Every single day!!!! Every day!!! All I read about is how bad these farangs are, and every other farang wants them imprisoned, blacklisted, thrown off a building....... it's so funny how we all hate each other, and all this does is make it harder on us. Yes, new laws because of the bad farangs. not 90 day report, 90 minutes. 800 million, not 800k. every farang is responsible for their own countrymen. these bad apples are making Thais look at all of us as savages. I can't wait until tomorrow..... why did I choose to live in a place that attracts the worst humans ever??? oh, wait, he only threw a rock, broke a window, didn't kill anyone, no drugs, no rape, no theft, something that happens 10 million times a minute in Baltimore. anyhow.... I was here in 2008. exactly the same. if you are reading this in the year 8703, yes, same same and not different.

Report Vietnamese Sex Workers Surge in Bangkok Amid Visa Policy Concerns
Quentin Zen replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
If 1,000 was accepted, they would try to negotiate down to 500, then 200, then 100, then 50. They must not have been very hansum. I've never seen a Vietnamese sex worker in Bangkok. yes, will start immediately. What, all short-term hotels are full? -

rising, from where? I just assumed it was already near 99.99999%. So, yea, I guess there's still room.

i think you have been in the sun too long. Why did anyone from Japan ever begin playing a game created by the Americans? Alexander Cartwright is the father of baseball. In 1845, he developed the basic rules of the game as we now know it. On September 23, he organized the Knickerbocker Base Ball Club of New York. The members of the club traveled to Hoboken to practice the game under his new rules at Elysian Fields.

well, we have technology for that. I thought this was defamation and libel? Even if he did do this, aren't they hurting his reputation? No, I don't mean reporting him to the police, but going to a journalist instead. anyhow.....this monk needs to go. Some monks, teachers, elderly, etc.... have a really strange control over others. I don't blame them for going there because it was two people and clearly nothing horrible was going to happen (odds were low enough - dude is 76, at a temple, etc...). Hold on, this doesn't seem very monk-like. 10 years of living here, and only once did a monk come up to me and ask if I could buy him a bottle of water. very strange. I had to make a judgment. I talked to him in Thai; he seemed Thai, seemed to be a monk, and it was super hot. I spent the 15 baht and he gave me a wai and said good luck in Thai. Both strange. I have no idea what happened. Whatever, my day went on...... He was old, smelled bad, seemed like he needed the water.

I assume all these stories are made up... Would you really come onto a forum and ask some "people" how to manage your own money? No, of course not. It is fun, and one day I might read it. One thing I can guarantee.....this story isn't done. Nobody who likes these posts ends at only two. Next update My bubble is pregnant and needs 1 million for her sick sister who got kidnapped by a ninja. Then we'll get into some really crazy stuff...... being creative is good, but this isn't my first rodeo. Surprise us next time!!!!!

this is food, so the government should subsidize. take loans, issue bonds, do whatever.... food is key. wait until all the programmers get priced out by AI and their salaries go to 0. This is life. Adapting is hard. We all learn. new Tourist Visa..... Rice farming visa. RFV. 100,000 baht for 10-year visa, all proceeds go to farmers.

This is the LAST of their concerns. It's like me saying I have no debt (which is true), so then...... so then nothing. In 2024, the US had a GDP of $29.7 trillion, while Russia's GDP was approximately $2.196 trillion Absolutely no comparison. Look at all financial metrics and it will tell you that debt/GDP is not a concern right now. It might be, but not right now. Every decade people say this will DESTROY America.....hahahahahhahahahhahahahahah....10000000% wrong

