  1. I assume the anti vaxxers will say by some sheer fluke polio and small pox viruses, in the Western World at least, just miraculously died out.
  2. I wrote "My father was in it right from 1939 to 1945. He must be turning in his grave to think what he risked his life for 6 years for." The next post yours said "He's a disgrace to the British people." Sorry for the confusion but you didn't specify that you meant Charlie. Actually the only people respected in the UK now are migrants. Only people like us who have a relatives connected connected to either World war who shows any respect or interest.
  3. My ex wife renewing her UK passport has been told to send her Thai passport with the UK application. I can't think of a single reason why that is necessary. Has some strange rule come into place where dual nationals in the UK need to show their national passport when renewing their UK passport?
  4. You know it is funny, When I was at school in the 60 there was always a few kids who had a metal brace on their legs. I was told it was because they had polio. You just don't see that any more. How strange that a disease like polio just goes away on its own. There use to be small pox out breaks as well. Where did these diseases go?
  5. What my father is a disgrace to the British people? Please enlighten me. It is because of people like him that we don't salute a flag with a swastika on the middle and sing Deutschland, Deutschland über alles
  6. Even the most right wing of places there is still a hard core of leftists. Last year's election ultra right wing Aylesbury, Conservative since 1929 kicked the Tories out. Not even a Liberal Democrat. Won by Labour, admittedly only by a few hundred.
  7. I have to go back to the late 1970s to remember needing candles. There were supply problems and they to ration supply. If Tesla is on the supply side that is one thing. If it is the retail side then I would never sign up with Tesla. There are enough cowboys in the retail side as it is.
  8. What are energy solutions? Is this about being on the generation side or the supply to households? Seems Tesla of the author doesn't know how the energy supply in the UK works.
  9. My father was in it right from 1939 to 1945. He must be turning in his grave to think what he risked his life for 6 years for.
  10. Look at the Paris Olympics 1st US 2nd China 3rd Japan 4th Australia 7th UK. So true but dig a little deeper. Gold Aust 18 GB 14 Silver Aust 19 GB 22 Bronze Aust 16 GB 29. Total Aust 53 GB 65. So that is 12 more medals to the GB than Australia. Australia just bad losers.
  11. Actually there is a massive drought this year being too wet is not a problem. They need to build more reservoirs as a most of them are drying up but that will anger the Nimbys so they are actually considering desalination but that will p155 off the green lobby.
  12. You think this site is bad try Quora. Endless dumb stupid anti British questions. Why do the British spell Realize incorrectly. Because in English is realise so we spell it correctly. Why did the British name a town in Lincolnshire after Boston Massachusetts. Why did the British name a city in the North of England after New York. Why is there no cultural history in Britain. Why did Britain adopt the US Harrier jet. Now if it is a wind up it is rather tiresome. Probably just sheer ignorance. I like to think it is a wind up and that Americans aren't that stupid.
  13. Or the Cambodians killing 1.3 million. Hardly a paragon of virtue by any standard.
  14. You are aware of Cambodia's past history? It seems to me it was talking and coming up with a one sided agreement way back that kicked this off.
  15. What does the Geneva Convention say about murdering 1.3 million of you own people or running scam centres.
  16. Hang on a minute, Cambodia has ratified the Ottawa Convention to stop the use on anti personnel mines. Why is nothing being said about a ratified country planting anti personnel mines?
  17. Not much in it. For me having the cash coming every two weeks give me more flexibility but then I am UK based not Thai based. But even Thai based you have the option to transfer two weekly with slightly higher fees than doing 4 weekly and having better cash flow in your Thai account.
  18. Exactly. "Keir Starmer is reportedly seriously considering a national digital ID system to crack down on illegal immigration" And how will that work. It is not identifying them that is the problem. When they know the identities they do nothing about deporting them. They destroy their passports. Where do yo deport them to?
  19. Well it goes into my UK account but isn't Wise a fixed percentage. Two transfers of £200 should be the same as one of £400 or have I got that wrong? When it was cash at the post office it was weekly so the DWP are doing very nicely 4 weeks in arrears into a bank account.
  20. I am in the UK. I was having trouble budgeting. If it was monthly it would have been better, at least it would have been the same date every month. It was a pain budgeting for direct debits which are a fixed date. I was browsing the the DWP web site and it said the pension was paid 4 weekly or you could apply for weekly so I applied for it to be paid weekly. But it came back every two weeks I did try to query it but banging my head on a brick wall is more satisfying that trying to get an answer out of a Government department. Every two weeks works fine for me, just puzzled by why not weekly.
  21. When an airline cancels a flight, doesn't give a refund for the flight, trousers the fuel surcharge, rips you of for hundreds of pounds, that is hardly a petty grievance. On top of the fact they are not a particularly good airline.
  22. OK Sorry but I have only had bad service. If you have only had minor gripes stick with them. The only problem on by last Eva flight was on return the Heathrow the stand was occupied and we sat for 25 minutes engines running waiting to get to the gate. Annoyingly the Thai flight passed us on the taxiway and went straight onto their stand. But that was hardly and Eva problem.
  23. So what you are saying is is we have had diabolical service from any organisation we should forget that and reward the company that gave to bad service against the ones that actually provided a better service and cheaper. Once somebody has scammed me why would I want to use them again.
