Sorry to hear about your friend's overstay problem. My dealings with the Canadian passport office in Bkk have been positive. As I said, I have gotten two new Canuck passports from Bkk before (both less than 2 weeks). I know of a recent Canadian passport renewal in Bkk that took 2 weeks. Other countries, like UK and US, may take much longer.

The Canadian embassy in Bkk issues new passports quickly (2 weeks). I've had a couple done there. A friend's son got one done fast last month. Not sure why your friend couldn't renew his in 3 months. Extension of stays end upon passport expiry.

My understanding is that even a short overstay can get you arrested, sent to IDC (Immigration Detention Centre), deported, and banned from Thailand for 5 years. Your stay at IDC will not be nice and could last 2 weeks or more. Any overstay is a bad idea and you need to fix it as fast as possible. Perhaps an immigration office can help or you need to leave the country and pay a fine of 500 baht/day on the way out.

The current American situation, with so many guns and gun-related violence, is very disturbing and reflects poorly on the nation. Half the people want to limit them because they believe less guns will result in less gun violence. The other half want more guns because they think it will make everyone safer. Game well played by Chelsea. First time I have seen Potter happy in months. Chelsea came out with a lot of energy and Dortmund looked flat. Haller was invisible. I thought Chilwell, James, Fofana, Kovacic, Sterling, and Kai played well. I was especially happy to see James taking his defensive duties seriously.

Chelsea: Another rough match! Again CFC didn't look like they would score any goals. At the moment, Chelsea may be the worst team in the EPL. Boehly should stop attending matches. I'm tired of looking at his dejected mug. Spurs: Richarlison is a turf magnet and the whiniest player in the league. Maybe there is an award for that, which he can win at seasons end. Romero is partially (maybe fully) psycho and the most disliked player in the league. He should start every game with an automatic yellow to protect the other players.