Without our smartphones, where would we be in 2025?
Quentin Zen replied to hankypankee's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
where would we be without cars, planes, computers, safe water, medicine, hospitals, good universities, good doctors, smart engineers, great teachers, police, firefighters, Pattaya.... smartphones are simply the progression of many things that came before, and now, because of smart phones, we will get Alien AI girlfriends to marry and never have an argument!!!! Then I'll have AI dogs, my BFF, AI movies, and soon life will be ready for the next step.... Super BlackHole Accommodation. Take a trip to the nearest black hole in the Milky Way for only 100 baht!!!! It's so much better than riding elephants!!!! stay in the past......that's fine. The 90s only had crazy mafia and serial killers running around everywhere, that was crazy. Now my phone can save my grandfather if he slips, breaks a hip, and nobody is around. That's pretty kool. or maybe that's his watch. anyhow... -
access denied to enter in thailand
Quentin Zen replied to kiwi147's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This student visa was an Educational visa, and you did study Thai for a period of time? Maybe they will quiz you again. I was on an Ed visa and could now probably write and name about 25 to 30 Thai letters and almost all the vowels. There are probably 10 more that are used very rarely. I think there are 44 total. Anyhow, maybe try to remember 10 for next time. It's all about how important this is to you. If super important, get an agent, do the safe entry thing...and during that you will find out if blacklisted. I wouldn't take it too personally, since I've had immigration agents who weren't super nice to me. Most are, some are rather cold. Of course, I wasn't there. Seems pretty serious, so take it seriously. -

The guy who said he had to borrow money from basically the mafia to buy a used car? Yeah, I don't trust that guy. The gu isy afraid to go back to Russia and comes to Thailand. not the best role model, IMO I will continue to self-police YouTubers if they are breaking laws in Thailand. It's fun to name and shame them, and hope they get arrested. makes us all look bad. Certainly you don't condone this? clearly we can't turn a blind eye, he recorded it. I didn't like or subscribe to it. watched some, was revolted, posted.... shame on him. who does this???? apparently, he does. -
Common Roles Foreigners Fall Into in Thailand
Quentin Zen replied to Alpha84's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Talked to a Russian the other day, and he told me he does "online management of tour groups." I smiled, OK. Let's NOT kid ourselves. We have 11. Absolute scam artists 12. Thieves 13. Online customer support 14. Nanny. Well, let's say Fake Nanny for now. Heard a lot of "funny" stories of expats in Laos telling my co-workers how their entire existence revolves around scamming tourists. -
Hold on, are you telling me wet roads are not the same as dry??????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!? Show me the science!!!!! Ah, forget it, I'll check TikTok. Traction, stopping distance, and hydroplaning... that means go faster!!! Let me ask ChatGPT but then not listen to the warning. These drivers need better education. How much more dangerous? Some studies indicate that the risk of a crash increases by 27% in mild rain and 75% in moderate rainstorms. Weather-related crashes are more frequent on wet pavement, accounting for 75% of weather-related vehicle crashes. Over 3,400 people are killed and over 357,300 are injured in crashes during rainfall annually.

Scary out there. First you have the motorbikes, usually no helmet and who knows how many people are hanging off, then the pedestrians that almost never look both ways - pet peeves, crazy - and then you have the fast cars, slow cars, drunk drivers, high drivers, farang drivers, trucks, vans, vans with the driver tired, tuk tuks, animals, and then add the weather on top of it and it gets 10x more dangerous. pretty hilly there, windy roads, maybe a little oil, who knows, BUT I wouldn't be surprised if there's more to it than simply him driving crazy on a road void of traffic.

If there is no life after death...
Quentin Zen replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
If my old brain remembers correctly, churches are built and pay no taxes or get some crazy tax breaks in America. Then they ask for money all week, but they gotta keep the lights on!!!! It's such a big business, I can't take that stuff seriously. Money and exploitation, but they do help the poor, generally do good for a community, and I think good for little kids (no contact, just in the congregation). i won't protest to take them down, but if I was Trump, I would get that church money. If I think they are a business, then I'm not buying what they are selling. Life after death? 90% no. I think we all know this, and that's what gives us anxiety. No life after death, but we are still here. A person. I think it's super important to treat kids the best, give more than take (when you get older, of course!! young kids like to take), and be proud of what you have accomplished. No regrets. We've all done bad stuff in the past, so just try to be a better person going forward. exercise, less beer, give more, laugh more, read more, do more......sleep better. repeat. One thing we know for sure, our current form won't come back, so at least try to have people think highly of you when you are gone..... -

Good detective work!!!!!! That window was handmade by 32 tribes in Northern Thailand, glass procured from the volcanoes of Zemptuka. Cost to replace: 20 billion baht.
