When Filipino LBs figure out how to steal gold necklaces, Thai LBs will be out a big source of revenue. -
Swedish Man Arrested for Exchanging Counterfeit Money in Patong
swerve replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
How could this guy be a victim? He got it out of a bank machine? He's a perp. -
How is tipping an art? Ridiculous post. When you go back to Ontario you can leave 15-25%, if it makes you feel better.

Yes, it's a straight and well-lit stretch of road. Problem is drivers go too fast on it.

Myanmar businessman killed over black money deal in Bangkok
swerve replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
According to the Thaiger, these two Cameroonian trouble-makers flew out of Thailand to Singapore early in the morning that this incident took place. I doubt they are still in Singapore, but if they did stay there they could be extradited back to LOS. -
Thai soldier rapes his stepdaughter, mother forgives rapist
swerve replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
This guy needs locked up (and more). He's a deviant and is a threat to rape again and again. He'll be the breadwinner now, and later leave to look for other prey. -
Phuket is on general downward slide due to overdevelopment. Fancy that? Some expats I know are thinking to move somewhere else. Some things have gotten better and some worse. The traffic is super bad. Beaches are mostly trashed. I drive a scooter and the roads require "Bangkok driving" (on sidewalks, running reds, on the wrong side for distances, etc.). The food situation has improved. There are so many restaurant options that it feels like a large western city. Supermarkets like Villa Market, Tops Central Floresta, etc. have most things any foreigner would want and the rest can be bought on-line. The airport has good connections. The health care/ dental services are very good.

What visa option would you recommend?
swerve replied to Five5fife's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Finding a job in Thailand could also be an option. If you have a university degree, you will be allowed you to teach English (or other subjects) here and you might enjoy the work. I think you should be okay getting another Ed visa. -

Must be fake news. Nigerians wouldn't get mixed up with these things. -

Teen dies in Bangkok after motorcycle chase ends in horror crash
swerve replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The crackdown on motorcyclists not wearing helmets in Phuket is strictly to make money for the police. Go north to Phang Nga and almost no one wears a helmet there. Only touristy places and Bkk have any helmet enforcement. Thais just don't do helmets. I always wear one. -
She has a PhD in stupid.

I made hummus today. It's cheap and easy to make if you have a food processor. Good for dips and sandwiches. I rehydrate dried beans rather than use canned chickpeas.

Some places in Phuket soak pineapple in sugar water. I hate the taste when they do that. Does pineapple really need to be sweetened?

This modern-day witch hunt will continue until there is no more money to procure. There are some benefits to being poor. -
Jeffrey Epstein: US court releases list of people connected to financier
swerve replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
I wonder if Epstein's dentist, barber, and car mechanic is on the list. To the chagrin of the prudes, not everyone associated with Epstein is involved with girls. -

swerve replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
This is further proof that Thailand is a safe and caring country. Must send this news to China. Pixelating the eyes of the kid in the photo is a nice touch. -
