy.
  10. Obviously did something to provoke him. A lot of foreigners speak down to Thais
  11. Just a bit of personal for a big weekend.
  12. You have obviously never been in a Thailand ice factory’s
  13. I didn’t realise ladyboys was such an important issue in the USA. Thailand seems to have a lot but it doesn’t get all political. They just get on with life and live and let live.
  14. Rogan is a conspiracy loon cashing in on people who are susceptible to looney conspiracies.
  15. Well it is legal now, I like the sweet smell of ganga. Much better than when they cook Pad Krapaow which makes many people start coughing.
  16. Head down to the party islands for full moon parties etc. Plenty of booze, drugs and young men for them there. They will have a ball. If they are not on the pill then pack some condoms. And take some sunscreen.
  17. And you know where they met?
  18. I think they are proud that they don’t produce frail snowflakes who constantly moan and groan and sweat the small stuff like some people do. Like you.
  19. Most of the people in that crowd cheering had probably lost children in their own families. This will never end, the hatred will be passed on from generation to generation
  20. The way it is going in a few decades this will be the only snow we have.
  21. They were not my signs, they were Thai business people that had been burnt before. Anyway, good information, I won’t be visiting Pai until they clear them out.
  22. Do posters here post photos of their wives? Or is it what you just imagine?
  23. Phuket isn’t for the poor or budget travelers. It is for those who want to live it up. Life is short. You can’t take it with you.
  24. They were the days. I rented one last week like that.
