  1. I was on Sukhumvit between Nana and Asoke a couple weekends ago while sober and was very surprised to see all the businesses lined with African and Arab men.  I mean, if I want to buy a 'dildo for her pleasure,' I'm going to buy it from an old fat Thai woman. These foreign male hawkers made no attempt to speak English or Thai to me as I passed.  And over half of the prostitutes lining the sidewalk and under bridges were from Africa.  What's a tourist straight off the plane with yellow fever to do?  It's not that I wouldn't fancy a bit of brown cinnamon or even a bit of dark chocolate; that's not it at all.  I just wonder what all the p. Lek's and p. Som's and their sick moms and buffalo are doing?  Where have they migrated because from what I can see, they are getting kicked off every corner.  I made it down by that dump Thermae, (just street level, mind you) and again was surprised.  African pimps everywhere!  I mean...a little self-respect, ladies.  No one is going to shake down an African hooker working freelance, except perhaps the Thai police, so what were all these dicks loitering around about?  Was there a two for one deal on Big Mac's I didn't know about?   It's a dog eat dog world out there, I guess.  Call me nostalgic for the 'old days' (like a couple years ago) when a man could slide down Sukhumvit get pigeon English cooed at him from ally ways.  Hell, I'd even take the ladyboy's returning over what is out there now. :)
Police operation black eagle is s start
  2. Alcohol is a problem for British society, almost nobody drinks because of choice but because of need or addiction.    But everyone is in denial.    It's funny to see people whenever there is religious holiday here in Thailand, showing big concern by asking if alcohol still going to be sold....
Such a big problem that pubs are opening on every street in the UK.

  3. Taking drugs is everyone's own decision while getting stabbed relates on another person action which you don't have any influence.
If you argument like this, you could also prosecute manufacturer of alcohol, tobacco, weapons, knifes, cars etc
Tobacco the same if made illegal
Alchohol has some health benefits if used in moderation.
Weapons sold to civilians should be banned.
Knives and standard cars have other uses and benefits.

  4. The yellow tambien baan is no longer accepted by Department of Land and Transport (DLT).
Today I wanted to extend my driving license(DL) at DLT in Pattaya
and had the yellow house book with me as proof of residence, it was not accepted.
They only accepted a Certificate of Residence (CR) from imigration,
no tambien baan no thai ID-card not the old DL only the CR from imigration.
I went down to Jomtien and handed in my passport, 3 photos and 600 baht,
they asked me for prove of Residence, I showed my old driving license (which will soon expire)
as proof and it was accepted.

So DLT demands CR from imigration to give you a new DL and
imigration demands a DL to give you a CR to show to DLT as proof.
    T.I.T.
  5. And what if he doesn't turn up dead or alive? Does that mean he could be either dead or alive? And if no trace of him is ever found, will the coroner eventually rule that he is likely to be dead or alive? Hmmm ... perhaps Irish folk have a different state of being that I haven't heard of before -- pickled in Guinness and therefore in a state of suspended animation????

    Schrödinger's Irishman?
  6. Tell it to the judge: US tourist says he stole Chiang Mai rental car "while sleep walking"

A US tourist has told Thai police that he stole a rental car while he was asleep.

He had no idea what he was doing as he drove 30 kilometers out of town this morning having two scrapes, he claimed.

The timber yard worker - named only as Jarred - said it happens to him all the time, he's not responsible.

He will have to tell that to the judge - his offer to compensate the rental company for their losses cannot settle a criminal offence, reported Sanook

The drama began early this morning, Monday, when owner Withaya arrived at his Tha Pae rental company to discover that a Honda City car had been stolen. While cleaning was taking place the day before staff had inadvertently left the keys in the ignition overnight.

Police were contacted and after 191 radioed ahead the suspect was soon found driving near the Sri Bun Reuang intersection in Mae Rim.

Despite being asleep the suspect was able to realize the officials wanted him and he fled the scene starting a "sleep run" but was soon rounded up.

Jarred said that whenever he is stressed he will fall asleep. "It happens all the time," he continued,"and while I am asleep I can do the oddest things. Just like this, you see, I had no idea that I had stolen a vehicle and driven it off".

About the damage to the front and back of the Honda he added: "I have no idea what I hit. Don't worry - I'll pay for everything".

As he was taken away his final comment was:

    "I'm not on drugs".

Immigration found out that he had arrived in Thailand three days ago in Bangkok and traveled to Chiang Mai where he had been for two nights at a hotel near the rental shop in Moon Muang road Muang district.

Police believe the theft happened at between 6 and 7am.

They said that the American worked in a timber yard and that the US consulate in Chiang Mai has been informed.

Jarred was detained ahead of prosecution for theft.

Not safe to be out alone in the US let alone travelling internationally.
How does he get a driving licence with that sort of mental disability?
