Sexpat: The term sexpat is a portmanteau of “sex” and “expat” (short for expatriate) and refers to a person, typically a man, who relocates or frequently travels to foreign countries with the primary or significant purpose of engaging in sexual activities, often with local women. The term is often used pejoratively to describe individuals who exploit socio-economic disparities, especially in developing countries, to engage in sex tourism or exploitative relationships. Sexpats may move to or visit regions where they believe sexual relationships are easier to obtain, cheaper, or involve fewer legal or social consequences. The term is commonly associated with certain parts of Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, though it can apply to any region. The concept is criticized for perpetuating inequality, exploiting vulnerable populations, and sometimes contributing to human trafficking or the sex trade. While sexpat and sex tourist are related terms, they describe different types of behavior, and the distinction between the two generally revolves around duration, intent, and the nature of the relationship to the host country. 1. Sex Tourist • Definition: A sex tourist is typically someone who travels to a foreign country for a short period specifically to engage in sexual activities, often with locals who work in the sex trade. • Characteristics: • Short-term travel: A sex tourist might visit a country for a week or two, with a primary or secondary goal of participating in the local sex industry. • No long-term commitment to the location: They don’t typically establish a permanent residence in the country they visit. • Purely transactional: Interactions are typically brief and often focused on paid sexual encounters, with little to no intent of forming relationships. • Focus on Exploitation: The term is often used negatively, associated with people who exploit economic disparities in developing nations to engage in cheap or easily accessible sex. 2. Sexpat • Definition: A sexpat is an expatriate—someone who has moved or lives abroad—who has a lifestyle that revolves around engaging in sexual relationships with locals. This may involve both paid sexual encounters and longer-term relationships, often with significant power imbalances. • Characteristics: • Long-term residence: Sexpats often settle or live long-term in countries where they can engage in relationships, sometimes semi-permanent, with local partners. Many live there for years or even permanently. • Relationships beyond one-time encounters: Unlike sex tourists, sexpats might seek out what they consider more “meaningful” relationships, though they may still be largely transactional. These could involve cohabitation, longer-term dating, or “girlfriend experience” arrangements. • More embedded in the local community: Sexpats may integrate into the expat community in the country, developing social ties and making the country their home, though these ties may still be rooted in sexual relationships. Key Differences: • Duration of Stay: • Sex Tourist: Short-term visits. • Sexpat: Long-term or permanent relocation to another country. • Nature of Interactions: • Sex Tourist: Mostly focuses on brief, often anonymous encounters that are purely transactional (usually through the sex trade). • Sexpat: May involve both transactional and semi-permanent relationships, including “girlfriend” or “wife” arrangements that still carry an economic component. • Commitment to Location: • Sex Tourist: Has no strong ties to the country beyond the visit. • Sexpat: Chooses to live in the country and becomes part of the local expat community, though their interactions may remain exploitative. • Motivation: • Sex Tourist: Primarily visits a country for sexual activities, often as part of a broader vacation or travel itinerary. • Sexpat: May have moved to the country specifically to enjoy the benefits of the local dating or sex culture on a long-term basis, often influenced by the power imbalance in their favor. Overlap: • Both sex tourists and sexpats exploit economic or social differences between themselves and local populations. • Both terms are often used pejoratively to criticize behaviors that contribute to the exploitation of individuals in the sex trade or socially disadvantaged groups. In summary, while a sex tourist tends to engage in short-term, often anonymous or transactional encounters during travel, a sexpat stays in the foreign country long-term, often building their life around more sustained and sometimes superficially more “stable” relationships, though they may still exploit the same economic and social imbalances.

Nothing like the smell of your own underarm sweat to get you going? 75 Baht a bottle for that perfume. I can imagine she is awaiting the next bottle from you with bated breath. You mean only if your wallet was thicker?

I found the following list of 4 places as possible venues for a really good toasted ham and cheese sandwich, but I'm not personally familiar with any of these places: 1. Maison Eric Kayser 2. Rocket Coffeebar 3. Baker Gonna Bake 4. Casa Lapin

Has anyone found a really good proper place for a nice, hearty ham and cheese Panino sandwich in Bangkok where the sandwich is toasted with a nice, generous amount of thinly-sliced ham and some nice, gooey melted cheese dripping out of the sides of the sandwich? I'm expecting people are gonna say go to 7-Eleven because their grilled ham and cheese sandwiches gained a lot of notoriety and have become a thing, but I'm looking for the real deal. Nothing processed or made with fake cheese from trans fats, but something authentic, with some nice bread and both quality ham and cheese. I assume there are some places that do it right and really specialize in it, but I wouldn't know where they are. Dean & Delucca perhaps? If you found any good ones that are worth the effort to track down and devour then please share your insight and experience on the quest for a finely toasted ham and cheese.

Could do with some support and advice here ?

