OMG, what a top moaner. He's paranoid and running scared. He could soon qualify to be the next butt-hurt top-poster on AN: “That’s a lovely meeting … like trying to figure out, how do we screw the United States of America”. https://www.bangkokpost.com/world/3003559/xis-vietnam-trip-aims-to-screw-us-trump-complains HANOI - Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday urged Vietnam to join forces in upholding free trade, before wrapping up a visit that President Donald Trump said was aiming to “screw” the United States. Xi was visiting Vietnam as part of a Southeast Asian tour that will also include Malaysia and Cambodia, aiming to position Beijing as a stable alternative to Trump as leaders confront US tariffs. The Chinese leader called on his country and Vietnam on Monday to “oppose unilateral bullying and uphold the stability of the global free trade system”, according to Beijing’s state media. Hours later, Trump told reporters at the White House that their talks were aimed at hurting the United States. “I don’t blame China. I don’t blame Vietnam. I don’t. I see they’re meeting today, and that’s wonderful,” he said. “That’s a lovely meeting … like trying to figure out, how do we screw the United States of America.” China and Vietnam signed 45 cooperation agreements on Monday, including on supply chains, artificial intelligence, joint maritime patrols and railway development. Xi said at a meeting with Vietnam’s top leader To Lam on Monday that their countries were “standing at the turning point of history … and should move forward with joined hands”. Lam said after the talks that the two leaders “reached many important and comprehensive common perceptions”, according to the Vietnam News Agency. Before leaving for Malaysia, Xi laid a red wreath emblazoned with his name and the words “Long live Vietnam’s great leader President Ho Chi Minh” at the late leader’s mausoleum in central Hanoi. He also attended the launch of the Vietnam-China Railway Cooperation project, which will help manage an $8-billion rail project — announced this year — to link Vietnam’s largest northern port city to the border with China. The rail link is a “matter of great concern” to the leaders of the two countries, the Vietnam News Agency said. The new rail line will run through some of Vietnam’s key manufacturing hubs, home to Samsung, Foxconn, Pegatron and other global giants, many of whom rely on a regular flow of components from China. Xi’s trip came almost two weeks after the United States — the biggest export market for Vietnam in the first three months of the year — imposed a 46% levy on Vietnamese goods as part of a global tariff blitz. Although the US tariffs on the manufacturing powerhouse and most other countries have been paused, China still faces enormous levies and is seeking to tighten regional trade ties and offset their impact during Xi’s first overseas trip of the year. The Chinese president was travelling onward to Malaysia before visiting Cambodia on a tour that “bears major importance” for the broader region, Beijing has said. Xi earlier urged Vietnam and China to “resolutely safeguard the multilateral trading system, stable global industrial and supply chains, and open and cooperative international environment”. He also reiterated Beijing’s line that a “trade war and tariff war will produce no winner, and protectionism will lead nowhere” in an article published on Monday in the Vietnamese state-run newspaper Nhan Dan. China and Vietnam, both ruled by communist parties, already share a “comprehensive strategic partnership”, Hanoi’s highest diplomatic status. Vietnam has long pursued a “bamboo diplomacy” approach — striving to stay on good terms with both China and the United States. The two countries have close economic ties, but Hanoi shares US concerns about Beijing’s increasing assertiveness in the contested South China Sea.

China tells airlines to suspend Boeing jet deliveries
FriscoKid replied to FriscoKid's topic in Political Soapbox
It’s all a pipe dream. The US has wanted to stop trading with China for decades, but it can’t because there’s no alternative source for that $500+ billion worth of annual goods, and they can’t produce it themselves. All the “what if this” and “what if that” talk is just a big waste of time. Meanwhile, China can easily live without the US. The only reason they ever bought anything from the US was to keep the trade deficit from ballooning even more. But now they just don’t care. China will get what it needs elsewhere, most likely at even lower cost, and the US will struggle. Sure, there are other potential sources for the same products and raw materials the US needs, but at what cost to the US? If a better or even equal option to China existed, the US would’ve taken it a long time ago. -
Jeeez, You must be really rattled, two replies fired off at me before I even had time to type a word back. If I’d known a few lines from someone operating several levels above your grade could send you into such a tizzy, I’d have responded earlier. But hey, if clutching onto the word “pathetic” gives your life a flicker of purpose, who am I to deny you that? Just imagine being you and typing out your steady flow of over 100 posts of pure troll rubbish a day and thinking you ever landed a solid blow. Must be exhausting lugging around that much misplaced confidence day after day, Susan.

