I don't think it is a scam. I am sure she could come up with a better justification for needing 2000 baht than needing to go to the hospital to sort some stupid Slovaks out. Why on Earth would she think somebody from the UK would want to bail some Slovaks out. Wait and see if there is crowd funding to bail a Slovak out who crashed his motor bike and has not insurance. Or has insurance but no motor cycle license.

Back in 2020 before covid I went to Kuala Lumpur for a long week end. Looking at the hotels online I couldn't believe how cheap they were. I thought I was looking at some flea pit. But no the hotels are much cheaper than Bangkok. OK I was slightly mislead as the prices were before tax but still way cheaper than Bangkok. I can't see much difference in hotel prices in Thailand and the UK and Thai costs must be way way cheaper.

My gf is a travel guide. She has a bunch of Slovaks as customers. She packed them off at their hotel at 8pm and at 8pm she is on her own time. One of the daft <deleted> got a motor bike to go somewhere or other and crashed. Broke two ribs and both legs. She has been asked to go to the hospital to help out but her credit is maxed and can't get cash. Can I send her some cash. Isn't that the responsibility of the dumb stupid Slovaks. What is the betting they have no insurance. Sending cash for Thai families is one thing. I draw the line at dumb stupid tourists.

Right one day it boom the next day it is bust. I don't change my socks as frequently as Thailand revises its tourist numbers.

Seems to me for a normally healthy person medical insurance isn't really required. The only issue would be accident insurance but wouldn't that come with the car insurance?

I normally leave my computer on so don't need to keep logging in here. How ever if the power goes off I need to log in again and every time I can't log in. I do a password reset and set the pass word exactly the same as it was before and I can log in. Does anybody else have this problem that it does not appear to recognise the password but if I reset it to the same password it works. Done this several times now resetting to the same password. Too many times to think it is something that I am doing wrong. I avoid logging off the computer to avoid having to do a password reset here.

Bloody hell, that is nearly £5000 per year. Is that with or with out pre existing conditions. If I ever retire there I will keep my roots is the UK and rely on a flight back for the NHS. Even annual travel insurance allowing 92 day stay up to age 80 allowing unlimited trips is only about £450 a year. I think I will just stick to 3 month holidays

The other advantage of Whatsapp as contact is by phone number so even if Whatsapp gets corrupted I still have the contacts phone number. If I ever lose Line I am right royally screwed. I think I am correct once you have added somebody you can't see their ID so you can't even have a back up copy of IDs. So unless you happen to have their phone number or email how can you contact them to get their Line ID again.

Right I see to remember the other person has to have add contacts by ID switched on.

I have sent the person my QR code so see if they can add me. Why do they prompt you to insert ID or phone number if only QR works. I always used to think Line beat Whatsapp hands down but no longer. Line is pants compared to Whatsapp now. Why do Thais stick with Line.

Why am I sometimes unable to find a friend's id? It comes up user not found. I always double and triple check what I typed. If I have the QR code not a problem. This occurs too many times for it to be some random glitch. I also get the same problem when I give my ID to somebody, they say that they can't find it.

Why do you say that. Of course it wasn't 6000 baht annual fee. Did you seriously think that I thought it was. But as it is Thailand I will never know what the 6000 baht was for. But it would be handy to know what the typical annual fee is for next year, if there is a next year. Knock a nought off that 6000 and I guess that would be nearer the actual fee.
