Okay, so Spanish is a "slap in the face"? At the SB, I noticed lots of people having a good time, smiling and laughing, which is something one never sees out of the current White House. I saw Americans like Pablo Pascal, Jessica Alba, Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin as part of the show. I saw NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell---a man who refused to cave, or "taco" to Trump's pressure---give Bad Bunny a warm embrace after the show, the highest rated halftime show in history. Only those "fun-hating fascists" are unhappy.

Somewhat lost is all of this is the fact that PEOPLE are standing up against the hate that is the hallmark of MAGA, with its deportations and "losers" and "s-hole" countries and all the other epithets that = MAGA. The message of the Bad Bunny show was 'love overcomes hate', plus EVERY American has a right to be proud. After the show, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell gave Bad Bunny a warm embrace. At the Olympics, athletes with absolutely nothing to gain are speaking out against the hate of Trump and MAGA. Hunter Hess was asked a question. He answered honestly, not with MAGA-like pabulum like "BEST EVER". Trump called him a "total loser" or some such typical Trump drivel. Two other US Olympians---Chloe Kim and Eileen Gu---came out in support of Hess and offered a beautiful statement about the true spirit of the Olympics and the celebration of the best of humanity. Would that elected Republicans had the same courage. Would that the law firms, universities and billionaire tech leaders, who have all cow towed to Trump or caved under pressure, had the same courage. Apple CEO Tim Cook showed up at the White House in a tuxedo the day after Alex Pretti was executed, when the White House and DHS were still lying in the face of video showing the truth. Greed + Cowardice = Tim Cook, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk Courage, however, was shown from a very unlikely place: Roger Goodell.

All the MAGAs beefing about the 'show they didn't watch' seemed to have watched the entire show. The Talking Heads on Fox said "Is it too much to ask that the show be in English" (Aside: Is 'covfefe' in the dictionary?), and "Not a single word in English in the entire show!" (suggesting these guys watched the whole thing). Bad Bunny (whose name they joked about, while ignoring Kid Rock), did end his show by saying "God Bless America", which MUST be English, because I've even heard that famed polyglot and Einstein Visa winner Melania saying that. It's a shame such superstars as Kid Rock, and some other "headliners" named Brantley Gilbert, Gabby Barrett and Lee Brice (who????) got swamped by the tens of millions who preferred Bad Bunny, in the Most Watched Halftime Performance in the 60 years of the Superbowl. Yea, that Bad Bunny's got the RATINGS! And who doesn't love good ratings. (One more sidenote: The star (sic) of the TPUSA show, Kid Rock, is so classy he has a Bombardier Challenger 650 with a middle finger logo on the tail. Oh, and Bombardier is a Canadian company, now under tariffs by Trump)

I think he slapped himself in the face....not that he doesn't deserve it. Lucky he has those tiny hands. He won in 2024 because he shifted votes from traditional Dem-voting groups to him, such as Hispanics and Black men. So this self-proclaimed stable genius posted a racist video depicting the former President who lives rent free in the Oval Office AND Mar-a-Lago inside Trump's head, had his White House staff initially defend it, then lie about "some low level staffer", and finally Trump himself said, "I made no mistake". That's going to leave a mark in the Black Male Demographic. On Sunday, he says Bad Bunny's show was a "slap in the face", because? It was in Spanish? Some women danced and shook their backsides? (Had Trump been watching with his bestie Jeff Epstein, he would have displayed that lecherous grin as he did in the famous video.) That's going to leave a mark in the Hispanic Demographic. With the midterms coming up (provided Trump doesn't ban them), Trump is doing his best 'Cleavon Little in Blazing Saddles' impression. "isn't anybody gonna help that poor man?" BTW, initial data suggests Bad Bunny's halftime show was the Most Watched Superbowl Halftime Show in history. One would think a guy so impressed by ratings would applaud, not call it a slap in the face.

Also Monday, and directly related, was a chance for members of Congress to visit the DoJ and review unredacted documents from the Epstein Files. Congresspeople such as Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie visited the special room at DoJ....only to find the documents had not been un-redacted. Every unredacted file was supposed to be provided to Congress by 19 December 2025. Monday was 9 February 2026. No explanation was given for why DoJ has failed to comply with the law. Apparently the so-called Department of Justice is above the law. Obviously the DoJ is hiding material they are bound by law to release. For an Administration and President who incessantly insists "it's time to move on from Epstein", they sure are making it more difficult. One could be forgiven for thinking they have things to hide, as it takes time to go through upwards of 7 million documents, videos and photos that might implicate truly bad people. The DoJ and this Administration look as if they want us to believe Epstein had homes, planes, an island and trafficked hundreds of girls for illicit purposes over multiple decades, but absolutely nobody knew and nobody else engaged in any inappropriate behavior. He also had upwards of a billion dollars net worth, and absolutely nobody has any clue where any of his wealth came from. Yes, nothing to see here, so long as black magic markers are in abundance. And now we have a convicted human trafficker who says that---in exchange for dropping her 20 year prison sentence---she will give a clean bill of health, especially to the one person on Zeus' green Earth who can pardon her.

Of course she'd have absolutely no incentive whatsoever to lie, even if lying would get her clemency and released from her 20 year jail sentence. I mean who could possibly be so cynical as to think a fine woman like her would stoop so low as to lie?

The $500,000,000 UAE bribe was more about dropping the Biden-era restrictions on selling high level AI chips to the UAE, who feared the UAE would pass them on to China. The UAE paid, Trump dropped the restrictions, and China got cutting edge US technology.

They cannot accept that a person may have concerns about official policy or actions taken by an Administration, despite that being a RIGHT put down by the Founders 250 years ago in the very first Amendment to the US Constitution, which went one better than the Magna Carta, by taking away the right to be above the law just because of birth. You are welcome to worship your monarch and grant him papal-like infallibility. No American is obligated to do that to whomever sits in the Oval Office. We Americans are above that anachronism. So were America's Founders, who believed no one should be worshiped simply because they have the "great achievement" of being born. Respect and adoration must be earned. Apparently you and your ilk disagree with what many humans now understand is a basic human right. I do not know Hess' views on Palestine or gay rights, but that sure seems kind of silly to bring up in a thread about free speech.
