  1. Just like village dogs, but they aren't birds unlike sheilas.
  2. No need for Nexium, it is one of those products where labs do a slight tweak of old molecules just claim a new patent and sell their stuff at a premium. I use Omeprazole (Miracid) which it dirt cheap and 20mg do the job for me. Thanks for the D-Limonene lead I'll follow up on that, after my next Gastroscopy next week (refunded 100% by Cigna).
  3. Yes, had a gastroscopy, had ulcers diagnosed and successfully treated. But worse a fairly long hiatal hernia and Barett Oesophagus were also diagnosed. So for the past 10 years I had daily 20mg Omeprazole and repeat Gastroscopies to check for dysplasia. Taking the medication after lunch an avoiding large heavy dinners prevent reflux and heartburn at night. I think anyone with a long history of reflux/heartburn should get a gastroscopy as there are treatments for dysplasia, which can prevent cancer. Oesophagus cancer is grim.
  4. Yes, but when they removed the "old rule" it dawned to me that RD.743 had been anticipating changes that were to come a year later. Also IMO no further changes would be needed if global taxation was introduced.
  5. Why new? IMO it was clearly spelled out, from the onset.
  6. I thought was the funny parts was: "Hello, my name is Dao, I'm from Thailand, 59 years old, married with 3 children. I'm looking for a loyal, romantic, lifelong partner. Are you the one? ". Sorry boring you.
  7. Been fishing on Thai Friendly to spice up my next Bangkok trip, my age limit is 28, but I got this hilarious offer. Read carefully. Hello, my name is Dao, I'm from Thailand, 59 years old, married with 3 children. I'm looking for a loyal, romantic, lifelong partner. Are you the one? *Phone number removed*
  8. A place that is in the process of throwing away one by one all the good things, big and small, that made it attractive up to 10 years ago.
  9. Just do as you used to in France, overthinking will lead to underboombooming. In any case it is a strange idea to come to Thailand these days..
  10. A PR mistake, in an otherwise nicely planned and executed operation. Had my doubts but I got more and more impressed as it unfolded.
  11. It is, and they have a plan for the eradication of pornography: poke out the eyes of every male when they turn 12.
  12. Just on small, but maybe important for you: any LTR makes work permits easier to get as some restrictions concerning the number of employees are lifted. Also you can work with an LTR/Retiree visa, but your local income won't be considered for your assessment by BOI.
  13. Never been asked if my numbers were before or after tax. I gave them my pension statement and the matching bank statements, end of story. But I pay zero tax on my income anyway. Don't think you could claim your salary, as they have a strict definition of "passive income". About your last statement: the LTR gave such peace of mind that I'd find it difficult to revert to marriage extensions. I'd rather join the masses with 800K deposits in Thailand... Anyhow, haven't been to an immigration office for over a couple of years, happy to the extent that I spend 5 minutes to file a TM30 every time I get back home, even though I am not even sure I have to do so.
  14. Paid my house entirely with cash. I can see the cement delivery truck counting my 100 Baht notes.
  15. But the cash doesn't have to be in Thailand. Must show 80 KUSD income, but you have no obligation to bring it in. Similar for health insurance.
  16. That's required year in, year out. Revealing of Thai, or maybe just modern, family values
  17. Needed a lot less for an LTR.. Did the above excrement for 7 years prior to 2022.
  18. Yeah, Stalin and Mao speech: " Today, [the State Department] will take steps to bar leading figures of the global censorship-industrial complex from entering the United States."
  19. Thought you were [one of] the expert[s].