I was in a serious relationship nearly 30 years ago with a Thai woman who had similar issues and it took a huge toll on me. Your partner might have mental health issues that are not so apparent now, but may become more apparent as time goes on. In the case I experienced, the women was bipolar and had anger issues from an abusive childhood. Same sort of emotional highs and lows. They used to call it manic depressive. Now they just call it bipolar. It probably won't get better over time, more likely it will get worse and she could start to drag you down even more with her. I'm not one to tell anybody what to do with their relationship, but this one seems to have more negatives than positives as you explained. If it were me, I would probably be looking to move on before the situation worsens. -
Dems fear harris is MIA during campaign stretch: …

You gotta be kidding me, quoting from that sloppy rag the New York Post, but back reality, Trump is too scared to debate her again, or even appear on 60 minutes on his own, yet Harris will be on 60 Minutes on Monday. -
Cannabis-Intoxicated British Man Arrested for Trespassing and Overstay
FriscoKid replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The whole narrative relating to cannabis use is so dumb. If anything, the cannabis made the guy less aggressive when he did a runner. He would have done a runner anyway because he was on visa overstay, and he had broken into some homes, but likely the cannabis subdued him a bit and made him easier to deal with. Imagine he was a bit drunk instead. Then he probably would have been far more violent and aggressive for the police to deal with at that point. Might have ended up in a blood filled tussle, and with half his clothes getting torn off in the process, whilst trying to capture the guy. Have seen the photos with drunk and bloodied guys down in Pattaya too many times. This guy came out looking fine after being apprehended. Thank goodness for his cannabis use. -

That's exactly why he won't appear. His deranged cat eating fetish already cost him the election. It seems the JD Vance cat obsession is rampant throughout the GOP now.

Guys, do you cheat on your Thai wife/girlfriend?

Kidneys don’t recover. If you stop the cause of what’s causing kidney damage then creatinine levels might improve a bit. But unfortunately damage is damage and isn’t reversible. Good that your kidneys still seem in good shape. But kidneys do naturally degrade too with age. So I would still get a creatinine and BUN test every 6 months to be sure. If you can afford it I would also opt for Descovy. It’s only the cost of a short-time and then most of the kidney risk is removed from the equation. As you age it would really be a safer way to go. Truvada is definitely known to be hard on the kidneys. That’s why they keep testing the kidneys with people taking the drug who still appear to have healthy kidneys. Also, I was wrong. The injection still isn’t available yet in Thailand. That’s a shame. -

Descovy was only approved for use for PrEP since late 2019 in the USA and it's only been available in Thailand since 2023. So it's something that wasn't available yet when you started taking Truvada 5 years ago and it's considered the newer and safer drug now for PrEP. A list of drugs and prices offered by the Thai Red Cross can be seen on the following link: https://th.trcarc.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/ARV-price-list-update-20-Apr-2023.pdf As I mentioned, Descovy is available at the Thai Red Cross on the above link for ฿1,650 for a 30 day supply, so it costs ฿55 per tablet. That is also a generic I believe, and there is only that one generic option in Thailand. Truvada, which has multiple generic options in Thailand, can be gotten for less than 1/3 the price as you already know. But given the fact that Descovy is much safer for the kidneys, I would opt for Descovy over Truvada, even with the higher cost. The injection is available in Thailand, but not sure where it can be gotten. I would opt for the injection though too because there is much lower risk of kidney damage from an injection than from any pill form and it's also supposed to be more effective than all the pill forms of PrEP. Your creatinine levels can indeed shoot up high if your kidneys become compromised and damaged from long term use of Truvada. If that happens, there is nothing you can do to reverse the damage I believe. That's why I would opt for Descovy if you can afford it. -
Inflation? If your presidential candidate is trying to sell you a $100,000 watch it means he don't give a fank about what you're paying for eggs.

Sounds good. I would go with a local generic too. Sounds like a good cost savings. But I would prefer the newer Descovy drug over Truvada. Truvada is known to be much harder on the kidneys. Does the Thai Red Cross in Bangkok also offer a cheap locally made version of Descovy? Also, has your Creatinine level increased much since you started using Truvada 5 years ago? Also, there is an injectible PrEP drug now which is supposed to be more effective than both of those two tablet forms. I don't think the Thai Red Cross offers it, but maybe they do, I think the Pulse Clinics in Bangkok might have it. It is called Apretude (cabotegravir is the actual drug name). I don't know what it costs, but it is two initial shots spread out one month apart and then just one shot every 2 months after that. Apparently much less risk of any kidney damage. -

I thought about taking it. How long have you been taking it, and what's it like? Do you have any side effects from it like fatigue, nausea or headaches? Are you using Truvada or Descovy? I'm pretty sure they offer Descovy at the Thai Red Cross anonymous clinic in Bangkok for a price of 1,650 Baht for 30 tablets. My understanding is that PreP is a lower dose and a less expansive regiment of drugs used in the one a day antiretroviral treatment given to people who are HIV positive. Truvada can also be heavy on the kidneys, but Descovy is much less so I believe.
