  1. I'm sure it will be a Mai bpen rai my good man!!!! We are only talking about money. All is forgotten. The head of snake and the entire snake will forget this loan forever. Just like with gang bangers and prison. Once inside, the outside is totally forgotten. or not.
  2. so close, but yet nobody (in public) ever brings it up. At least 5,350 civilians have been killed, and more than 3.3 million displaced, since the military seized power on 1 February 2021, and over half the population is living below the poverty line mainly due to violence perpetrated by the national armed forces. Furthermore, nearly 27,400 people have been arrested, and numbers have been rising since the implementation of mandatory conscription this past February.
  3. I can't imagine anyone in uni (if applicable, hope it is) says, "I'll go to Thailand where I can't speak the language, girls will only want my money, the heat will beat me down, and i'll cough because of the smoke as immigration bangs on my door while I eat my 20 baht noodle soup!!!" This has been a great decade escape before retirement. Probably one more year and then back home. I can't tell you how many farangs have asked me for money, favors, confessed crimes, drank at noon, etc......that's fine but it's not for me forever. girls are fine, but not to marry. deep conversation impossible place is beautiful, and a decade is long enough to enjoy. easy, easy, easy, easy life. that's what i wanted, but not forever. cheapest place in the world as far as food and housing (except for the weekly farang food). yes, things are getting more expensive now but it's relative. you must be social, make real friends, connections, be rooted in a community. that's not really possible here, i saw that during COVID. that's fine, never called this place home. but I think overall everyone (Thais) have been wonderful. slight regret. 10 years was too long. 7-8 was right. everyone should do it, but if you have the financial means i'd rather be cold with a support group when i get well into my retirement. to each their own. some love it, some deal with it, some hate it. i'll rank this place 87/100. grumpy is, IMO, about regret and we must own it ourself. Has a little to do with Thailand, but more about a cumulation of bad decisions. When I was 28, I bet I knew this lifestyle would happen to me. 10 years of a real job back in America or 10 years of escape in Thailand. The grass isn't greener, just different. I'd probably be slightly grumpy back home as well. Only slightly. "so grumpy" really means you are lost, no hope, defeatist. Yes, you see that here and back home. very sad. could happen to anyone.
  4. Examples, reasoning? Have you seen the current docket in the House and Senate, and every county where a dem resides in? They are actually quite busy. not paralyzed at all, maybe the opposite. Headline TikTok news isn't a good source of information. I do understand that it's fun to write stuff like, "The internet will be destroyed, and the Universe will end as commentators are shell-shocked and paralyzed by the recent political shift!" "Dems are unable to function, think, react or do anything as the common man cries at night!!!" but it's all just blah, blah, blah, blah.
  5. can I try to get my four jabs out of my body?? Can I sue? horse, barn, door. better luck next time. oh.
  6. great marketing. Back in the 90's, the company I worked for used to do similar things to get attention. Of course, we did it on purpose, I'm sure this was just accidental. I also think 99% of TikTok stuff is fake, so that's just me. I've probably paid over 879072480274324234 baht in bad coffee here, so I wouldn't mind spending 100+ for a real taste. Now, if this was America. After the mandatory 7800000 percent tip this wouldn't even be a story.
  7. Usually depends on your net worth. Musk upgrades every year. Oh, sooo crazy! Nah. I'm still using the same spoon from 1963. Some people use solid gold spoons. Yes, I would like new almost everything every day, but I only have 45 baht. So then I explain how that's better doe the environment. Give me 10 billion, I'll upgrade stuff.
  8. Most Thai kids (30 and under) won't ask you three questions. lol. They're pretty shy. What is your name? instead of What's....that's OK. The other mistakes are usually because they are nervous. Where you from? How old are you? Are you married? How long Thailand? What is your favorite food? ... So, yea, conversational English is pretty terrible; however, it's just not taught effectely in school. Most kids in school won't engage in speaking English unless they have to, with a few exceptions in the front row. Now, I do think Thais can read English better than we can read Thai. They can write in English OK, not great. Speaking, nah, too many Non-natives growing up really does throw a wrench in those plans. Maths, Science, not sure, but at least they are trying both subjects in English. Overall, yes, terrible; however, for 99.9% they don't make more money or get a prize if they improve. Schools don't care at all....blah, blah, blah gets you a 4.0 and you will 100% advance to the next grade. lol
  9. prob. started at 18. Imagine the stories. A Thai friend who worked in a hotel told me that a ladyboy would get three customers a day. I'm not doing the maths, and I'm not paying for that. It is fun to joke about when it's not you. Never ever bring anyone back to your room that isn't your serious gf. I hide about 10 items before cleaning cleans, and I'm super, super nice to them knowing that I have to trust they don't steal about 200-300k in stuff I don't feel like replacing. I do take all my cash with me and a few of my nicest possessions when they clean.
  10. This is why I only go to the main branch in a city to withdraw money. Usually, there's a security guard on his phone, but it's better than nothing. My feeling is he didn't work alone. Get into his phone, arrest all his contacts in Thailand, and Blacksite until they talk. This is the tip of the iceberg. It's too bad they can't sue Bulgaria, have the embassy pay, or be gone. Fines of billions. Gotta get that money.