How charming. You haven’t called me “weirdo” yet today, but I’m sure it’s coming. You’ve only got about five insults in your entire vocabulary and you’ve nearly exhausted them all already, so I guess we’re approaching the full extent of your linguistic genius. Meanwhile, you remain the comedy gift that just keeps on giving. Pattaya? LOL. I won't be going back to Thailand for the foreseeable future. I’m in Switzerland right now and then I'm off to Tahiti in another 3 weeks, then to Monte Carlo for a week and finally to Dubai for a few months. After that, who knows. Still undecided. Oh, how I wish you were here. I’d even offer you the spare bedroom in the Airbnb I’m renting, but let’s be honest, you couldn’t even afford the airfare to get here. What a pity.

China tells airlines to suspend Boeing jet deliveries
FriscoKid replied to FriscoKid's topic in Political Soapbox
That article is from over a year ago. Presumably they've had a number of order cancellations since then and, combine that with the fact that China is pulling out, then things are probably not looking so rosy anymore. Meanwhile, the stock market is up today and their stock price is down 1.5% on the day. -
China tells airlines to suspend Boeing jet deliveries

They could always buy used planes and refurbish them themselves. They also know how to build airplanes. China manufactures both commercial and military airplanes. Military aircraft: China is a major producer of military planes. Companies like AVIC (Aviation Industry Corporation of China) develop and produce fighter jets, bombers, transport aircraft, and drones. Notable examples include the Chengdu J-20 stealth fighter and the Xian H-6 bomber. Commercial aircraft: China is also investing heavily in commercial aviation. The state-owned company COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) developed the C919, a narrow-body airliner designed to compete with the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. COMAC also produces regional jets like the ARJ21. -
I was going to respond to your post, but then I realized you already described yourself better than I ever could. So thanks for saving me the effort. I could tack on the obvious: that you’re severely overweight, you have a drinking problem, live off garbage food, and slum around in bottom-of-the-barrel hotels and budget eateries I wouldn’t step foot in, but you already know that I’m a high roller and that you’re not. The Airbnb I’m staying in right now costs more per night than two weeks at the dumps you call hotels in Isaan. The idea that you could even afford a rental car for a week? That’s just comedy gold. 😂

China tells airlines to suspend Boeing jet deliveries

Naah, Trump will buy up a fleet of Boeing jets and donate them to Bukele just so he can start wrongly deporting more Americans into his little penal colony experiment. Then, in true art-of-the-deal fashion, he’ll call up his pal Putin to scoop up the leftover Boeing inventory that China doesn’t want anymore. Oh wait... because yeah, that’s exactly the kind of thing those pesky sanctions on Russia don’t cover, right? -
I've seen street-walking footage of the down town area of Armenia. Looks pretty run down and dangerous in some parts. It's all yours. But do send us a postcard when you move there.

This move hits Boeing hard, given China’s projected 20% share of global aircraft demand over the next two decades. -
You would. Traveling long distances overland within Thailand for weeks on-end is only recommended for low-class, budget-stricken twonkers.

China has told its airlines to stop taking deliveries of jets from American aviation giant Boeing, a report said Tuesday, as a trade war between Beijing and the United States deepens. Since President Donald Trump took office in January, the world's two biggest economies have been locked in a tit-for-tat tariff war, with the US now charging levies of up to 145 percent on imports from China. Beijing has reacted furiously to what it calls unlawful "bullying" by Washington and has imposed retaliatory duties of 125 percent on US imports, dismissing further hikes as pointless. Bloomberg News reported Tuesday that China had also ordered airlines to halt deliveries of Boeing planes, citing people familiar with the matter. Beijing has also told its carriers to suspend purchases of aircraft-related equipment and parts from US companies, the financial news outlet reported the people as saying. AFP has contacted Boeing and China's foreign ministry for comment. Beijing's reciprocal tariffs on US imports would likely have triggered significant rises in the cost of bringing in aircraft and components. Bloomberg said the Chinese government is mulling helping carriers that lease Boeing jets and face higher costs. Trump's fusillade of tariffs has roiled world markets and upended diplomacy with allies and adversaries alike. The mercurial US leader announced an abrupt freeze on further hikes last week but gave Beijing no immediate reprieve. US officials on Friday announced exemptions from the latest duties against China and others for a range of high-end tech goods such as smartphones, semiconductors and computers. https://www.yahoo.com/news/china-tells-airlines-suspend-boeing-085459530.html

