  1. Credit cards should require a pin entry at purchase for security. If the seller doesn't ask for a pin, then they should be out on the fraudulent purchase.
  2. The security guard will need to pay income taxes, food tax, and tip before he can fully enjoy that burrito. I figure the $22 will go up to $36 before tax money. $4 tip, $3 food tax and then approx. 20-25% income tax on earnings. Your security guard will need to work two hours for his lunch. Beverage and any extras will bump the price up.
  3. Time to move on from covid concern. I have had 3 covid vaxes and then later contracted covid 3 times, none of which I would call a major illness. Why should I particularly care about covid in the future? I am skeptical about the fatality numbers posted. The last chart data also shows very few fatalities.
  4. He served 4 months in a Thai prison. Sounds to me like this guy got deported. He'll have trouble getting back into LOS. Getting a Thai lawyer to sort it out is probably his best starting point.
  5. When Filipino LBs figure out how to steal gold necklaces, Thai LBs will be out a big source of revenue.
  6. How could this guy be a victim? He got it out of a bank machine? He's a perp.
  7. How is tipping an art? Ridiculous post. When you go back to Ontario you can leave 15-25%, if it makes you feel better.
  8. Yes, it's a straight and well-lit stretch of road. Problem is drivers go too fast on it.
  9. The salaeng-driving recycle guys are some of the worst drivers on the road. Reckless driving, no lights, etc.
  10. According to the Thaiger, these two Cameroonian trouble-makers flew out of Thailand to Singapore early in the morning that this incident took place. I doubt they are still in Singapore, but if they did stay there they could be extradited back to LOS.
  11. This guy needs locked up (and more). He's a deviant and is a threat to rape again and again. He'll be the breadwinner now, and later leave to look for other prey.
  12. Phuket is on general downward slide due to overdevelopment. Fancy that? Some expats I know are thinking to move somewhere else. Some things have gotten better and some worse. The traffic is super bad. Beaches are mostly trashed. I drive a scooter and the roads require "Bangkok driving" (on sidewalks, running reds, on the wrong side for distances, etc.). The food situation has improved. There are so many restaurant options that it feels like a large western city. Supermarkets like Villa Market, Tops Central Floresta, etc. have most things any foreigner would want and the rest can be bought on-line. The airport has good connections. The health care/ dental services are very good.
  13. Finding a job in Thailand could also be an option. If you have a university degree, you will be allowed you to teach English (or other subjects) here and you might enjoy the work. I think you should be okay getting another Ed visa.
  14. Must be fake news. Nigerians wouldn't get mixed up with these things.
  15. Everton Spurs was an entertaining match. Back and forth action.
  16. The crackdown on motorcyclists not wearing helmets in Phuket is strictly to make money for the police. Go north to Phang Nga and almost no one wears a helmet there. Only touristy places and Bkk have any helmet enforcement. Thais just don't do helmets. I always wear one.
  17. She has a PhD in stupid.
  18. I made hummus today. It's cheap and easy to make if you have a food processor. Good for dips and sandwiches. I rehydrate dried beans rather than use canned chickpeas.
  19. Some places in Phuket soak pineapple in sugar water. I hate the taste when they do that. Does pineapple really need to be sweetened?
  20. This modern-day witch hunt will continue until there is no more money to procure. There are some benefits to being poor.
  21. I wonder if Epstein's dentist, barber, and car mechanic is on the list. To the chagrin of the prudes, not everyone associated with Epstein is involved with girls.
