    Portable ovens, like the poster above shared, work well and are not so expensive. Assuming that you like to cook, baking expands the range of foods that you can prepare. I have one of these ovens and I really like it.

    Imho IPTV subscription is the way to go. They are fairly cheap (3500 baht/year) and provide a lot channels from many countries. I mostly watch sports, and the one I have is good for that. Can watch on tv, laptop, and phone. Try to get a provider that has fast tech support with the subscription.

    I've stayed at Nana Hotel twice in the past year. It surprised me. Value for money. Good location, good breakfast (including bacon), big pool, the rooms have all be renovated with nice beds and bathrooms, lots of elevators, friendly staff, and the rooms are quiet.

    I can never figure out the logic of hunger strikes. "I'm going to hurt myself and it will be all your fault". If they starve, then so be it, their choice.

    If just for weather, Hua Hin could be a good choice. It has a long dry season and is not too hot due to being located on the ocean.

    You are safe, because am in Phuket. I also have no plans to give up bread, butter, olive oil, or garlic. A life without those is not where I want to be.

    Disagree with you. I have had all of my damage deposits returned for all of the places in Thailand I have rented. About 10 in total. Bangkok, Hua Hin, and Phuket locations. Treat people fairly and you get treated the same way.

    Uncontrolled wokism, too many people, poor weather, very expensive prices, excessive tipping charges, not enough accom, and extravagant taxes are weaknesses of most Western countries. Other than that what's not to love? Unless people live there for family/education/health I see no reason to live in the West.

    Thailand has chosen not to sell land to foreigners. Wise idea. Some slick Thai lawyer found a path/method for foreign hidden ownership of land. But, things don't always work out for the foreign entity when they follow this route.