Consequences of China's rare earth export halt

Bye-bye F-47s. -
That's a classic MAGA response. Ignoring and obfuscating facts that are based upon actual data being provided to back it up, and then going on to inject conspiracy theories to try and derail and distract from the topic and the truth. Yagoda 101 style political trolling. The forum is riddled with posts like yours. I hope nobody wastes their time even responding any further to what you wrote because it is just predictable, baiting rubbish without any substance.

All of his posts follow the exact same formula. He pretends to make some groundbreaking discovery about a place, usually a discovery that’s completely off the mark, and then plays the role of the bumbling fool, just to sit back and enjoy the spectacle of everyone trying to educate him on a topic he clearly already understands. He’s done the same routine with the Philippines, with Thailand, and probably a few other places I’ve lost track of by now. It’s like clockwork. Every 8 to 12 months he’ll churn out another post about Pattaya, declaring how disappointed he is, how boring it is after spending the first week there out of his four week planned holiday, how he’s utterly disillusioned, and how all the expats there are just a sad pack of washed-up, lonely, old drunks. The last time he pulled this same folly about Pattaya was on March 15, in another new topic he titled “To become an expat.” Someone called him out by linking all his past posts on the same subject, and his response? “Oh stop taking life too seriously you surly old miserable git !”, which, of course, just confirmed he’s always been in it purely for the windup. He’s not confused. He’s not curious. He’s just having a laugh at the expense of anyone who takes his bait. He just a cheaper and more dumbed down, attention-seeking version of Bob Smith.

How do you know that? How do you know they didn't do it merely to scare or intimidate her. Do you just make this sh* t up as you go? You are assuming the DHS under Trump is inept, and they probably are, but this appears to be clearly intentional or they would have reached out to her by now to correct their mistake.

How stupid is China for retaliating to Trumps tariffs?
FriscoKid replied to hotsun's topic in Political Soapbox
Clearly you've had too much "hot sun" and are now deliriously confused about how the whole battle of percentages unfolded to begin with. In fact, Trump has already blinked and retracted the tariffs on 25% of the goods imported by the US from China. So he's demonstrated his weakness for Chinese-made goods. Meanwhile, China realizes Trump's whole little folly is just a bumbling joke. So try and keep up and in the meantime slather on some sunscreen before you go back out and jump into the hot sun again so as to prevent even more of your inherent delirium. -
Absolutely buzzing for you, mate. What a transformation. One minute you’re getting locked up in Thailand and learning about trauma from attack monkeys in the street, the next you’re having epiphanies in the janitor’s closet with a bloke from Punjab who’s just blown your todger, then your mind, by confirming that yes, India is, in fact, really in Asia. Breathtaking stuff. I can only imagine the spiritual awakening that followed. Did you also find out where the sun doesn't shine and then where it goes at night? Honestly, watching your journey unfold is like tuning in to a BBC documentary written by someone who’s never left their post-code there in the outback. And now you’re on to India. Full of wonder, wide-eyed like a gap year student clutching his pearls and a first-edition Lonely Planet guide, but with zero intention of going anywhere. The way you breezed past thirty forum responses already telling you why your fantasy’s a complete lark, that the place is a filthy toilet you’ll never be able to get clean with even your biggest mop, only for you to pop back in with “Ooh, Mumbai looks OK and someone said Goa” is absolute windup artistry. You’ve got commitment, I’ll give you that. Commitment to pretending you’re discovering a brave new world, while everyone else realizes they’ve just wasted an hour giving life advice to someone who probably thinks Delhi’s a type of lunch meat. But please, keep us posted. Maybe next week you’ll stumble upon Vietnam, Tibet or Nepal and ask if Mount Everest is a good spot to build a bungalow. Or discover that Asia isn’t a state in Australia after all. Whatever happens, we’re all here for the ride, watching the insufferable slow-motion train-wreck of faux-enlightenment and Google Maps tourism. The world is your oyster, broom-closet explorer.
