  1. Well for me, if it's not in the Indian Ocean, I'd go for the Malaysia 'shoot down clean up story' as most likely.

If it was shot down and/or landed anywhere on Malaysian territory, then there would have to be at least a few who saw it.

Don't forget that there are numerous people that claim to have seen it. From fisherman off the Malay Peninsular to people in the Maldives. Reports of a large aircraft flying over head at very low altitude. Some of these reports were out before it was announced that the aircraft did a 180.

But for what has come of it now is anybody's guess. You cannot keep such a secret as what would be required to make this aircraft, its passengers and crew disappear like this seems to have done.

I don't know. Bin Laden was caught hiding in a house not more than 100 yards from the entrance to the Kakul Military Academy where Pakistan's top military brass train. He was within 60 miles of the country's capital city.

All of the 10 years he was hiding after he was ID'd as the mastermind behind 9/ll, people were hiding him, bringing him messages, food, medicines and whatever else he needed.

10 years before someone dropped a dime on him, and there was a big reward on his head.

Your right but that was one individual. Not quite on the same scale as this.

  3. It's their country, they have the right to refuse entry or deport who they so wish. The UK should have a think about that.

Yeah, really? The UK government signed up to the European Court of Human Rights; Sri Lanka didn't. A shame really 'cos then they might not have murdered so many Tamils in cold blood.

Right ! thumbsup.gif There lay the problem. Western democracies place themselves behind the eight ball with all these binding law agreements and Mr Nice Guy programs they sign up to. When the rest of the world plays on as normal. Those that play by the rules will never out do those who don't.

  4. It was only a "brief gunshot"....as opposed to a long gunshot......hence no damage.....

These shooters must be the worst there are.....they can't aim the M79.....can't shoot AK47 with any accuracy.....anything more that 10 metres and they miss completely.....dumb ass wannabe hitmen!

Maybe they don't want to hurt and maim anyone. More a shot over the bow intimidation IMO.

  5. I think the time has come for the democrats to front up to a general election. As soon as possible. If they cannot get the numbers now they never will. And whilst they are in government they can make all these changes they keep on about.

How is that related to the topic of this thread?

If you take your pacifiers off you will see. passifier.gif.pagespeed.ce.4LsapYv4zC.gi

  6. Doesn't look cost effective to me to stick with Bluefin.

How's about the PRC one certified to 7000?

Beijing could make a lot of capital by supplying it FOC.

If the Chinese had it, and it worked, it would be on the scene. They want desperately to at least appear as though they're useful in the search. Thus far, they've been marginal at best.

Personally, I don't have much faith in Chinese made tech. For starters, it's all copies of farang made items. I've bought faucets made in china and they crack and break at about 6 months. Similarly, power strips, power tools, drill bits and other items are less than well-crafted. I know that's a far cry from sophisticated equipment, but if their manufacturing can't make decent quality on the little stuff, how can we expect them to make good quality on the highly technical items?

    2) the US Navy is very anxious to maintain a lead position in this high profile search; and

    You are joking. Right ?

  7. AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson has rubbished reports the legendary Australian rock band is about to retire.

But he has acknowledged a band member is suffering a "debilitating illness".

That band member is understood to be founding guitarist and songwriter Malcolm Young, who is with his family in Sydney in a frail state following a severe stroke, Fairfax Media reports.

  8. Lots of Muslims use Nana for their 60 virgins before they go off and blow themselves up. It would therefore be counterproductive for Hezbollah to target such a place. One doesn't blow up one's own stockpile of weapons.

Excuse me, please provide proof that anyone could find 6 60 virgins in Soi Nana??

Your right. But they have more chance of finding them there than in the afterlife. wink.png

  9. Does anybody know why this guy is the " acting" transport minister since 16 May 2013 ? Who is the real minister for this portfolio ?? Is this guy's apparent imminent rise to political stardom about to blow up in his face due to the fallout of this mystery ??? Seems to be a motive for an ar$e covering exercise like that of the one going on right now.

Datuk Seri Panglima Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein (born 5 August 1961) is a Malaysian politician and member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO). He is currently the Minister of Defence and acting Minister of Transport since 16 May 2013. He served in the government of Malaysia as Minister of Home Affairs from 2009 to 2013 and Minister of Education from 2004 to 2009. He has been mentioned as a likely successor to his cousin, Prime Minister Najib Razak.[1] He is the son of Malaysia's third prime minister, Tun Hussein Onn, and the nephew of Malaysia's second prime minister, Tun Abdul Razak.