  11. Just slabs of concrete, very little (or none) QC, workmanship in general is pretty shotty, some just hot boxes. Being in a hot climate, I'm sure it's way cheaper to build something. This is why I'll never buy in Thailand. Just look outside. Look around you. Look at the cables dangling in the air, cracks everywhere, water is a killer.... BUT, to rent it's still a great deal!!!!! Outside of a few cities, it's super cheap and I haven't lived in a building that collapsed.... yet. My last hotel did sway with the earthquake, that was super crazy. so, you get what you pay for and much more..... It's when they try to sell these concrete nightmares for 10 million......lol. no way. 4 million, nah. 1 million? nah, because they I have to live there. if Billy doesn't pay for his condo I'm on the hook. If Freddy destroys the building, we all pay. Condos can be nightmares. nope. now we must check his insurance. lol. he can hire 10 lawyers, 9 will scam him and he will be be broke before he gets to the 10th. years and years in the system. welcome, come again!!!!
  12. Was I in a coma? Let me check my calendar...
  13. 5th floor, only fan, nice breeze from the balcony, didn't need the AC last month (first tme in many months) I just got my record bill in ten years in Thailand. 123 baht. for a month. yea, record LOW. Record high is probably only about 1500 so I'm not the digital, nomad AC 24 hours guru. Airbnb. never. Every place always tries to get you when you leave......common everywhere. my depoit here is only one month, I'll never do more.
  14. Immediately hire a limo, say Pattaya city. Match on Tinder along the way, pick them up. 10k each for company per day. Get there, tip your driver 4000. Get out, anywhere, smell the stench. Follow the odor. It will lead to "paradise". Bring 50,000, help the economy. That's 50k a night. Per person. Next week, visit the clinic.
  15. I just drive with about five crisp 500 baht notes. I drive by, handing them the 500 politely without stopping, and zoom off. helmet crackdown means it's time to pay the mia noi. i want to help them out. Now, if they made the fine of 10,000 baht, I'd be ordering the carbon, tank-modified, super-ventilated helmet. being on a motorbike is the worst decision anyone can make who has enough money to avoid being on one. death traps. if it's your passion and you are super skilled, Thailand still isn't the place. hate me all you want, risks don't outweigh the benefit IMO
  16. the video is marginal, at best. So I need to use my BRAIN instead. 1. She ate, drank, likely enjoyed herself. 2. Didn't pay. 3. Didn't pay so that the police showed up. 4. Didn't pay. 5. Taken by police. 6. TWO hours she didn't pay. 7. Two hours!!!! 8. maybe now the video. i can only think of one friend i would text and ask to pay for me. but I do have a VISA with my bank, card in case i had no cash and no internet to scan. money is everything. always. always keep an extra 2 million and a few 5 baht chains just in case. no money, on "vacation", that spells jail. I tried showing them the email from a Nigerian prince......didn't work.
  17. Soi Cowboy at 11:40 p.m. on New Year's Eve. yes, I'm the most interesting man in the world. my dullest is most people's fantasies. most of the time, I want dull. give me the sounds of nature. Ploy screaming over her sick buffalo, Item coughing all night, Ohm drinking at 8 a.m., and M with a customer in my bathroom gets old.
  18. Got 4 shots. Yes, I will DIE!!!! 100%. The last shot was a few years ago, but I will still die. eventually. This is scientific proof. On the other hand, I would like to say that walking, thinking, sleeping, and reading will kill you.
  19. Every single day!!!! Every day!!! All I read about is how bad these farangs are, and every other farang wants them imprisoned, blacklisted, thrown off a building....... it's so funny how we all hate each other, and all this does is make it harder on us. Yes, new laws because of the bad farangs. not 90 day report, 90 minutes. 800 million, not 800k. every farang is responsible for their own countrymen. these bad apples are making Thais look at all of us as savages. I can't wait until tomorrow..... why did I choose to live in a place that attracts the worst humans ever??? oh, wait, he only threw a rock, broke a window, didn't kill anyone, no drugs, no rape, no theft, something that happens 10 million times a minute in Baltimore. anyhow.... I was here in 2008. exactly the same. if you are reading this in the year 8703, yes, same same and not different.
  20. If 1,000 was accepted, they would try to negotiate down to 500, then 200, then 100, then 50. They must not have been very hansum. I've never seen a Vietnamese sex worker in Bangkok. yes, will start immediately. What, all short-term hotels are full?
  21. You tell 'em!!!!!!! I'm still looking for Iran in the Top-10, maybe this is a typo. Iran might be number 982789247234 but they are going to show Trump!!!! They will easily beat a 7 year old!!!! Iran will play America like they play with a child!!!! hahahahhahahahha...yea, nah. Here are the top 10 most powerful militaries in the world as of 2025: Rank 2025 Country Power Index 2025 Total Military Personnel 2025 (est) 1 United States of America 0.0744 21,27,500 2 Russia 0.0788 35,70,000 3 China 0.0788 31,70,000 4 India 0.1184 51,37,550 5 South Korea 0.1656 38,20,000 6 United Kingdom 0.1785 11,08,860 7 France 0.1878 3,76,000 8 Japan 0.1839 3,28,150 9 Turkiye 0.1902 8,83,900 10 Italy 0.2164 2,89,000
